Well actually there is a trucker's boycott and it seems like it got a little worse on monday but there's a lot of people making claims about it, saying it was already in the works and has more to do with new york's policies than trump and yadda yadda.   But without a doubt even the lefties are admitting there is one, they just feel it was preexisting and for other reasons.

Also stop thinking about dicks no matter what day it is. Not that there's anything WRONG  with that (we're not here to judge. Well...maybe nationalist but MOST of us aren't  here to judge.  well... SOME of us aren't here to judge.)

Okay folks, you’ve been flinging poo at each other for this entire thread, just like most of these threads.  WHAT DOES IT ACCOMPLISH??

Back to the thread topic, I think that if truckers boycott NY it would be a shame, because it would hurt the common people.  But I understand the outrage.  The truckers may bring commerce to a halt.

All real estate tycoons in NY operate the same way for which Trump was found guilty.  And just as Trudeau freezing bank accounts in Canada, this court decision in NY has caused an unintended earthquake.  No one wants to be the next found guilty for doing business in New York.

If I was Trump I’d let them seize his properties.  Let that sink in among the wealthy, they’ll leave New York in droves.

5 days ago I suggested that the wealthy would leave NY in droves.  And it looks like this ridiculous ruling against Trump is indeed waking up wealthy business owners.  Because that judge made it illegal to negotiate with a bank.

Lets say you want a loan to build a new skyscraper.  You own one already, and go to the bank for a loan against your property because you want to build another one.

You put your property at a worth of 500 million.  The bank says no, it’s only worth 450 million.  So you negotiate with the bank and come up with a number that both AGREE on.  And you get the loan.

Every single business person that wants to borrow against their business does this.  The banks do this.  Now in NY, any business’s past negotiations can be deemed illegal.

This is 100 times worse than what Trudeau did when he had citizen’s bank accounts seized.  It has singlehandedly changed the game for doing business in NY.

And this realization has spread across the nation.  Independent truckers have every right to  decline a load they don’t want to haul.  The governor of NY better wake the hell up if she thinks trying to seize bank accounts and homes will help the situation.

Your use of a ~10% disagreement in valuation is a WILD false equivalency with Trump's practices in AMOUNTS for DECADES.

Which you SHOULD KNOW if you read the court filings.

You obviously KNOW NOTHING about NYS's HISTORY.

Trump bought his children's innocence with a $50K campaign contribution.

Manhattan DA reportedly dropped felony fraud case against Trump's kids after donation from Trump's lawyer

Quote

In 2012, Kasowitz reportedly donated $25,000 to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.'s reelection campaign in 2012, according to the report. He then went to Vance directly and made the same argument defense lawyers had previously made which, at the time, didn't appear to sway prosecutors about the merits of the case.

Vance returned Kasowitz's campaign contribution shortly before the meeting, but three months later, Vance told his staff to drop the case, according to the investigation. Less than six months later, Kasowitz again donated to Vance's campaign, this time totaling more than $50,000.

SOP for Trump in NY.

That’s not what happened in the Trump case.
Trump’s home in his tower is 10,000 sq feet. Trump repeatedly stated that it was 30,000.  He added five floors to his buildings.   This isn’t “negotiable”.  He knew the square footage and then number of floors.

The judge said he accepted that there’s a subjective aspect of evaluations and a 20% variance is not unreasonable.  And that’s exactly what you’re arguing — 20%.  Judge said 20% is no problem. Trumps exaggerations were far greater.

Surely there is more to the case than that, a dscrepency that goes back to 1994.  That the banks and corporations Trump did business with had 30 years to do something about but never did.  In fact, banks testified FOR Trump in the case, defending him.  And if you can think critically, you can see that this isn't worth a 350,000,000 fine, plus interest.  If he had done something illegal he would have been charged decades ago.

So please, tell me the rest of the case, or at least what the MSM is saying.

The banks know how big his property is and approximately what it was worth - if they had the slightest concerns or if it mattered they'd have sent an appraiser.  Who EVER heard of a bank lending money based on real estate primarily without sending an appraiser. Like - ever in history.  Doesn't happen.

He signed his assets over as collateral and the bank was obviously entirely satisfied that it was more than enough to cover the loans and they leant the money and made profit.

