Are American elections rigged?

That's totally crazy that it's done that way in AZ. Incumbent runs the election, eh? Tammany Hall revisited.

As I pointed out after the Big Lie, the US could have arranged to have the UN or something come and run their elections.

The spectacle of the Shiniest Beacon for democracy on the planet cocking up its elections the way it does must have dictators around the world ROFL.

Perhaps. But a little common sense wouldn't hurt as well. As I understand it, Hobbs decided to reduce the number of polling stations. This was a very stupid decision.

Also false. You don't seem to actually know ANYTHING about this voting situation in Arizona which has got you in such a conspiratorial tizzy.

The polling locations are determined at the county level, by the Board of Supervisors. Here is the law.

  • 16-411. Designation of election precincts and polling places; voting centers; electioneering; wait times
  • A. The board of supervisors of each county, on or before October 1 of each year preceding the year of a general election, by an order, shall establish a convenient number of election precincts in the county and define the boundaries of the precincts as follows:

Reducing the number of locations is also a mixed bag. After the (conservative led) Supreme Court chipped away at the Voting Rights Act back in 2016, Republican areas across the country started cutting back on polling locations in a not-so-subtle effort to suppress minority voting. Maricopa County, which, again, has a Republican Board of Supervisors, cut a shit-ton of polling locations before the 2020 election. But they added a handful back this year and switched to vote centers (vote any any of them instead of your assigned precinct).

My point here is not to be YOUR personal fact checker, but to say just spend 2 minutes to educate yourself on something before forming- and especially before sharing- an opinion. Don't just parrot what some asshat says on Twitter or a chain email or something. Literally everything you've complained about and theorized as a potential Democratic election tampering is a) not tampering by either party, but just an imperfect reality, and b) under the control of Republicans anyway.

Except most states managed.

Isn't it "interesting" that the 2 senate seats left, with control of the senate in the balance, can't seem to count?

No, it's not interesting. They are the 2 seats left BECAUSE they are having a slow count. Is that not obvious?

And more, smaller polling stations.

Did you conveniently forget that?

'OH our printers don't work.'

Forget that one too?

Nah, I didn't forget anything. It just takes a touch longer to share facts than to spew out bogus claims and random innuendo.

What's obvious is stupid people should not be put in charge of anything past wiping their own asses.

Hobbs has nothing to do with counting ballots. That was confirmed by the head of the head of the Board of Election Supervisors for Maricopa County. A Republican.

And yet Florida and most states were able to produce results on election night.

Why would anyone argue that this is anything but incompetence?

Nevada law allows mail in ballots to be counted if received by SATURDAY, so they take longer.

In a close election, ballots sent by overseas servicemen matter and it can take over a week to receive them.

You want to deny the soldiers their vote? UnAmerican? Oh, I guess you ARE.

I still don't understand why normal election day voting on paper isn't being used. All this turkey shit does is create suspicion.

And the truth about electronic voting machines is...they can ALL be hacked.

This was common knowledge just a few years ago.

Maybe you would know better if YOU had the ELITE KNOWLEDGE of EXPERTS.

What is happening? Are you playing dumb, or is it real? Am I not spoonfeeding you enough links? In AZ, the actual execution of elections is conducted at the county level. The SoS has oversight responsibilities, but she's not running any election operations. That's the county Board of Supervisors (again, Republican BoS in Maricopa).

Great, it sounds like you've come around to the idea of electing Democrats. Welcome back to reality!

Maybe with your help AZ can rid itself of it's Republican Governor, Republican Senate, Republican House, and Maricopa's Republican Board of Supervisors, who were managing the election for the county.

Real news instead of some random internet kook

While Maricopa County election officials initially categorized the problem as a "hiccup," it took hours before a solution was identified early Tuesday afternoon. The fallout over the course of the day forced officials to scramble on messaging and push back on claims that sought to question the integrity of the election.

"Everyone is still getting to vote. No one has been disenfranchised," Bill Gates, chairman of the Maricopa County board of supervisors and a Republican, told reporters in downtown Phoenix following reports of equipment problems Tuesday morning.

"When we test these machines, that's part of the process. We go through it for every election," he added. "And in this particular instance, this is something we didn't anticipate."

I told you exactly who is responsible and presented the documentation--including a quote from the Republican in charge of the operation- and you pretend like nothing ever happened.

And now you want to talk about honor and respect? No, let's not. Better to confine the conversation to subjects with which you are familiar.
