This thread is about American politics . . . . . not Canadian politics. ?

I wasn't sure where to put this. Thought about the media group, but it's not just about media This is the story of a woman who decided to get involved in politics. She got the nomination for the conservatives in Alberta. And then she got smeared as a racist by the NDP, with the enthusiastic support of the Liberals and the media. Yet the accusation was based on anonymous, incomplete experts from years old social media posts, the entirety of which were never made public. So when people say that good people don't want to get involved in politics, this is one of the reasons why. She's now suing all concerned; the NPD, the Liberals and the CBC among others. What happened to Caylan Ford 20 months ago, when she was running as a candidate for the United Conservative Party in Alberta, should terrify anyone thinking of running for public office. What has happened to her since should worry the rest of us. Now, she is finally fighting back. After her candidacy was ended by false accusations that she is racist and a “white supremacist,” she’s suing those she says defamed her, including the Alberta NDP, the CBC and the Toronto Star. Anyone concerned about the polarization of our political discourse should be rooting for her. Ford was the kind of candidate parties dream of: a Mandarin-speaking former federal foreign affairs adviser; a campaigner for persecuted minorities with a master’s degree in international relations and another in human rights law from Oxford; a documentary filmmaker; and a locally raised young mother of two. She won a competitive nomination and was poised to defeat the incumbent NDP justice minister in Alberta’s May 2019 election. Then, less than a month before election day, with a must-win seat in jeopardy, the NDP’s attack machine went into action. An anonymously sourced article in Press Progress, a pro-NDP news website, reported that several years earlier in a private Facebook conversation, Ford had “complained ‘White Supremacist Terrorists’ Are Treated Unfairly,” and “echoed white supremacist rhetoric.” Within minutes, the NDP called on her party to remove her. Under pressure to be a team player, and with little time to react, Ford withdrew rather than cause a distraction. Big bad pharma needs to be investigated. They have been responsible for more deaths then any war in the past could ever have done. Hundreds of millions of innocent people have been either made ill and many hundreds of people have died from the many drugs out there. Most of the drugs that are prescribed by doctors are probably not needed at all. Instead of doctors prescribing vitamins and minerals to take for many diseases they prefer to prescribe drugs. And who is to say that the drugs that doctors subscribe worked at all? Maybe the body actually healed itself. But do not worry about old man Biden and his wife doctor???? Jill Biden. They both have our health interests at heart. But we will omit the fact that the Biden's have been in bed with big pharma for decades now. That will be between you and me.

The reason I would like more testing to put an end to this whole lock down business. Covid19 is not a hoax, but it is a gross exaggeration. The politicians say that it is catastrophic, dire, but never put it into perspective. There are currently 77,305 active cases in Canada, that is one in every 499 people in the nation. Why lock down 498 people that don't have the virus, when one person has it. Test everyone and isolate the one who has it, and their immediate contacts, and let everyone else live freely. The virus is killing thousands, the lockdowns are killing tens of thousands. The deaths from the virus are not avoidable, the ones from the lockdowns are totally avoidable. Dr. David Nabarro special envoy for the WHO on covid19 says that lock downs are causing a doubling of world poverty, and a doubling of world wide child malnutrition. He calls lockdowns a global catastrophe.

And now the days will start to get longer. Whoopee!! I just hate these long dark evenings. Peace to you also.

It's Christmas time and not Happy Holidays time. Are you talking about vacation time here? Just wondering. So, why do you and so many other people find it so hard to say or seem to be afraid to say the words MERRY CHRISTMAS? I do not believe that anyone from another religion is going to be offended when someone says Merry Christmas to them. It's Christmas time, why would they feel offended? It is a Christian celebration time of the year. Other than that. I wish you all a Merry Christmas also and do get together with your family and friends despite what Queen Bonnie Henry says that we all should not do. She no doubt is a leftist liberal and she no doubt despises Christmas. Just saying.

We know something is wrong but have no solution. Sure there will always be problems, but what we are seeing is a large scale general drift in the wrong direction. We know it's wrong because it threatens society itself. It threatens law and order, and wants to re-write history. Canadians are complacent politically, but bhen the narrative turns toward dismantling the state it's time to pay more attention. Yes, interesting parallel and it could also be that any civilization has a natural life-cycle, and ours has entered the late stages and is in decline. There could be a natural tendency towards socialism, as it seems to benefit society by helping the more needy to cope with their dilemma. The longer a society continues, the greater the pressure and trend towards socialism. Societies thrive for longer if this trend is slowed down, and that depends on the strength of the right wing. Really, both political "sides" must be healthy and cooperative to achieve social good health. Over time as things evolve and become more complicated, political elements gain power and influence leading to a stalemate situation. Each "side" opposing the others work and initiatives. Politicians and lawyers cannot come to agreement on anything. The state is failing. Outside the gate, barbarians are ready and they are looking for ways to help us fail, in our decline. The Chinese have made it their mission to achieve global dominance and in doing so take away what we consider to be liberty, and to attack our political system. Attack the right wing, and turn the left into a tool for their purposes.

The US is like the PG-13 hero with striated pipes, a black belt, and a soft heart. It's Jason Statham without the accent. China's military may still be in second place, but they're more like Scarface. They're ruthless and they don't get distracted by the loss of lives. Think of Mao's carnage of the middle of the 20th century, the population-curbing measures of the late 20th century, and the modern-day re-education camps. The Chinese are the Chinese, they're not a loosely-affiliated collection of self-interest groups like America is becoming. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog", and America is more like two dogs fighting each other. Burn the flag, screw the anthem America is like late-stage Rome imo.

I'm for less testing, myself. If I get the viruse and have no symptons, who the hell cares. None of anyone's god-damned business far as I'm concerned. Less testing is better. The countries who do the least testing are already free. For they understand the risks, and that there are always risks in living. Death my friends, is the only thing of absolute certainty.
