Where is thy clout?

You don't matter anymore?

Hundreds of Canadians remain trapped in Gaza as foreign nationals from other countries have been able to cross into Egypt.

No Canadian was on the latest list published by Gaza border authorities of those approved to leave on Friday.

One family said they received a call from Canadian officials to be ready at a moment's notice, but have not yet been informed on when they could leave.

Canada has registered about 450 of its citizens who want to leave Gaza.

So far, dozens of Americans have been able to leave in the last three days. People from other countries, including Britain, Sri Lanka, Mexico and European nationals have either left or are on the approved list to leave.

What's the real reason why no Canadians are included?

.......many see staying as an act of defiance, a chance to fight for change.

There.

Many opt to stay and fight for change.

Meaning....................To fight against israel.

Canada's reputation for harboring terrorists, doesn't help at all.

That must be the reason why Canadians are having a hard time to leave.  Many are enemies of Israel.

Israeli ministry 'concept paper' proposes transferring Gaza civilians to Egypt's Sinai, with Canada as a possible final destination

Nothing that elections can do about the inequity of deaths.

Do you propose that Israel take a one for one approach to dealing with terrorist Hamas? Should the atrocity on Oct 7 be repeated by Israel on Hamas civilians?

There is no moral equivalence here between what Hamas did and the response of the IDF.

The irony of Canada being soft on terrorism is that the terrorist-led country of Gaza doesn’t respect Canada.

Canada is a country run by equity activists who are enabled by too many dim and cowardly people.  Canada is down the list in the pecking order, and smaller countries are getting more pull.  Project weakness and suffer the consequences.

Also, Trudeau has sold out Canada.  He and his activist friends have labeled Canada settler-colonialist, which undermines Canada’s stature.  This is the fruit of all the identity politics fluff Canada has peddled for the past several years.

Point is "its OK to kill 10 times as many Palestinian men, women and children"?

"the atrocity on Oct 7" be retaliated by killing more than 10 times the amount of men women, children and babies? That is justified?

I could not care less if they wipe each other out but, to condemn one party without condemning the other is hypocrisy at its worst.

Don't wanna real war? Don't attack other countries.

Its no secret I have no love for zionists. But what Gaza did is abhorrent and they get what they wanted. Real war with Israel.

You’re missing the critical distinction. Israel didn’t do a surprise attack on civilians to start this.  Israel’s mission is to root out Hamas, not kill innocent people.

I would wager that the casualty numbers in Gaza are mostly the result of collateral damage because of the longstanding Hamas policy of using their own women and children as human shields. This despite the best efforts of the IDF to avoid civilian casualties.

That is the key difference between Hamas and Israel. Hamas wants as many dead Israelis...and Gazans, as they can get.

Yes.  I get the whole criticism of Israel: apartheid state, control of resources, etc., but Gazans elected Hamas and put Israel in a position of having to defend itself.  I opposed the settlements in the West Bank, and there are radicals in the Knesset who took a hard line, but I’m not sure Israel has any choice but to be militant.  It’s false to call the Indigenous of Israel, the Jews, settler colonialists. Yes Palestinians were there too.  Unfortunately sharing the land doesn’t work for some people. People have to protect their families and communities. Hamas blew it. This was not the way to improve conditions for Gaza, because Hamas seeks the destruction/removal of Israel.

Canada has sunk very low on many issues.

The list is so long.   Just pick a subject.

Trudeau's superiority in saying there will absolutely be NO MORE CARVEOUTs of the carbon tax just proves his arrogance.  He could care less about Canadians.  The only reason he gave a break to the Atlantic provinces is because Liberal voters in that area were turning against him.  Everything he does is geared to the next election.  But he has made grave mistakes and has gone down in the polls a long way.

But never underestimate the cunning abilities of liberal politicians.  We can be sure they are scheming for the next election and will have something up their sleeve.

So, one side protects families and communities and the other "blew it" when they protect families and communities.

It is OK to create 10 ford deaths in retaliation?

One side hates the other with as much fervour as the other.

Pro Palestinian (not hamas) demonstrations are happenong all over the world.  People are demonstrating in support as opposed to the political thing some governments are doing and saying.

Again, give them both nukes and let them wipe each other out

Blame HAMAS for that.

It's HAMAS that DELIBERATELY built their bunkers and tunnels underneath schools, refugee camps, hospitals and homes!

It doesn't takes a genius to figure out why.

Innocent Palestinians,  should see Israel's invasion as a......................BLESSING!

After all, who wants to see themselves - especialy their children - as convenient HUMAN SHIELDS?

This is Gaza's LIBERATION from a monster! Gazans should pray Israel wins this war.

The moral equivalence people are making is still the same one they've made for decades - between what Israel has done to Palestine and other places where the colonization, occupation and subjugation of the people who live there occur.

You're falling into the trap that says history started on Oct 7.

Well the palestinians sure seem to think so.  They could stop that tomorrow by NOT having their combatants hide behind those women and children.  OR by surrendering and ending the war that THEY started.

But nope - they're down with it.  It's a shame they're so willing to see their own people suffer.

You better get your facts straight:

It's Hamas, and other Islamists that are planning to do a genocide on Israel.   They don't even make any secrets about their intention.

Understanding Hamas’s Genocidal Ideology

A close read of Hamas’s founding documents clearly shows its intentions.

https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2023/10/hamas-covenant-israel-attack-war-genocide/675602/

Hamas calls for 'annihilation' of Israel and promised to repeat the horrific attacks of October 7 'again and again'

'Israel is a country that has no place on our land. We must remove that country,' said the terrorist group's former Foreign Minister Ghazi Hamad.

Asked on Lebanese TV if that meant the annihilation of Israel, he replied: 'Yes, of course.

'The existence of Israel is what causes all that pain, blood and tears… and must be finished. '

Hamas is the freakin' NAZIs all over again.

I wonder what the world sees when we openly sent Jewish refugees packing and then secretly welcomed Nazi refugees.

Its not like Canada has fallen from a great height of any sort - I see it as more like a continuous stumbling.

Nope - sorry, no equivilancy there in the slighest. Palestine has played an active role in what 'has been done' to them and  could have had a much different outcome, and it's no excuse to kill women and children.  You terrorist supporters are all the same - "gosh it's not THEIR fault they burned babies!"

This war started on oct 7th.  Saying anything else is a lie to excuse the killing of women and children.

And every single death is on the hands of the people who started the war.  Every dead palestinian is directly the fault of the gaza Palestinians.

The only  thing we can hope for now is that enough of them are killed and have their lives destroyed that the survivors come to the conclusion that starting a conflict like this again must NEVER happen. Maybe then it'll be possible some day to find permanent peaceful solutions that work for everyone.
