Yes, and I sympathize with the people of Russia who are victims of the Russian government, just like the Ukrainians.

However, the reason so many Republicans and righty pundits are rooting for Russia is because Putin is a fascist. It's the same reason CPAC invited Viktor Orbán to speak, it's why Fox celebrated Giorgia Meloni's win in Italy, and why Trump wants America to have "quick trials like in China."

The vaccine was indeed legally enforced in Canada, For many if you didn't take it you faced punishment of losing your job, your right to travel, your right to gather for religious purposes, etc etc.

Even the gov't doesn't deny it - they and others claim that it was NECESSARY to enforce it on Canadians. And you can make that case but you can't claim it wasn't enforced.

Coercion absolutely does meet the dictionary definition of 'forced':

They're definitely being threatened with harm tho. If they lose their income in the middle of a pandemic how will they pay for their home, their food, their children's needs? What about their pensions - they may have counted on those for retirement and now they lose access to being able to fund them or may lose what they've donated so far depending how long their worked.

You are at BEST seriously threatening their way of life, at worst they could wind  up impoverished and on the street.

That's a serious enough threat to qualify for coersion i think.

Like i said - you could argue that it was NECESSARY because you believe that covid was such a threat that we HAD to force people to abandon their rights in favour of the greater good, but i don't think you could argue that it wasn't forced.  And frankly i think you'd be on thin ice with the 'greater good' argument as well but at least that's more debateable.
