  1. No they were not. Harper never ever talked about his beliefs or made religious comments and actually neither did Scheer. it was the media that continually harped on it. j

  4. Yep. To some people, just being catholic or Christian automatically makes you a so called bible thumper. But they’d never reference a Koran thumper or Torah thumper. Meanwhile they gladly vote for a turban wearing guru granth sahib thumper. Cause that’s ok.

  5. It seems in this country you can wear special religious gear like turbans and hijabs and pray multiple times a day and get nothing but respect. But if you say you're a a practicing Christian and believe in what your church says you're a religious fanatic.

  6. With a fascist regime which puts people in concentration camps and harvests organs from live political prisoners? I'm not sure if you really want to take the position that the only alternatives available in any relationship is open war or complete submission. We don't need to start a war with China to force them to stop shipping fentanyl to us. We just have to stop buying their crap.

  8. We don't have a national news network here. There's no light being shone on our bastard, aside from on social media, which Trudeau is doing his best to curtail. He's a fascist's fascist.

  9. So you want to ensure ISIS has it's rights protected ? Well, you are indeed a beacon of freedom then. I honestly don't give a lark about this, except if it makes trolls cry I will be delighted. Liars have already said that I want to ban ideas I don't *like* so why the hell not ? You free speech folks blew it with me when you were irresponsible about speaking up about bad speech: you see that's part of the deal of free speech, the bad speech is supposed to be called out. You had a nice toy and you didn't play right with it, or rather you gave it to Russian kids to play with and they weaponized information while you did nothing. You are to blame for this - and I don't mean your type I mean each one of you personally. In my new role as a lieutenant of the information police I'll be knocking on all your doors shortly !

  10. I like Rue and Bubber - here's a quote from the Global News article to lessen their talking past each other. Rue linked this a few posts back:

  11. He wrote the curriculum and admitted he did and anyone can trace back the curriculum to his texts, articles and position papers which some of us have studied. Of course you are going to deny. What else can you do now. Also go find out what libel means because you keep throwing it out clearly not understanding it. Next, you are willfully ignorant. You assume I and everyone who does not support his curriculum carte blanche disagree with all of it. I never stated that and nor did Ford or anyone else. You are so busy assuming what other people think, you don't get it. You turn all issues into black and white, for or against postulations because that is how you project your thought patterns. You don't know what parts of the curriculum I do and do not agree with and you clearly ignore what parts I agree with and do not agree with from what I have stated. As for libel, stating a fact is not libel. Try grasp that. You seem to have a hard time with basic facts.

  12. Here is what Bubber Miley also "forgot" or is "confused" about: https://torontolife.com/city/ben-levin-child-pornography-sting/ Here is the source of the curriculum from Ben Levin Bubber Miley denies: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/242526006_CURRICULUM_POLICY_AND_THE_POLITICS_OF_WHAT_SHOULD_BE_LEARNED_IN_SCHOOLS Just to be clear Levin had a lot of supporters in the academic community and I for one state he was not alone in what he did but he was the principle player and author behind the curriculum which other academics went along with and here is a synopsis of what they went along with and who some of them were: https://globalnews.ca/news/1863258/reality-check-whats-the-evidence-behind-ontarios-sex-ed-curriculum/ The actual curriculum is at: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/curriculum/elementary/health.html

  13. You done? Blubber Miley you have zero credibility. Now suddenly you know who Ben Levin is and that he is a convicted child pornographer and registered sex offender but deny he wrote the curriculum? As well you falsely claim I claimed other people in the Ministry of Education are pedophiles which I never stated, then you want to come back and puff up your ego? Tough guy. You got a handle on it do you. Run along before you get hurt by the facts. Education Minister Wynne’s attempt to deny Levin had anything to do with writing the curriculum in question was in fact exposed as a lie by no less than Levin himself. The references below come from: https://torontosun.com/2015/03/02/liberals-cant-deny-levins-role-with-sex-ed-curriculum/wcm/744836e1-03e8-44c0-b10f-615c26ba14ff “ On March 6, 2009, Levin wrote and signed a memo that put himself in charge of Ontario’s school curriculum. “Dear colleagues, I am writing to provide an update on our sector’s agenda … I will be filling the ADM (assistant deputy minster) position previously held by George Zegarac … The division formerly headed by George Zegarac will be renamed as ‘Learning and Curriculum.’ It will have responsibilty for curriculum and for Special Education including Provincial Schools.” Then on April 6, 2009, Levin penned a memo saying, “Today, the ministry released its new equity and inclusive education strategy paper … This provincewide strategy has been a priority for our Minister of Education Kathleen Wynne and me.” On June 24, 2009, Levin wrote that the “Realizing the Promise of Diversity: Ontario’s Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy” sets out a “vision for an equitable and inclusive education system.” He wrote “the principles of equity and inclusive education should be embedded into all aspects of board and high school operations including program, employment, research, curriculum, resources, instructional and assessment practices.” In an interview with OISE’s winter 2009 newsletter, Levin said: “I was the deputy minister of education. In that role, I was the chief civil servant. I was responsible for the operation of the Ministry of Education and everything that they do; I was brought in to implement the new education policy.”

