Here we go, from the Babylon Bee https://babylonbee.com/news/snopes-issues-pre-approval-on-all-statements-made-during-tonights-democratic-debate U.S.—With the Democratic primary debates in full swing, many fact-checking websites are preparing to review candidates’ statements for accuracy. Thankfully, Snopes, the most unbiased fact-checking website ever, has found a way to expedite their evaluation process. Since their original founding in 1957 by the KGB, Snopes has gained a reputation for objectively reporting what someone’s secret motivations probably were, and what they probably really meant when they said something. More recently, they have perfected the art of determining whether a satirical article is hilarious, left-leaning comedy or divisive, conservative-leaning fake news. As part of their ongoing goal of being able to rush to judgment as quickly as possible, Snopes published a pre-approval of all future statements made by candidates during the Democratic debates. cont. Actually, it's not entirely true they could be older than that from the fact Cheka https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheka2 points

To their credit the Harper tories cut funding to the UN relief and works agency for Palestine. I've read a lot of unsavoury things about this agency over the years, including that it's mainly staffed by Palestinians who overtly hate both Israel and Jews and make little effort at hiding it. I've also heard that for a supposedly neutral group its very close to terrorist groups and does not work with the Israeli government at all. There have been reports of them smuggling weapons across the border and moving them around in UN ambulances and trucks. That Canada immediately rejoined the UNRWA as soon as Trudeau was prime minister, with no preconditions is an excellent example of their 'style over substance behaviour, both on the domestic front and internationally. We've forked over $100 million to this corrupt agency since Trudeau took over, with no idea how or where it's being spent, or whose pockets it's going into. In theory, UNRWA exists to provide support to Palestinian refugees: food, shelter, education, health care. The organization has become a highly politicized vehicle that promotes the dream nurtured among Palestinians to destroy Israel and return to their ancestral homes. Israel, and many observers around the world, see UNRWA instead a self-sustaining bureaucratic fiefdom, serving the whims of its executives first, at best, and outright hostile to Israel (and sympathetic to its terrorist attackers) at worst. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/vivian-bercovici-why-hasnt-the-latest-scandal-persuaded-canada-to-cut-off-unrwa1 point

Breaking news: Police Raid home of "Jessica" Yaniv: The Post Millennial has confirmed speculation that the Walnut Grove home of Jessica Yaniv was raided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police last night. The raid follows Yaniv’s explosive live appearance on Blaire White’s YouTube channel, brandishing and demonstrating the functionality of a taser at one point in the debate, and claiming to be fully aware of its illegality. Yaniv also claimed to possess pepper spray. Yaniv’s discussion of the weapons followed a lengthy racist rant disparaging the East Indian and immigrant communities of British Columbia, asserting “we have f*cked up people who migrate here, who think they can do whatever they want.” https://www.thepostmillennial.com/breaking-rcmp-search-the-home-of-alleged-predator-jessica-yaniv/amp/?__twitter_impression=true1 point

There's a place for liberal thought here and everywhere. I have the utmost respect for actual liberal points of view. There's just no place for outright lies, unsubstantiated accusations, hatefulness, divisiveness, and fear-mongering. The left has gone overboard with hyper-partisan hyperbole to the point where the Dems/Libs are like the Iran of the west. Getting the truth out of a liberal is like getting water out of a stone. People here are now pretending that "the Russian collusion thing was merely 'alleged' this whole time - no one was acting like Trump was obviously 100% guilty this whole time". Take a liberal post, strip it of unsubstantiated accusations & baloney, you're left with a blank screen. Your own post, for example: "Eradicating liberal thought from the face of the earth is the most important thing to many posters here" is obviously ignorant and inflammatory. There's nothing wrong with saying "We need to take care of people" - it's true. There's everything wrong with saying.... basically every single thing that the average liberal toady regurgitates from CNN or CBC.1 point

