Her best zinger of the night was "I was endorsed by your former staffers" and he fired back with "That's because I fire people for incompetence, but you never fired anyone, not even the people who were associated with Afghanistan or the economic disaster". That was arguably the best comeback I've ever seen in political discourse. 

Think of the contrast: even during a highly successful administration, Trump expected more from people and fired underachievers, while the Biden administration just lies about their failures instead of making necessary changes and holding people accountable. The Dems are the epitome of what citizens don't like about politicians: they overspend, lie, shirk responsibility, and then just make idle promises.

Kamala's "I no longer believe in all the foolish things I believed in when I was just 55" didn't work on any but the most clueless of cultists.

Reagan, Bush and Trump all made deficit spending explode.  Clinton balanced the budget.  Big differences between the two party.

For some reason the obvious answer to inflation - it’s a global problem after Covid in peer countries and the US is managing better than most - is considered unacceptable. So when asked about the economy, Harris went off on a tangent that included crowd size and wouldn’t you know poor old Donnie jumps right into that trap. I don’t listen to conservatives much but the ones I would pay attention to, eg at National Review, were furious at Trump and felt he missed many opportunities to put his case. I don’t think any reasonable person can say he didn’t lose that debate. Given that he spent so long telling us how talentless Harris was she had a low bar to clear which she easily did on the night.

It's not global at all. And the solution is to cut back gov't spending. Harris and biden did the opposite and harris is proposing MOAR of the opposite now.

I think that's' a reasonable assessment. He fell for the bait on more than one occasion and missed out on either making his own case for why he's better or often missed opportunity to point out why she's worse. It was a bad night for him 

This is the result of not practicing and preparing. He prefers to wing it and do minimal preparation and he thinks that that works better, and about 60% of the time he's right. 40% of the time it ends like this.

Most developed countries experienced peak inflation during Covid and are recovering but prices are still up, of course. Go to Europe and you’ll hear people complaining about the price of everything there as well.

During covid about 50% of the inflation that we ran into was directly related to global things that our government would have had no control over. That is very true. The rest of it involve things that the government could control but in reality some of it probably had to happen, such as cerb. That's a certain level of government overspending was going to be necessary in 2020 and 2021 and yes that led to some inflation but that doesn't make that spending wrong.

However that situation had changed considerably by 2022, and by 2023 it was 100% an internal problem.  And we are STILL over target. Like close to 50 percent over target. 

You are lying to yourself if you are telling yourself that this is some sort of weird global phenomenon that is out of our control. The reports have been posted by myself many times, it's easy to find if you want to look, the inflation we're experiencing since the tail end of 2022 as a result of spending by the governmentour immigration policy, and was offset by increase in interest rates which doesn't show up on the inflation charts but is in fact very inflationary in and of itself

Cut government spending, reduce the number of immigrants, it all goes away. It's that simple

This is true. Americans have no perspective on inflation and how bad it can actually get. And any presidential candidate claiming they are going to fix the tiny bit of extra inflation we have is lying. Monetary policies by central bankers is the only tool in the toolbox and it's beyond the control of presidents and is going to happen the same way regardless of who is president. Harris did at least try to acknowledge the supply chain aspect of it, but even that is generally beyond a president to mitigate.

Not sure you've thought this through. Having DA, AG and US Senator on one's resume is rather classic qualification for VP or POTUS.

Contrast that with reality TV host, or author-turned politician. Underqualified white men are the original bias hire, going strong for a coupla centuries now.