This is all fake crap.

Trump may well have done other things in the past which are scummy but that does NOT justify weaponizing the courts in this case.

This is pretty simple. There is a law which states that if you give false information when securing a loan then even if no party is harmed the state can still file a charge against you. The reason that they do this is so that if somebody attempts to genuinely defraud a bank but then pays off the loan when they're caught the state can still Levy fine against them to discourage others.

They are grossly abusing this law to attempt to drain Trump of campaign finances for his election. The Democrats will be quietly saying "if you give him donations for his campaign won't he just use it to pay his bills?"

The banks had a solid idea of his net worth. He probably reused the same applications again and again and again and didn't even glance at it. The banks obviously didn't care, if they were genuinely concerned they would have sent over an appraiser but obviously the exact value of the property was not something they were worried about. In addition the actual resale value of the property has not been questioned by the judge or the prosecution. They feel that because the amount that his property taxes state the property was worth is different that is sufficient, but the value of every single property everywhere in North America is different than its tax assessed value

This is a Witch Hunt. They are weaponizing the courts to try and hurt him for political reasons. Some have suggested that because Trump is a bad person and they don't like him and they feel that he has done bad things in the past that this excuses this kind of behavior.

Leftists talk about Trump's penis non-stop. They have legal teams dedicated to it.

When Biden came into the WH, and CNN turned off the covid death tracker at the bottom of the screen, they added a pecker tracker.

When I see that 10,000 sq ft number, it's just a number that is estimated by the author of a magazine article.

  • The President may be pulling his inflated square footage number from shared spaces of the building, Forbes reports. "Instead, 'common elements'—things like hallways and elevators—and mechanical space appear to take up the rest of the area Trump claims to live in," the magazine's report reads. "The residents of Trump Tower likely own these areas through their condo association, their stakes divvied up based on the size of their apartments."

FYI when you calculate the sq footage of a home, the hallways, closets and even void spaces inside of the walls count towards the total. Any hallways that Trump has exclusive use of count as his sq footage. If there's a lock on the elevator preventing other owners/tenants in the building from getting off on his floor, then every sq inch of that floor actually counts as his sq footage. Even the inside of the elevator shaft. You literally just measure the perimeter of the building and calculate the area from that. There are no subtractions.

The correct figure is the liveable area, not support facilities.

I'm very happy to hear that you have an active imagination.

However, Trump's attorneys had their day in court and were able to present any evidence they wished to counter the claim that Trump's 10,996 sq foot penthouse was actually 30,000 square feet. They failed to do so. So, elevator shaft or not, it's 10,996, not 30,000. It's part of two stories of the building, not the entirety of three stories, as Trump has often claimed.

As for an elevator shaft... ok, fine... but an elevator is only around 6x6 feet, or 36 square feet. You're trying to replace square feet with cubic feet. It doesn't work that way. Also, there are standardized guildelines for evaluating square footage in real estate, such as this document from Fannie Mae. Common areas aren't considered square footage, and neither are refinished attics or basements, unless they are permitted habitable spaces which meet all applicable codes. This was a big part of Trump's problems: None of his people could answer any questions about generally accepted accounting principles or standard appraisal methods. If they simply said, "We comply to the XYZ appraisal standard," or "We hire independent, credentialed firms to appraise," or "We use our own formulae based upon evaluating comparable units, etc.," but none of the Trump people could say that. Trump himself said he would just use a "hunch" to establish value. Well... that's just nonsense.

It's still not 10,996 sq feet, because the hallways do count when he owns the whole floor and has exclusive access to them. I never said anything about using the cubic feet of the elevator shaft any more than the hallways.

When you own the entire floor of a building, the hallways aren't "common areas".

There might be some grey area if you just bought all the rooms on one floor, so the hallways were common area for a period of time, but Trump built the building and kept the whole floor. The hallways were never "common areas". No other owner or tenant in that building has ever had access to them and they will never get access to them.

Even if you bought all the rooms on one floor, I guess that you could purchase the hallways from the strata corp at an agreed upon price.

In any event, if the hallway is just his, it counts. It counts in your house and my house and everyone else's house, even if they live in an apartment that's strata.