I don't see a reason to trust military over police in Canada. What's more, I fear U.S. police more than Canadian police or British police for that matter. I'm always amazed when I go to the U.S. how quick police are to pull out their firearms and have people spread their hands. In a way it makes perfect sense because they have more to fear from potential shooters. We all know the stories -- "I thought he was reaching for a gun, so I shot him." Police in some states are poorly trained and poorly paid. Anyway, we've had similar situations in Canada on a smaller scale. Your characterization of Canada as some police state is pretty absurd. In Russia and even in the U.S. there is a much heavier police presence. Even in France and parts of Europe it's common to see police carrying machine guns. Given their experiences of terrorism, I'm not surprised. I think tensions mount in the most depressed areas between police and petty thieves, gangs, and small-time organized crime.1 point

Probably not. But then, my fire and earthquake insurance will probably never be used. I'm still happy to have the peace of mind. The last time my alarm went off, while I was away, it took the cops 21 minutes to show up. I realize that's not an emergency call but even so. We have a very low number of police in this city and it can take them a while to get somewhere. Only a little. I worry a lot more about all the guns in the hands of criminals, and all the criminals running around loose, even though the police know perfectly well who they are and what they're doing1 point

He cites plenty of authors in the Human Sciences domain such as Carl Jung, which isn't proper Science in itself, but more thesis-like arguments. You may find it interesting, even though it may be based on interpretations that are not scientific. Doesn't mean they are wrong, doesn't mean they are 100% true. But I feel that Peterson nails it when he explains the root causes of Mass Killers. He understands them pretty well with the mental state description of what's going through their minds before, during the act and what their goal is.1 point

What is the 'logic' behind mass shootings seem to me a question that is dead on arrival. This is blind rage, which is always present in society and can be harnessed for all kinds of things even positive ones. But there's no logic there.1 point

I think Gang Violence is always going to something that we have to deal with. Especially with the prohibition of drugs in the US. And that's what we saw in Toronto on the weekend, gang Violence. These are, by and large, targeted killings of rivals etc. Most people accept that byproduct of living in an urban environment. These mass shootings aren't that though. They're people who go out and purposely try to kill innocent people going about their normal business. And they don't generally use concealed handguns, they try and get the military style weapons to kill as many people as possible. This Dayton shooter was neutralized within a minute, but still managed to kill 9 people. That kind of flies in this whole "Good Guy with a Gun" Narrative. The El Paso shooter was in freaking Texas!!!! You telling me there wasn't anyone else with a gun to help? And even if there was, they're outgunned by a guy with a military style weapon. I do think limiting military style weapons would help, or at least limiting the carnage when someone decides he wants to do this. Also, perhaps, intelligence agencies should focus more of their efforts on tracking InCells and White Supremacists and less on Extremist Muslims. It seems Angry White men are the bigger threat. And I'm speaking as a white man. For example this 8Chan message board. The NSA and CSIS should make an effort to try and find these people before they decide to do these things. And finally, the President should probably stop demonizing immigrants. This El Paso shooter admitted as much that he felt his country was being invaded.1 point

Again, I don't think you understand the data sets...overall U.S. homicide rate is still down, as are firearms homicides which are now a larger percentage of all homicides committed. Suicides are up...slightly. President Trump's ATF actually banned bump-fire stocks while Obama approved them. Americans now own more guns per capita but the gun homicide rate has still declined from record highs.1 point

