Grapevine, just told me Trump just called Obama asking what the hell he was doing pulling the National Guard off duty on the Jan. 20th when there are going to be hundreds of protesters and told him either put them back on or  Trump will go inside the W.H to get sworn it. Take this info. any way u want, I'm not saying it true or untrue but the feeling between the two is not love.

Trump ordered all Obama appointees to resign, is that not really a natural extension of Trump's mandate? The Commander of the D.C. National Guard (we need to be specific, because there is no single National Guard) is an Obama appointee. This is not Obama's doing, it it Trump's.

The inauguration-ceremony is the worst nightmare for the security services. Any other time the President is well protected and every possibility of a threat is eliminated but the inauguration-ceremony is in the middle of a busy city in open air and includes a long walk along its main street.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection will not be welcoming Canadian protesters and trouble makers, nor should they.   Stay home.

Why don't you offer some sort of opinion on the links you post?  Like you just did instead of us having to read the article?

Because that would be redundant.   My "opinion" is obvious....

Here's another opinion...only idiots would tell a U.S. border agent they are going to Washington D.C. to "protest" in a foreign country.

So you agree that unless we read the linked article we would have no idea why they were supposedly turned away. You have a lazy way of posting.

You post a link without offering a summary of the article and what you think about it.

You have enough years on this forum by now to be able to post high quality comments but apparently you only care about playing the game and posting as little as you can get away with and watching that post counter.

Go back and read the link carefully....all was revealed in the link before ever clicking on it.   I am a fan of pithy comments and brevity...not bloviating.

And I'm sure some of the dolts going south to protest will say that at the border and get rejected.  I fully expect an expose' from the CBC on how the US border is being heavy handed, with breathless 'reporters' getting said protesters to bitch and moan.

Because if you don't already know what he means (some do) you can do the investigation on your own, and become more wise.

If it were my country I sure wouldn't let those people in. Them, and a lotta other types.
Trump said he would secure the border.

The thread is about disruptions, I think posting a link to protestors is not only fair but a welcome addition to the thread.

I've told the U.S. border patrol much worse things. I've had problems with both the U.S. and the Canadian side. It really just depends on the offer you get. But the worst I've been treated was on the U.S. side one Christmas morning a while back. I was the only white guy pulled over. There was an officer loudly and abusively questioning two Asian men. He was asking them why they closed their restaurant down for the day. The two men didn't speak much English, if any. So, of course, they weren't understanding the officer. The officer then yelled at them, "How many pounds of rice do you cook in a day." I couldn't help myself. I got up and walked over to the counter and said, "I don't know how long you've been working here, but Canadians use the metric system." I was there for about 5 hours, and then left on parole. I had to meet with an immigration overlord to verify my citizenship. I'm a dual citizen, but they don't like that very much.  I was questioned by Canadian immigration at the Montreal airport. They asked what my reason for coming to Canada was. I told him that "I was here for the poutine." That didn't go well either, but at least I didn't leave on parole.  But all that said, are Canadians really coming down to the States to protest Trump? If so, thank you!

Trump says a lot of things. He's a steaming load of fecal matter and cannot help himself. And the Republicans are acting like kids in a candy store. They also cannot help themselves. But in just under two years from now, the Republican party will pay a price when the midterm elections come They will lose a tremendous amount of seats that very possibly will cause them to lose control of the Senate. Good times.

Republicans have got the power now and they get to have all the fun they want. You people misbehaving in the meantime only helps to further solidify their message. The behaviour of the left in this regard only demonstrates their great disdain for democracy

I think it actually demonstrates their wish for democracy, i.e. majority rule.
