Kind of, have you seen a lot of these welfare people? They are mistaken for whales on the beach. Extremely obese is not being healthy and creates a lot health problem which by the way WE are paying for because they get free healthcare too.

I remember when I was a kid we were poor and my mother worked 2 jobs because she felt like being on welfare/food stamps was embarassing. That is why its such a problem now because we have lost any sense of shame for not being able to provide for our families.

Its supposed to be a safety net you are not meant to get a pillow and blanket and make yourself comfortable in it.

Alcohol isn't food, neither are cigarettes... other than that,  if you qualify for food stamps (via means test) I don't like the idea of government telling people what they can and can't eat.

There's an interesting shift in perspective here, I perceive that conservative minded folks are in favour of the restrictions and liberals opposed, I'd submit that both parties have issues with consistency.

Be careful what you wish for, telling people what they can and can't eat is a close cousin of telling them where they can and can't walk during a drought.

Here's why it's best to be cautious with such things (IMO)... right now, I (and a lot of other old school liberals) think fat people should be entitled to health care regardless of their complicity in causing the disease that ails them... don't make us change our minds, you might just succeed and there are as many fat conservatives as there are fat liberals.

Why not ban them from buying pet food, red meat, any processed foods at all? Now about bread and canned soup, they can make their own too. Raw noodles only, no Mr Noodles.

There are already many restrictions on SNAP. Like, you can't use it to go pay for lap dances at the strip club either! OMG, the humanity!
