  1. This is an interesting article by Conrad Black on the over-reach of government. Governments seem to believe they have the right to intrude on everyone's personal lives and business. Conrad Black: Government has no business in the bank accounts of the nation (msn.com) These are Marxist-oriented politicians who have no respect for individual rights and freedoms.

  2. I think each element within the military seen their service through different lenses, and had different experiences...for me being in the Regiment was everything to me, more than being a Canadian itself...for many reasons, the Regiment was family, we looked after each other regardless of what each of us faced day to day....... most of these men had shared combat together, and various other dangerous activities, and had formed a bond, stronger than family, even today if one of them phones me I drop everything and head their way...My wife is very understanding, and i don't deserve her. I've seen DND treat it's own soldiers poorly, I've seen everyday Canadians treat our soldiers worse, we have all seen our politicians treat our members poorly, both conservative and liberal...Some how the media has always given us a fair shake....it is a matter of pride for the NDP to treat us like dirt, the majority of Canadians don't care about anything military, nor do they really care about their Nation...As they ( Canadians) are the only ones with a voice that can make change, and they are not interested...Hard to remain loyal to the flag and everything it stands for...when it means nothing to them..

  3. no, I was just another face in the ranks I was just proud to be a lowly Master Corporal passing my Infantry Section Commanders Course is my greatest professional achievement but I was no super soldier, I was average at best the best soldier I ever knew was Warrant Officer Frank Mellish

  4. bear in mind, this is not in anyway an anti military forum the ranking member here is Bush-Cheney2004 he was an officer in the United States Navy serving as the missile launch officer on a ballistic missile submarine Army Guy has to be one of the most decorated soldiers in the Canadian Army, with all his tours in 30 years Army Guy is literally a war hero and all the regulars here love & respect him and he would never pull rank, nor lord his truly heroic service over anybody here he is the consummate Canadian professional soldier, humble almost to a fault and Zeitgeist ? he is honestly one of the greatest Canadians I've ever had the privilege to know nobody loves Canadian veterans more than Zeitgeist if you are going to attack my dear friends, I am coming after you, and I make no apologies for it

  5. then stop going around the internet anonymously acting like an idiot recruit trying to pull rank and lord your military service over other Canadians it's highly unprofessional, you're making a fool of yourself, and it reflects badly on the whole NCO corps it's just backfiring on you anyways, none of these civilians are giving you respect, they are ridiculing you

  6. apparently my heart did stop briefly and they were doing compressions on me I don't have any trauma because I wasn't aware but when you see them doing compressions on one of your troops, that's nerve racking it's like I had a recruit collapse on me after getting stung by a bee his throat started swelling up, I was honestly freaking out, like please don't die on me, kid

  7. I always had my doubts about crypto-currency, but we all just all found out that digital currency = no currency for dissidents in the modern era. The people who had their accounts frozen here weren't even remotely close to being considered terrorists or violent criminals, they were just reasonable people supporting a reasonable & peaceful protest. To say that the government's attacks on Canadians went too far is a gross understatement.

  8. Interesting. Ya know...I find a lot of people lack the ability to think past elementary levels. How do you folks deal with multiple dimensions? Ah well...yes yes...have a good laugh son...

  9. If the central bank gets a digital currency and the digital passports are linked to it, along with government look-fors like state health programs (we already have digital vaccine passports), well that’s a true social credit totalitarian system a la China. What’s especially reckless about our government’s moves on freezing Russia’s access to Swift and other financial punishments is that they’re forcing Russia to form new economic and monetary pacts with far more people than we have in Europe and North America. It will also force individuals to seek cryptocurrencies that evade totalitarian government control. The BRIC countries (which are the vast majority of the world’s population) are going to set up a financial system with Russia. If our government and banks are seen to be too manipulative of world affairs, too highly ideological (especially woke, green, Marxist), and intrusive into people’s privacy (e.g. freezing accounts for political beliefs), where will that leave us?

  10. actually just being in the combat arms is plenty dangerous enough personnel are killed in training all the time like Master Corporal Stan Wheeler who was run over by an M113 or Lt. Colonel Dan Bobbit, who was killed when his LAVIII rolled over

  12. Sounds like a thread I started awhile back about the disgusting Russiophobia in this country. Stealing money because of their passport doesn't make you virtuous

  15. Just imagine when the Romanian communist regime was overthrown that Ceaucescu had been taken to some international criminal court and his trial would have lasted for years and forces loyal to him could have continued the struggle. They didn't make that mistake and instead straight after having arrested him they executed him and his wife. If and when the Russian regime is overthrown the same must happen with Putin and his closest circle.

  19. That same girl got an education, she honored her fathers wishes, she made him proud...for me, that was worth 3 years of my life... Why would you know, the majority of Canadians tuned out of Afghanistan on year 2 , and for the more than 16 years that NATO was there then an entire generation of women got an education, got to do things you take advantage of every day, like TV , intra net, open a business, go to school go to university. Advance women's right by empowering Afghanis women...use cell phones, libraries, access to electricity, paved high ways, and a shit ton more.... all paid for with Canadians soldiers lives....there and here... Here is the rub for me, the majority of Canadians did not want us over there, to help a people who could not help themselves, they did not care when we where there , why would they care now... Canadians where happy when funding was cut, not just for the combat portion, but for everything including major projects like rebuilding the dam, schools hospitals etc...DND took all of that on and a lot of the small stuff like hospitals, ambulances, fire trucks was funded by soldiers digging into their own pockets.....not by Canadians back home, there are exceptions like the elderly women from Newfoundland that would knit thousands of pairs of mittens, from free and send them to soldiers to hand them out to afghans children...or the mountains of school supplies that clogged military aircraft every flight, but that was the minority...So why Canadians feel the need to complain or point out what we did or did not do is above me... Justin promised to return the 40,ooo plus Afghanis who help our nation take the fight to the terrorist... and todate we have rescued 10,000, of those numbers 5000 have been rescued by ex military and private donations....which kind of states we still don't give a sweet fuck we got another war to cheer for...sorry for the rant. ....but it is easy to quarter back after the game... Not attacking the opium trade was a political decision had nothing to do with grunts on the ground...but then again you don't seem to understand the economy at the time, farmers made a merger living off of growing opium and they had to feed families as well, it was that or go get paid by the Taliban to fighting us...

  23. I mean...you're telling us here that you want me to show you the numbers, but already implying that you will dismiss them as not being trustworthy. Are you going to tell us that 1,000,000+ people didn't die of COVID in the USA, or that close to 40,000 didn't die in Canada from it? If you want to believe your conspiracy theories over the statistical records and wisdom of the entire rest of the world, go ahead I guess. There's really no helping that sort of foolishness. ?
