  1. The Liberals decided no such thing but they should close the loophole that is allowing companies to get away with it.

  4. I know, I know, the Fuhrer shall not be questioned or defied under any circumstances. Absolute obedience is the only solution. Buuuuut, these people have worked "for him" for 9 days at this point, so I strongly suspect that they haven't developed any "with cause" cases for termination based on insubordinance. Let's be real. You would have been in a tizzy if Biden had come into office and purged Republicans from government, because that's simply not the way things work in a first-world democracy. You should be similarly disturbed by "your guy" taking such actions. But you'll embarrass yourself by pretending like this is normal, reasonable behavior because it's convenient in the moment. You're not fooling anybody.

  5. So if Russia gets a big chunk (or all) of Ukraine they will not only have one of the largest reserve of oil in the world but also control of one of the largest food exporters in the world. I don't think the West wants that. And Europe wants that buffer zone. The U.S. won the Cold War by outspending the USSR. They can do the same now. At the same time, everywhere the U.S. retreats from, whether its military aid, humanitarian aid, trade deals,... China will step in to fill the void. Trump on Mt. Rushmore? More like Mt. Flushmore".

  6. If it gets to that stage in Canada, I can promise you there will be much bigger problems than culture wars and bogus claims of Canadian colonial genocide to worry about. The truth is that if Trump tries to use economic pressure to impose a state of affairs on Canada and multiple countries, as well as unfair trade rules, that Canadians and the peoples of other countries oppose, Canada will find many other willing partners with which to trade, including for oil, gas, and rare earth minerals. Canada will at that point become more independent from the U.S. and ride out the economic costs, because the population will be on a unified mission. The U.S. will pay an economic price and lose respect internationally, especially since this whole mess will be of the U.S.‘s making. If Trump chooses this course of action, the result will be a collapse of world markets and domestic demand in the U.S., as the realization hits that people can’t afford the higher costs and volatility. I don’t just guess this. I know it. Trump has an opportunity to forge new strong partnerships with Canada and other countries based on a more common sense set of common cultural values. There’s even a chance to expand opportunities for the citizens of both the U.S. and Canada through a new economic union. However, if this tariff brinksmanship goes off a cliff and hurts average Canadian families, Canada will become more independent from the U.S. and Americans will be resented. Canadians will adapt and they won’t forget. It’s a short window of opportunity for Trump. The bluster and pride could backfire, and other powers will fill the void left by a belligerent U.S.. The trade imbalance between the countries is exaggerated. This sabre rattling best die down before good hard working people get hurt, because if they are, it won’t end well for the U.S. and Canada will come out the other side. Decency and democracy win.

  10. That's supposedly February 1st. According to trump anyway. He has indicated that he wishes to start a trade war and that he intends to try and force the people of Canada to become the 51st state through economic coercion. It's kind of been in the news. That was sort of a dumb thing to say

  11. the hysterical screeching butt hurt in Canada is off the charts President Trump has invoked their worst nightmare ; forced to kneel in the face of American freedom never mind that Canada is the ultimate Free Rider which destroyed its own military for DEI and Transgenderism suddenly these clowns are all beating their chests about their martial history which five minutes ago they were claiming was "White Supremacist Genocide" not for the free world, they were fighting to impose Soviet Bolshevism

You are far more concerned about my opinion about drag queens than you are declining populations. One affects everybody and one affects relatively few... yet you are focused on the latter. I know why

Its much like water rights in the West. Liberal or Conservative.. still need water unless you can prove otherwise.

  18. Awww...you poor thing. Did the whataboutism bug get you? Why would we keep these people? The Biden admin applied banana republic tactics to our legal system, tried to bypass the Republican primary process, did bypass the Democratic primary process, tried to subvert the national vote by removing Trump from the ballot in several states, forced social media companies to censor speech, jailed parents and labeled them domestic terrorists for objecting at school board meetings to boys in girls restroom and locker rooms, arrested protestors and gave them extensive jail time if they were perceived to be conservative while ignoring left wing attacks that burned down businesses, public buildings and more and so much more. If anyone participated in any of that, they are gone.

