I am not allowed to mention the 'T' word this week @ home...so far so good.

Different tone at our house...more of a detached fascination with just how Trump managed to pull it off.   I think she would have preferred Sanders or Warren.

Hillary carried our "blue" state, but just barely.

I have to explain to my fellow Canadians that she ISN'T from Arkansas. Yet they insist she is...sigh. We're not always the sharpest tacks...

She was a weak candidate.

Maybe, but she was also a woman.  Benghazi and email witch hunts were also an extension of that.

It's also worth noting that she was made weak in part by the one sided media coverage - mostly a result of journalists just throwing up their hands in the face of Trump's utter falsehoods.

You're right that there were many factors, but you can't separate that from the elephant in the room.  You can try to deny it, but you're kidding yourself.

Ok, so in order for Hillary's loss to be about her being a woman, there are a few things we have to ignore, lets sort it out:

Democratic policies; Obamacare, economy, jobs (especially coal sector jobs), lack of any notable immigration policy, ISIS, regime change (nation building), Iran deal, hostage deals, political correctness, Hillary threatening Russia, Terrorism, Syrian refugees, political establishment.

Scandals; Email/server problems, Trust/security, Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, pay for play, Haiti, DNC corruption, possible election/debate rigging, Bill Clinton, Podesta, Brazille, DW Schultz, Lynch (DOJ), Huma, Weiner...and thats just this year....

Campaign strategy; trusting poll numbers, poor african american turnout, misjudgement of female and hispanic voters, assumption of security in many states, categorizing demographics, angering then trusting Bernies millennials, lack of accessibility to Clinton, voter shaming, very few campaign stops (except private fundraising schemes), health concerns, Negative campaigning, blaming the Russians, Blaming the FBI.

But, as far as you're concerned, it's about sexism - right?

Oh, lets not forget calling Trump people "deplorable", Bernie people "basement Dwellers" and slagging christians.

Just like people thought George W. Bush was "from" Texas, not New England.  Pro politicians craft every part of their narrative.

George H. W. Bush moved his family to Texas and California after WW2 to work in the oil industry, not political office. He didn't get to Congress until about 20 years after establishing himself in Texas oil.

Context on George W. Bush and New England:

Quote

George Walker Bush was born on July 6, 1946, at Grace-New Haven Hospital (now Yale–New Haven Hospital) in New Haven, Connecticut,[20] as the first child of George Herbert Walker Bush and Barbara Pierce

Bush attended high school at the Phillips Academy, a boarding school (then all-male) in Andover, Massachusetts, where he played baseball, and during his senior year, was the head cheerleader.[25][26] He attended Yale University from 1964 to 1968, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.[27] During this time, he was a cheerleader and a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon, serving as the president of the fraternity during his senior year.

On September 4, 1976, he was arrested near his family's summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine, for driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded guilty, was fined $150, and had his Maine driver's license briefly suspended.[46]

Narratives are important to all humans and politicians/political pundits make them around themselves (Clinton's fake southern accent at events in the south) and others ("carpetbaggers")

Both Obama and Hillary have a 'down-home' switch that they can flip at will...y'all.

Context: The Canadian left recruits diversely.  From wiki:

Elizabeth May was born in Hartford, Connecticut.

Stephane Dion holds dual citizenship in France because of his French-born mother.

Thomas Mulcair has dual Canadian and French citizenship.

Make the held. Yes, although he was born in Quebec he did get automatic French citizenship because of his mother. The fascist redneck Harper gang made such a stink of it when he was Liberal leader that he gave it up.

Do Canada and the United States allow each others' citizens exemptions when it comes to immigration from either of those countries to the other or are they treated like any other foreigners who have to fulfill requirements for immigration?

They are treated like any other immigrants but there is a better chance they will be more qualified than those from most other countries.

NAFTA has provisions for near automatic visas for specific classes of professionals.

The sharks are already feeding on Nate Silver and his "magic sauce":

http://acsh.org/news/2016/11/09/election-polls-were-wrong-and-why-rcp-better-nate-silver-10423

Basic statistics is to have a sample that correctly represents the entire data domain; I think he under-sampled several demographics.

Nate Silver doesn't sample anything. FiveThirtyEight is a polling aggregator, as the site you posted mentions. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about.

Thank for your interest in all things American, including aggregators of undersampled and oversampled polls.

Why Nate Silver Blew It
