China screws us, we help them, they screw us again

The Chinese Fort Detrick being the source of the biological weapon is a no brainer

What Canada should do about the weapon smashing into Canada ?  No idea.  This is uncharted territory, that's why I am in my bunker

I don't know either, but I can still guess, even though it way above my pay grade. Could be totally wrong, I still don't let that stop me.

My guess is that it is kicking our asses right now, the bug is inside their decision making cycle and they are flailing

I could be, but then again, Oxford be saying this could also be less lethal than the season flu, mortality rate wise, even in Italy. The expert consensus projection seems to range from 20,000 to 2.2 million deaths in the US. So could be a nothing burger, or it could be a total viral ass kicking.

If it turns out to be a false alarm, praise the Lord

Since I can't help by any other means than simply to support the war effort that is,  rather than some perfect war effort that doesn't exist,  I simply obey the orders

This is the authority of the monarch being invoked, Queen Elizabeth II is issuing these orders, I'm a Loyalist Upper Canadian, so I obey the Queen

Them using the authority of the monarch to push their counter-productive orders is all the more reason to point out their incompetence. How is it supporting the Queen to cheer on the sullying of her name by incompetent buffoons? I for one do not support that sullying or the buffoons doing it, just because "it's a war".

So stop defending the buffoons when I attack them, since I am attacking those sullying the Queen you swore an oath to.

I'm not defending, I'm obeying, I said they are incompetent, but they are in charge, so there's nothing to argue about, it's a waste of energy

- In July 2019, China steals our infectious disease secrets at our National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg:  https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/chinese-researcher-escorted-from-infectious-disease-lab-amid-rcmp-investigation-1.5211567

- January 25th 2020, the first case of a Canadian with COVID-19 is identified. His test is sent to the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg for confirmation, the same lab the above secrets were stolen by China.

- On Feb. 9th, announced by Global Affairs Canada:  "To support China’s ongoing response to the outbreak, Canada has deployed approximately 16 tonnes of personal protective equipment, such as clothing, face shields, masks, goggles and gloves to the country since February 4, 2020":   https://www.canada.ca/en/global-affairs/news/2020/02/canada-supports-chinas-ongoing-response-to-novel-coronavirus-outbreak.html

- Since then, China has returned the favour by hoarding all of the masks its factories manufacture.  China accounts for half of all mask production worldwide:  https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/13/business/masks-china-coronavirus.html

Now Canada has a mask shortage, our healthcare workers need them.  What kind of idiot naive government does this?  François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Foreign Affairs, should be forced to resign.

We've been screwing ourselves a long time ago!  By driving away investors and businesses!

Canada had learned a big painful lesson from this virus:  there is no such thing as a "global community" when something like this strikes.  We can "dialogue" all we want, but in the end it all boils down to this:

WALLS GO UP!

It's............................ every nation for herself.

Woe to the nation that foolishly made herself dependent on other nations for supplies!  Dependent on other nations for.................................... ANYTHING!

The businesses in the USA are in "war-time" mode!  It's like WW2!  They're rallying around to fight combat this virus. To raise citizens' morale!

Sure, we do have CANADIAN businesses here that try to help - but, they're not as many! A lot of them are helpless too, since a lot of them depend on other nations for their own supplies!

When this is all over - we have to set things right in our own turf!  We've got to have our own resources to be able to stand alone.

I'm simply giving my opinion, people can evaluate as they like, you can prance around it as you like, it is what it is.

Noted.

Guess how valuable your unsupported opinion is?

My opinion is that a vampire-cult produced the virus to cull the weak and the elderly (because their blood tastes bad) so that they could purify their livestock population.

The Trudeau government is run by globalists who frequently care about people outside Canada than inside.  They don't understand that they were elected to protect and defend Canada's national interests and those of its voters.

Nothing wrong with send China protective equipment, but not at the expense of Canadians being able to use that equipment, especially our healthcare workers.

This is incorrect.  Please note that I am using the same source you are, ie my own damn mouth...

I would say the Laurentian Elites in Canada are particularly under the thumb of the Chicoms because America First

Canada is looking for a new patron, the leverage the Chinese have is that they buy massive quantities of commodities

Canada is not a hegemonic power, Canada can only flip from one hegenomy to another

1. Would you have given China more of our protective gear, less, or about the same as what we gave?

2. Do you think they'd give us the gear if the situation was reversed?  They've already shown they wouldn't, based on their hoarding of masks.  Chumps, we are.  We turn around and take it up the bum, like weak fools.

3. I'm trying to save not only my life but your life and those of your family.  You have a child to protect now Michael.  What are the limits of your charity?

The OP was addressed in the post immediately following it... move on already. Far far more important issues at stake are piling up all around us each and every day and all you people can do is pine away about the Before Times.

We walked into our relationship with China with eyes wide open decades ago.

I don't often agree with eye, but he is right, We as a nation could not move a majority of our industry base to china so we the owners could make bils, not having to pay Norths American wages and benefits, thanks to our unions and greed , shit I remembered when everything was made in Japan, not today, shit even our classified military spare parts are being counterfeited and sold back to us and we can barely tell the difference...We made China into what it is today....how can we blame china for taking advantage of our weakness. today they are threats on so many levels that they are to numerous to list, but we are to stupid to get off the table from which they have us bent over..... and stand up, and take back what we have given them freely...

The only Question is are we going to stand up and do something , or when this is over, are we going to get our heads shoved back onto the table...and our pants pulled down again...

There is no reason with all the bils we spend on nice to have social programs that we could not be better prepared for the next emergency what ever that is...emergency preparness dept has warehouses full of equipment , no reason it could not include medical supplies....

Our government sent 16 tons of protective equipment to a hostile country and then we quickly started having shortages of protective equipment for our citizens, including healthcare professionals.  This decision could lead to the deaths of Canadians, and could have already.  No I'm not going to shut-up about it, it's kind of a big deal.