  21. You are now making things up. Ritter was caught twice in Police stings, exposing himself to undercover officer posing as 15 year old girls. I think it is fair to say, that if one gets caught not once, but twice in Police stings, they likely have been exposing themselves to teen girls since the beginning of the internet, probably hundreds of times. The pervert Ritter was put on probation for the first offence in 2001, then rejected a plea bargain in the second case in 2009. He serve 2 1/2 years in prison. The pervert then resorted to treasonous activities for the past several years, to stay relevant. His home was raised in 2024, and his passport confiscated, for anti US activities.

  32. My prediction is that if the tariffs go through after Canada already wasted $1.2 billion to buy helicopters and other overpriced crap to solve its fake border problem (there really isn’t one, and in any event the U.S. is supposed to manage who comes in as we have to manage what comes into Canada), then the result will be more government wasteful spending to postpone an inevitable result, which will be a major realignment away from US markets. It will mean Europe and South America, Asia and Africa. It will also mean more interprovincial trade. It will mean more refining capacity. It also means that all stupid fluff gets scrapped in a hurry: DEI, climate action,, etc. Those are good things. However if the overspending persists, we’ll be even more vulnerable to accepting lousy terms. If Canada amps up the spending long term and doesn’t adapt, then yes, it’s 51st state or worse. Canadians don’t understand how deep the problem is of our dependence on the U.S. or how grossly irresponsible this socialist government has been. We were in a good position under Harper: low debt, strong dollar, responsible government. Really we just have to get back to that, but our foolish Liberal government has played into the hands of someone who is good to take full advantage of our weakness. Getting us back to that pre-Trudeau position of strength is a very tall order right now. We, the U.S., and the world are in different positions. Personally, I suggest that our government take an open, honest look at what 51st state would mean right now, including how it would play out for our healthcare and social safety net, state rights and powers relative to a federal government in Washington, etc., as we should be looking at realistic options for Canada and what would be best long term. Alongside that option, we should lay out the costs of greater independence, which will be high, especially until we realign our economy. The other options are in between those two options, but because of our current vulnerability, some options may not be open to us if the U.S. won’t embrace them. We should know asap what realistic choices are in front of us instead of simply overspending now to postpone the inevitable. Canadians are still a highly educated, highly skilled people sitting on very precious real estate. Don’t underestimate what a unified, driven Canada can achieve, but the current leadership is irresponsible and out of ideas. A new Conservative government will have a strong mandate for change, including some sacrifices early on.

  35. Referencing Russian GDP "growth" as evidence of the strength of its economy is exceptionally (but on-brand) stupid considering it's all being achieved via state-funded military spending. The Russian trash they produced for the battlefield in 2024 counted for their GDP, but all they have to show for it now is a bunch of shrapnel and wreckage in Ukraine, and a whole lot of debt and inflation at home. 🤡🤡🤡

  41. "Gazans" get way more resources than they need, they just spend all their money on weapons to commit terrorist attacks, and dig tunnels, dummy. https://nationalpost.com/news/world/israel-middle-east/hamas-leaders-wealth You go ahead and find that info from CNN, CBC, MSNBC, Xinhua, or your islamic state daily news subscription, I don't care, the rest of the adults are going to consider Nat Post a 'source'. It also estimates the net worth of several Hamas leaders — all of whom, it notes, live hundreds of kilometres from Gaza, in Qatar. Abu Marzuk, deputy chair of the Hamas Political Bureau is worth $3 billion, while senior leaders Khaled Mashal and Ismail Haniyeh are each worth about $4 billion. I doubt if those guys are really worth that much, but then again, they don't need money in Iran anyways because they get free everything for life there.

  42. the problem is not money, the problem is throughput capacity DND simply doesn't have the personnel anymore to buy kit for the military at an accelerated pace they can't just ignore the rules, they have to follow the process of trials, testing & creating support infrastructure while the CAF simply doesn't have the personnel anymore to train for & operate new equipment this is why DND actually returns money to the treasury every year ; they can't even spend the budget that they are allotted already to wit, all war is logistics in the end
