Actually, I was interested in hearing what Altai (as a real Muslim) had to say, as it was her/his statement.

She said it.  It's a reflective of old-world, pre-western fundamentalism ie. intolerance.  What more is there to be said ?

The Wars of the Reformation led to institutionalization of religious tolerance.  With more open societies, and more open economics, the west thrived.  Now the non-west will have to figure out a way to reform or be left behind.

Oh, darn, did I take the only spot in the forum thread where Altai could reply?

Christianity or Atheism or any other shitty belief systems has no place in the World and have to be wiped out

Ok, atheism should not be wiped out...that I disagree with.

Whatever 'wiping out' means, it's reasonable to assume it means applying thought control by force.  History shows us that we don't get good results from such approaches.

Yup, you are right.   I shall restate:   I don't support "wiping out" anyone's religion, but it would be ok with me if atheism was suddenly (magically) the only 'belief system' we had.

Atheism is not a belief system, it is simply a state of disbelief.

I can't believe this still needs to be said in this day and age.

We have discussed it before. Please research for it in old posts. Atheism is a belief.

I dont care, his life is influenced by Christianity or Atheism and he murdered people. He is a Christian or Atheist terrorist. We dont know details because media dont want to share

ISIS claims  him for their own!  ISIS says he converted a few months ago.  If that's true - he is MUSLIM!

We can't rule that out just because there are no evidence to support that claim.

For all we know,  this guy might end up getting added instead,  in that other thread - This Week In Islam.:)

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way.  I just meant I'd like to hear Altai's explanation, since it was Altai's statement and it was a very bold one and left quite open-ended.

Um, no.

It means that we do not believe in a god or gods. In particular, a personal god that supposedly favours us over someone else or something else.

As for this material world: how do I know that my hand is my hand, and all that, etc.

We could be "living" or "existing"  in a simulation, etc etc.

All possibilities with rational explanations that are much more reasonable than the god of the Bible/Koran.

Two points..

1.  The created universe around us points to the need to have had a divine creator.  It could not have appeared out of nowhere in the complex way it is.

2.  The Bible believed to be a direct revelation from God to man teaches that God created the universe.  Genesis (KJV 1611).  One accepts it is a revelation from our Creator God or does not.  Either way the creation is still here and nobody has a better explanation of where it came from.

Neither of which have any validity.

Science long ago proved that that is total nonsense. You have a dog who revealed himself to a bunch of people from long ago who saw mystery in everything in their little universe. They created all these myths, which were coalesced into the bible, which more adults indoctrinated their unthinking children into believing.

What you have in religion is, all you have is, a bunch of frightened, unthinking children who never really ever grow up.

"believed to be" are the operative words, with zero proof/evidence, just this childish wish that it is all true.

The link is about PKK terrorists-
PKK terrorists in the preparation of the action in Dogubayazit District of Ağrı were noticed by the security forces and ran away by exploding the bombed vehicle in the rural district when the operation was carried out.

Which I believe are Kurdish Muslims. Muslims attacking Muslims? Oh my.

Pkk is an atheist organization. There are also many Christians within them. There may be some idole worshippers too which is called as Yazidi.

Yes there are many Muslim Kurds and most of them have nothing with terror organizations. They support govt.

Ah, so you're a theist. That explains a lot.

Nonsense. Wherever the Soviets spread their influence, they brought atheism. They tried to do the same thing in Afghanistan.

I suppose you think that these guys spontaneously formed a political movement heavy on socialism, and call themselves Kurdistan Workers Party were not heavily influenced by the communists.

I suspect they were more fed up with the weight of cruel overbearing oppression, probably from theists.
