War In Ukraine

the ending where Ukraine comes back into the Russian fold or moves away from the West is not on the table anymore

don't have to arrive at the ending to know that Russia will be far worse off when this is over then when it started

I certainly hope they don't "come back into the Russian fold". But I do also hope they're smart enough to keep the EU and NATO at arm's length too. All three are vultures.

Actually...don't count your chickens. Russia is being backed by China and India...and Iran. That's a hefty swath of humans on this planet. They're being financed partially by Germany and other NATO/EU Nations in Rubels no less.

You should try thinking with your head...instead of Donna LeMon's head.

American actor and director Sean Penn called on billionaires to buy 12 fighter jets and missile defense systems for Ukraine. According to his calculations, it will cost $ 500 million.

"One billionaire could put an end to this war in Ukraine," the actor wrote on Twitter.

Sean, colleague, will you buy nice things for North Korea, Cuba, Libya, Iraq and Venezuela? For 100 million each country. In the name of peace on earth.

There is no limit to your worldwide bestiality. Be afraid of the ocean. He's still there.

none are backing Russia

you are simply prone to thinking Russia is ten feet tall

even when it is as clear as day

that they are really 1'4"

I am well aware of the media and Democrats

Russia hoax

just because someone disagrees with your assessment

doesn't mean they buy into it

your assessment is simply not good

just because you don't listen to them

doesn't mean you know what you are talking about

it takes more than not listening to mainstream media

to be informed

I know exactly what you said

you just think I don't get it

because I disagree with your conclusions

and you think that is only possible

if I don't understand

your assumption is that anyone who understands you would agree with you

but that is not case

but Russia is weak

they have nukes and oil

but that isn't enough for them achieve their aims in Ukraine

they've already lost

it's just a matter of how badly they lose now

One interesting aspect of this war is the high death-rate of Russian generals. After all, in war it is relatively rare that generals get killed. They are usually safely behind the lines drawing lines on maps and sending ordinary soldiers to their deaths.

Perhaps Ukraine gets valuable western military intelligence concerning the whereabouts of those generals.

On the other hand in the Russian army it is common that generals themselves have to go and kick the troops in the arse or otherwise nothing happens.

The generals may also face court martial if the military operation doesnt go smoothly, which prompts them to go themselves to the front-line.

plausibly a combination of both factors

the Russian communications are perhaps compromised by the NSA & GCHQ

SIGINT then providing the locations of the Russian General's being forced to try to lead from the front

Define lose.

It seems to me they will walk away with land access down to Crimea. Wasn't that the goal?

Ukraine will walk away with a little less land...very little...but with the accute attention of both NATO and Russia. Hopefully they'll know how to use the position.

Russia is losing????
Did you get anything wrong? God is with the Russians - and this spring will let you understand it (if you want to see and understand what is happening)

Russia with 6000 nukes invades a much smaller sovereign country that voluntarily gave up their nukes. If God is with the one with the 6000 nukes He must be playing a joke on us.

I think one thing we will ALL agree on figuring out what happens next is completely impossible.  And that has a direct role in my life looking to load up on some stocks.  Don't want to buy oil stocks for peace to break out next week.

Surely that uncertainty doesn't rule out military stocks.

The language of this forum is English. Or perhaps as this is a Canadian forum they can't stop you posting in French.

But that's about it. No Russian allowed.

Hmmm, I guess this must mean the Pope is with the sheeple and the MSM.

Quote

Pope Francis has tacitly criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin over the ongoing invasion of Ukraine and lamented what he described as the "dark shadows of war."

The pontiff referred to "some potentate" in his comments on Thursday as he took aim at "anachronistic" conceptions of national interest.

losing more than they gain

is losing

failing to meet their key objectives is losing

Russia can hold unto very little of it gains

and if all it wanted was land access to the Crimea

then explain all the forces near Kiev were about

they weren't trying to nibble away a little bit of Ukraine

they were trying to take the whole thing

they wanted a pro-Russian Ukraine

and have insured the continued existence of anti-Russian Ukraine

which they were trying to prevent

Perhaps.

I can tell you this though. In west Ukraine they hardly know there's a war going on.

they know there is a war going on

they just aren't on the frontlines

there is a difference

and the war certainly isn't moving them towards Russia

just the opposite

they are distancing themselves from Russia now more than ever

when this war was started to prevent that exact thing from happening

epic fail

You sure assume a lot.

3/4 of Ukraine is untouched. The Slovaks and Hungarians and Czechs are already tired of "refugees".

There will likely be no giant war between USA and Russia. The eastern border will be independent or formally Russian. You call that "epic fail". I call it the only good decision Biden has ever made.

This was all predetermined. Check Joe's speeches when this all started.

“It depends on what it does. It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion and then we end up having a fight about what to do and not do, et cetera.”

This was over before it started...

you assume that nibbling a little bit of Ukraine off temporarily

for the cost being incurred

is somehow a win for Russia

that is a far more ridiculous assumption than any assumption I make
