I guess that the Muslims feel that if they punish the hell out of the democrats today then they'll stop trying to walk both sides of the fence and come out firmly on their side next time One of the problems with Harris's campaign is that she tried to be a little bit political tofu. Want to fight inflation Oh I'm great for that, want to kill Israel I'm your person, hate Gaza? Me too. Want more free government benefits? Vote for me. Want less spending? I'm your girl She spent the first half of the campaign trying to basically say vote for me because I'm so excited and I laugh all the time and I'm so brat and so cool, and then the last half basically not really having any kind of firm identity. She refused to differentiate herself from Biden, she didn't present herself as being any particular thing or with a particular identity and unfortunately it just looks like people did not believe in her 2 minutes ago, DUI_Offender said: It's over. I mean sure, it probably is. But it's not actually over and there's still mail in votes to be counted and they tend to favor Harris. We've woken up to surprises before. I mean trump is still 50 votes away From victory, that is not a small number considering the size of the places that are left Quote

Realistically Georgia Arizona wisconsin michigan and Pennsylvania are all in play that's like 72 votes My prediction, those exact same states were dragging out their results in 2020. This doesn't happen organically. Machines can count quickly. People can figure this out... Quote

Well I know a lot of states have stopped doing that thing where they dump all the mail in votes into the system at once. When they did that before there were massive swings and people thought it looked really fishy so they've been adding the mail in votes throughout the evening as they're counted. So a lot of the mailings have already been added to the counts and while there are definitely still some out there and even some same day voting it's not like last time where there's going to all of a sudden be several hundred thousand votes show up out of nowhere. But even with what's left a lot of the states are close enough that it could flip in theory pennsylvania being a bit of a nail biter. It's looking very good for trump but it could still theoretically go the other way and he will have a tough time winning without it Quote

Also the 2020 election had over 155 million votes cast, while this one, that energized the public on both sides to save their country, only has around 128 million at this point. 27 million less votes cast when over 10 million new voters were let into the country(or thereabouts)? An interesting anomaly. Quote

I could have ran a better campaign than the Democrats. Losers. Well in order to be fair here I pointed out even before they appointed Kamala that whoever they picked was going to have one hell of a time with it because it is brutally hard to put together a good campaign and execute it in less than a year, never mind a few months. Very talented leaders can sometimes do it, but Kamala was not made vice president because she was a talented leader. I think anyone in her position, with her level of brand recognition being fairly low, and with never having actually run in a federal nomination (she quit before the first vote) never mind for president, she was in an uphill battle from the start and even a seasoned pro would have struggled with that But yea that was a bad campaign. 2 minutes ago, DUI_Offender said: now that Trump might become president again. - Palestinians will no longer exist. - Ukraine will be taken over by Russia (Russia will attempt to move further into Europe). - We will be paying 3k more per year because of Trumps tarrifs. - Our taxes will stay the same, but don’t worry because Elon Musk will see his taxes go down! - Women will no longer have access to healthcare. - Mass deportation of both illegal and legal immigrants (terrible for economy). - 6 Trillions will be added to the debt compared to Harris who was only going to add 2 trillion. Well he added mexico to that list but so far he's indicated that canada won't be affected. Of course Trump's opinions can change faster than Vancouver weather so, we'll see Quote

I favored Atlas Intel because they had the most accurate polls last season. The Senate is going to be interesting. RCP has 50 seats as a lock for R and 43 as a lock for D. TX is the easy toss up. Atlas has Ted up 7 and increasing. That should be a lock for R. D43/R51 WI is going to be a nail biter. The last three polls were R+1, tie, D+1. I'm leaning D here because the last poll did. I wouldn't be surprised either way. If Trump wins the state, though, advantage goes to R. D44/R51 PA is close, but D+2 was the last poll by Atlas and Casey is an incumbent. D45/R51 OH has had a R lead in every poll. Last Atlas poll had R+3. D45/R52 NV is voting for Harris and just about every recent poll has D by 3 or more. D46/R52 AZ is anyone's guess. The last two polls have a tie. Trump wins AZ so his party gets the edge. D45/R53 MI will split their vote. Trump wins the state but the D wins the senate. D46/R54 I'm not confident with my AZ best guess. So I could see this being D47/R53 or even D48/R52 pretty easy. But there is a possibility it could be D45/R55 if things go very well and absolutely worst case, D49/R51. https://www.realclearpolling.com/maps/senate/2024/toss-up The House is far too big for me to predict. I'm hearing it will probably be a narrow R majority again. That would track with the Senate and Presidential outcomes. Well, if Trump does win the state's that haven't been called and he's leading in, my prediction is spot on. Also, Rs lead in 5 of the 7 uncalled Senate races. That would give them 56, if they all hold. I don't think they will all hold. So I probably come up short with my 55 prediction, but maybe not. It was surprising, but... margin of error... 19/20 times. All that. The Des Moines paper has been noted for its accuracy, especially on Republicans, and that shouldn't change. Nobody believed that Trump absolutely would lose Iowa. 5 hours ago, DUI_Offender said: Trump has said to anyone who will listen that he will impose 10% tariffs "across the board." What will be interesting with China is that the last trade war resulted in promises that China didn't keep. WIll he take them to task ? And - let's be honest. The economy wasn't good for working people. If the plan is to actually bring things back onshore, then the economy won't be good for working people for at least 10 years either... It would take at least that long to tool back up again I would guess... Edited November 6, 2024 by Michael Hardner Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