They are held responsible for their reactions. They are either apprehended and put in jail or they are shot dead by the police. I prefer the latter. Save tax dollars from having to feed and clothe and house these cowardly killers of innocent people scumbags. If these cowards had any bal-s why not attack some army barracks or police station? Those two alone will gladly put you out of your f'n useless life and misery. The banning of guns or having gun laws will never work. Only tougher laws are needed. When someone uses a gun in the commission of a crime and seriously injures or kills someone, they should be put in solitary confinement for the rest of their useless life or put in the main detention area and let the other prisoners make their life very very miserable. There will be no consequences for the other prisoners for whatever they do to this mindless pos. No murder allowed. Hopefully, that will be a warning and a lesson to anyone else who goes out and kills innocent people. In jail your ass is grass, man. What the media should be saying is that these cowardly pos morons are not worth talking about and hopefully when they end up in jail the other prisoners will make their life as miserable as hell. Call them out for the cowardly pos that they are. Not try and be nice and not say anything. They only deserve scorn and hatred. I guess it is just an excuse for the rotten cowards that they are who commit their crimes is to try and blame it all on society. Society made me do it. Their are millions of people who have an hatred for society but do not go out and kill people and so I will never understand as to why any of these mass killers feel that it is okay to want to go out and shoot innocent people? What did those people ever do to them? Why they seem to feel that killing innocent people makes them somehow feel great and good inside is beyond me. Conservatives cannot even get together and have a private conservative rally out in public square or in some auditorium somewhere before they are suddenly attacked by the communist goons called ANTIFA. The real and true conservatives are not responsible for gun violence and mass killings. These killers just have hatred in their hearts for everyone and are not really conservatives at all. Probably not even right wingers at all. Most of them may have read and seen some things on the internet about right wing hate groups and have listened to their rhetoric but that cannot be blamed and is not the fault of most conservatives who are not really right wing at all. That is just the lying leftist liberal media that wants to paint a picture that all conservatives are right wing white nationalist terrorists because of the medias hatred for conservatism and conservatives. When a Muslim kills innocent people in mass shootings the leftist liberal media does not call them Islamic terrorists even if they are found out later to be an Islamic terrorist. Just keep that all hush-hush. Only white nationalists and conservatives can be real terrorists and mass killer shooters and must be exposed at all costs whether true or not. Give me a break media.1 point

Within minutes of the El Paso shooting, we knew he was white. Very soon after he was a white nationalist. Even after I saw that the Ohio shooter was Antifa, I watched Don Lemon and all he talked about was white supremacy. I chalked it up to maybe the news hadn't got to him yet...or time delay, but even today, not a word about Antifa. The only thing i've seen is that he had a "kill list". No talk about his politics all. This guy in El Paso clearly had political beliefs that straddled both parties, but just like the other recent shooters who identified as anti-Trump, that didn't affect the canned media narrative. For every Trump tweet suggesting that too many illegals are bad for america, there are 10, maybe 100 media comments that Trump people are Irredeemable, deplorable, racists, bigots etc. When the media says outright that "anyone who votes for Trump is a racist", they are a major contributor. The media should look at their contribution first.1 point

It should come as no surprise that Argus overlooked that they're almost always right-wing as well. The left is what's pushing it but apparently it's gone too far. There's a reason why the right wing is described as being reactionary. It's not what anyone wants it just is what it is. Would someone please tell Argus it's definitely conservatism that pushes them towards reacting violently too. It would sure be nice if ya'll could just take yourselves out without dragging normal people into it.1 point

Why cite, surely you agree the media is often controlled in high profile legal cases. Are there no publication bans? It did seem like information about the Danforth one was being kept out of public view, though we are not always told why. What are we talking about? Whether or not people care more if the shooter was white? A rather macabre and stupid discussion. The poster who raised that question exposed that they judge through these base assertions. I would never even consider it. I assert that most Canadians do not judge such situations by the shooter's skin colour, and will still be just as upset if a little girl is killed, regardless of her skin.1 point

Are we getting hordes of Russian immigrants? No. We are getting hordes of Chinese immigrants and I'm a little leery of that since the Chinese have a history of resisting assimilation. But that might have been because they weren't welcomed in greater society. They do not, as far as I know, hold our own culture and values in contempt, nor regard us as morally defective because we do not think and worship as they do. They probably do actually think we're kind of lazy and that we don't put enough effort into raising our children properly, but I can live with that. Most of the Chinese put tremendous importance on education, and their kids generally go to university. That means getting out in the world and eventual integration. They do not expect their daughters to stay cloistered so as to pop out babies and mind them, nor do they appear determined to send their sons back home for a proper wife, nor wish our laws could be changed to suit their backward religious beliefs. The Indians are broken into multiple religions. I am somewhat leery about them, too, though they do tend to integrate better than the others. Sikhs have caused our worst ever terrorist incident and there is still far too much interest in violence in that community. They also can have backward values, though these seem based on culture not religion, so will eventually evaporate. Same for the Hindus, who, for the most part, seem far less religious than the other two groups. The Muslims seem to be addicted to the idea of being part of a world-wide community of Islam. Far too many would welcome the thought of a theocracy, esp a world-wide Muslim theocracy, or "caliphate", which makes them dangerously prone to seduction by extremists bent on using violence to further those goals.1 point
