Mr. Cornservative stuck in the past, "Our PM" did no such thing. The one your accusing of that is GONE

His cabinet, and his advisors and all these people are still there. Nothing is changed

No Canadian companies submitted a bid and no pipeline proposal has been put forward. Snide comments don't work unless you know the facts.

What has that got to do with a bean counter's concept of national security?

Snide remarks , no just pointing our some of the doublespeak coming from BC premier....about how concerned he is about federal taxpayers money and how he does not want to waste it...and then how he has his own hands out looking for projects he wants....Lots of shipbuilders here in Canada probably did not hear about your ferries....and of all places China, great optics.......i guess we should ask who all the major contributors were to his campaign....

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

No doublespeak....  we just spent ~$34.2B on TMX that is running at 80% capacity.  Eby is saying shovels ready to go in the ground for LNG, mining, hydro and wind projects, where this is no backed proposal for a pipeline on the table.

Lots of ship builders....just not the capacity to build BC ferries requirements - Domestic shipyards, including Seaspan, did not submit bids for BC Ferries’ latest procurement, and they generally have not done so for the past 20 years. This raises questions about whether British Columbia’s shipbuilding industry has the capacity or economic incentive to compete in commercial procurements without similar policy support to what exists under the NSS.

No shit Dick Tracey 😂

Our PM said "We are phasing out the oil sands" and then they put an anti-pipelines bill through the HoC, do you expect a lineup of people looking to invest in Canadian oil?

If they said "We're closing off fishing off the east coast for ten years", do you think that people would be lining up to build canneries and fish processing plants there you f'n ret4rd?

When did he say that??  What bill? Not the one every conservative voted for is it??? LOL

Prove your BS.

It is you that is a " f'n ret4rd?

That is double speak. The one leads to the other. We spent 34 billion because the liberal government screwed a 5 billion dollar project up so bad that costs inflated to that point. That was on the liberals entirely, private Enterprise doesn't make that kind of mistake. The tolls on the pipeline are so high that companies can't afford to move oil through it effectively. The government refuses to lower the tolls to something closer to a market rate because then they'll never be able to sell the pipeline, but that's not how money works.

The government needs to eat They're over expenditure which really is less money than they spend on consultants every year that are their buddies and bring the cost down to something reasonable and build another pipeline letting the market do it this time so the price makes it usable.

But I love that you're trying to pretend that a massive government screw up somehow means that private sector oil companies can't make a profit on pipelines.

This one?

https://www.parl.ca/documentviewer/en/42-1/bill/c-69/first-reading

So smart ass, where in the bill does it say "We are phasing out the oil sands" and then they put an anti-pipelines bill through the HoC,"?

It is not in your comic book repertoire so, I am sure you will find it interesting reading to prove your point and find the reference to your buddys BS statement LOL

Seems to me that C-5 , which all the conservatives voted for has pipelines and oil sands project approvals in it. LOL

Ahhh, paraphrasing? So paraphrasing is just more BS then??? LOL

C-5 which every conservative voted for is exactly energy development in Canada.

So, the brain damage seems to be your issue LOL

What would he be referencing (or paraphrasing as you say) if it was not "C69" as you implied???

Seems to me that you push out so much BS that you confuse yourself.  LOL

Oh and also, it seems you need to get on some meds... LOL

As stated, there has been no pipeline plan put forward and there is still a federal tanker ban on the north coast. So far it is just an Alberta want with no plan.

Actually that's not quite true. Enbridge has come forward and said they would love to present a plan, but the current laws and regulations make it impossible. They even advise what would need to change.

So in fact there is a willing private partner in this that would love to move forward but they can't because the current regulation makes it cost prohibitive or impossible.

At the moment the left argument is that we have passed enough laws and regulations to make it impossible to present a plan, and therefore the fact that there is no plan is proof that nobody wants to. You don't need me to explain why that logic is faulty I'm sure.

sure,  but BC did not spend anything on TMX, and lets face it it was not one of the liberals finest hours purchasing a pipeline to start with......Can you even run a pipeline at 100 % capacity ,or is there some safety rule or other reasoning we are not mentioning....EBY is competing for national tax dollars for BC projects it would be to his best interest to down sell Alberta's projects, which are not very popular with BC interests...no proposal yet....

couple of points, it is only an economically incentive when it is a military contract, then we can build whatever we want for triple the price...just to keep canadians ship yard workers working.... instead we go to China which can build anything for nothing...what happened to keeping Canadians employed...and our tax dollars inside Canada...and the optics are terrible on this...

Eby is not a total dictatorial a$$hole like Trump who's going to pre-approve things that don't exist without majority support.

And theere aren't "lots of" shipbuilders in Canada that can build large vessels. TWhat's left of the ones that can are building shit for the Navy and Coast guard.

You do not get what you want by DEMANDING it of others. Danielle obviously never got turned over a knee and spanked for demanding to get what she wanted.

you guys keep repeating that like it is impossible to do...Why would Alberta be pushing it if there was no plan in the works...most of those provincial requests are just plans on someone's wall...not sure why you would dismiss it outright...when the entire idea here is to create an energy corridor, to make Canada more prosperous...or do you dislike alberta that much ?

BC already has a pipeline to tide water carrying over 800,000 barrels a day. It also has a natural gas pipeline and LNG plant exporting gas. The East has done SFA to facilitate exports so until it does, put a sock in it.

No but ebys is going to do what his province wants him to do....THE entire point of these projects is to create an energy corridor for the entire "nation"....to boast our nations' GDP by geting our resources to market...not just BC but the entire nation........and it sounds like BC does not want to play.... which is fine but don't be surpised when BC projects don't get approved either ....me personally think the whole idea was more than canada could handle, good idea, but we do not know how to play on one team....we have proven over and over we can not get major projects done, it is mission impossible...and with everyone pandering for the same funding it is going to be cut throat...

well western oil is going to manitoba first...thats the first pipeline....The east will get plenty of pipelines in time...And if the liberals don't have the balls to just drive a pipeline through Quebec then the conservatives will...I did not know you can only have one pipeline per province...or you did not need the jobs, and like i said before this is a NATION building exercise to build an energy corridor across the country...why is this so hard to understand...what is wrong with two pipelines...three pipelines...it creates jobs and income...what about those things don't you like...

Sure, let me know when it happens. Until then, BC is the only province exporting oil or gas to anywhere other than the US.

Can be debate some of reasons but can't debate the end cost...not good at all.  TMX has been a benefit for companies with contracts with increased production and pricing because of the access.  Eby is like any other Premier, lobbying on behalf of his own interests.  No pipeline project to talk about so deflecting and lobbying.

Going to China saved $1.2B. They're also looking for delivery in 2029 to 2031 for an out-dated fleet so would have had to wait longer. The optics suck and ideally you want to keep it in Canada, but $1.2B is a lot of money.

Op-ed in Vancouver Sun titled: Opinion: When governments lack the fiscal discipline to preserve options, their foreign policy becomes reactive, not deliberate. Values get sidelined not by choice but by necessity

When fiscal constraints force decisions that run counter to strategic objectives, it weakens a country’s ability to act consistently in matters of international concern.

In 2023/24, Marine Atlantic got 192 million in federal subsidies. BC ferries got 35.6 million. I really don't like the idea of buying Chinese either but there are financial realities. Korea builds lots of ships if we must buy Asian.

Eby opposes another pipeline because the NDP ideology says oil bad.  He's fighting climate change.  Carney will do nothing because he also is a globalist fighting climate change, same as Trudeau and Guilbeault.   Canada's energy industry will continue being hampered while the oil production in other countries charges ahead.  Nothing new.
