The Auditor General of Canada found serious issues with the federal government's awarding of contracts in her report.

"Hogan audited 33 of the 97 contracts granted to McKinsey since 2011 and found that there were issues in over half (19) of them, such as why the contract was needed, what were the expected deliverables and if they were all provided, and whether the “ultimate intent” of the contract was met."

Ottawa frequently ignored its own contracting rules when hiring consulting firm McKinsey, auditor general says (msn.com)

In other news, the sun rose in the east this morning....

that trudeau breaks the rules to give money contracts to his 'friends' is simply not news. The scum has to go, and anyone who supported him in the last election is basically a piece of crap who should have known better.

The question i have is the liberals still enjoy a 20 plus percentage of voters....still...either liberal voters expect this kind of behavior and approve of it...or they are are some of the stupidest people on earth...If there is another option please someone please point it out...Are canadians just this stupid...unaware, or just don't care wither way it does not point favorably towards Canada's left...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Two things can be true.

Honestly - i think in some parts of canada, namely ontario and quebec, there is not only a high tolerance for corruption but also almost an admiration for it. Like they think that a politician isn't a POWERFUL leader worthy of respect unless he's able to successfully be corrupt and make money under the table etc.

Remember - trudeau lost the popular vote in the last two elections. Ontario and quebec kept him in power. Chretien was also hugely popular there, as was the first corrupt trudeau.

Not all ontarians and not all quebecers obviously - but i think that's a popular opinion there. The same people tolerated the provincial libs despite over a decade of corruption and mismanagement etc. And Doug ford was never as popular as when he was accused of being corrupt.

And then there's those who just don't think about it - they've decided they're a liberal and have no idea what's actually going on with politics and have no intention of paying attention anytime soon. They just shuffle along and vote for the liberal symbol on their voter card.

About 30% of Canadians eligible to vote pay no taxes whatever. (GST? They buy food, pay rent - get a refund.)

For these people, any discussion of taxes (up/down) is irrelevant. They have no skin in the game.

The odd thing about these people is that they're often discussed as though they have a 'free ride'

50% in Ontario is about $35K which gives you NET pay of about $2,200 a month.  This is the so-called 'middle class'.   This is the economy that the Trudeaus, the Chretiens, the Mulroneys and Harpers have given us.

There is a simple solution.

Drill baby drill. Leave farmers, miners and forestry alone. Stop spending money we don't have. Close the border.

Do that...and watch the Canadian economy take off.

Geopolitics plays a role though.  For example, We're not going to be allowed to trade with China freely if Trump gets elected.

Close the Border means no immigration I guess?  Nobody's seriously proposing that.

Why would that be odd?  You find it odd that someone who isn't paying for the services they receive would be referred to in a manner that suggests that they're not paying for the services that they receive?

What's odd is that you would say that in the first place.

And what's that got to do with the people he mentioned?

Once again you are dishonestly attempting to change the channel. He mentions those people who don't pay taxes. You ignore that and then substitute a group that is paying taxes.

If you can't address his point, and you know that he's right to begin with, then why comment at all?

You are wrong. Dead wrong about Canada in this century.

Bread is not taxed. Poor and smart people do not have a car.

Sure i am...if that makes you sleep better.

Your insinateing that poor people pay no taxes....taxes are deducted from their paychecks, Yes they might get a refund but it does not cover what they pay out in taxers....starting to sound like a liberal and explaining the carbon tax rebates.....

.on every product they buy with some exception on food stuffs as you pointed out.....and in your mind poor people do not drive cars...which is just uninformed, how many high school / university students drive cars not mentioning the thousands on welfare...

This government is extremely wasteful, I would agree with that.  They seem pretty apathetic to waste.  They're pretty bad at management.

Which government?

Federal or provincial?

Canada is a federal state with various governments.

And fair enough, but I suspect it could apply to both fairly easily the vast majority of the time

Governments are not designed to be efficient. That is not their point. They are designed to reliably provide the same quality of service consistently and to a specific standard And to avoid accountability at all costs.

That's why you have to be very careful when you choose to hire government to do things and when you choose to look at a private solution. Government is great for certain things but it is a bad choice for every thing.

I wouldn't say NO immigration, but none from countries without a complementary culture and none who don't have a professional contribution (outside of drug dealing) and no economic "refugees".

FInally WHY would you want ANY immigration at all?   Do you hate Canada and Canadians?