  14. Maybe they should name our public schools after fallen soldiers rather than dead Prime Ministers. While i disagree with them I can't hate the people who don't respect the military. They're utopian do-gooders that don't like violence, this is what they've been taught, this is what i was taught, they're ignorant and think they're doing right. They just don't realize that sometimes violence is needed when other people out there are willing and waiting to commit violence against you to advance their interests. Same reason we need police...the wolves are out there waiting for their moment to strike and we need someone to protect us from them.

  15. They're anti-abortion. They don't like homosexuality, neither have ever attended any Pride events. How long have they been bigots? As I said, they're Bible thumpers. CPC needs some fiscal conservatives who have left the 20th century socially in order to appeal to most Canadians because most Canadians aren't Bible thumpers.

  17. Pay better attention to American media....impeachment trials are in the Senate. GOP controls the Senate...do the math. Trying to remove an elected president over Ukraine does not have bipartisan support. ...so Trump walks. Got it ?

  20. I could careless as to what Trump does with his charity foundation funds. It's his foundation. So, do you know as to whether he paid the money back? I am pretty sure that the Clinton's took plenty of money out from their foundation and used some of that money for her to run for president in 2106. All foundation owners probably do it all the time. But of course if Trump does, well now, that is different, and that is a no-no. You are a naughty naughty boy, Trump. Lol. I am pretty sure that if you were a billionaire, you would be possessing a bit of "megalomania" yourself. Multi billionaires like G. Soros, and Bloomberg are no doubt in the megalomaniac club. Billionaires can be like that you know. Or do you?

  24. Women tend to support policies based more on emotion than cold, hard facts. We've had four federal leaders who were women and they were all idiots (not counting Trudeau, who's a moron). Every female premier I can think of was a freaking disaster. That being said, I would rather have her than some of the other names being mentioned, such as McKay.

  25. Then why is anyone discussing "Trump" in a thread about Andrew Scheer resigning in Canada ?

  29. Dougie and any other people that have served in the Military on this forum - ArmyGuy and anyone else, I thank you for your service. Thank you for sacrificing holidays, birthdays, family time and much more to protect our rights and freedoms. I realized after reading Moonlight's post that I have never said thank you for this on this Forum. I did wear a poppy but I see now how I missed the opportunity to say more.

  30. You can dish it but you can't take it. And when someone dishes it you accuse them of being "gutless" because you're a "veteran". Again, you aren't immune to criticism of your political opinions because you served in the Canadian Forces. My comments had nothing to do with your service in the Forces, so I don't know why you even bring up your veteran status. I honour and thank you for your service, but your service had nothing to do with our convo. Your contempt for Canada and Canadians I now realize is obviously connected to your treatment in the Forces somehow. So I won't call you a whiner anymore. You've never said how you were mistreated or what happened to you so i have no idea what you've endured, but again something happened and i can read between the lines. I'm sorry you were harmed and that the gov doesn't give a crap. That's an utter tragedy and you''re right to be angry. Canada treats its veterans like crap, like pretty much every government. My point was that yes Canadian police and politicians are corrupt, but that's true in every country. If you think the US government is any better at treating their veterans that's a joke. The only difference is that many Americans themselves tend to respect veterans more, at least the non-urban liberals do, so you're right about that. My gramps was tough as nails but probably had PTSD, you probably have PTSD or some other mental or physical ailment. His PTSD has ripped through our family, reverberated for generations, has destroyed lives and keeps destroying them, brought people to their knees, and nobody in my fam has been left unscathed. I have the utmost empathy for your situation and your contempt for Canada. Governments don't care about their employees, private corporations don't care about their employees. It's all a big rat-race, humans are selfish a-holes, they just want money or to suck up to their superiors so they can get more money and status or a promotion etc. And they'll grind the people under them into the dirt if it will get them ahead in the game. Unfortunately this isn't isolated to Canada, it's human nature. You will find no reprieve from this in any other country, that's my point. In my adulthood I've realized that in life someone is either screwing you in the a$$ or you're screwing someone else in the a$$. As a kid you're shielded by it more since you have your parents and teachers to protect you. As an adult you're left on your own to defend against the wolves. It's exhausting keeping up the defense cuz the wolves are always at the door. I have no idea what you've been through, I'm just a "civilian" but I've been through all sorts of nightmare sh!t and have seen others. It's easy to lose myself on the internet, it's a tempting distraction from life for me, but the winners i know are too busy kicking ass at life to spend time on message boards, i try to remember that. I've learned it's best to deal with the issue at hand head-on & not ignore it, and at the same time let go of your anger, hatred, resentment. It will only destroy you more to walk around holding onto anger. Don't let them cause you one more minute of misery than is necessary. Flip the wolves the finger, sue them if you have to, then move on and be happy and in peace. It's eat or be eaten, you lost, tip your cap, learn your lesson, move on. Use the lesson against the next set of wolves, teach the lessons to your loved ones. Enjoy the country and the fresh air. Best of health to you my friend, don't let the pink pills make you sleep too much.

  31. Call me cynic but I think this whole thing about the unpopularity of the labour leader seems to have played well for Tories. People are tired of status quo and want to get Brexit done.

  32. This is just a big word salad of nothingness. Regardless, Joe Biden is on video bragging about withholding funds to Ukraine until the prosecutor in charge of investigating is fired. That was in 2014. Trumps firings are completely constitutional. Trumps Twitter rants are completely constitutional. Thr American people, under the constitution are free to elect a total unqualified a-hole if that’s what they choose. You really should stick to what’s considered high crimes and misdemeanours in your arguments.
