Is the problem with this opinion, which is common on here but completely and utterly wrong, that if you don't profess to hold it you would actually have to answer some of the charges made against Islam?

Do you honestly believe that those who are disgusted by Islamic excesses, from ISIS down through blogger hacking to denying women the right to drive somehow believe that all Muslims do that?

How do you feel about those Islamic excesses? I assume you feel the same way everone on here does about them. How do you make it plain, when you talk about them, that you don't mean all Muslims? If you could tell us, we could add it to all our posts, or put it in our signature or something, so you'd know we meant just the same Muslims you do.

Say people instead of Muslim. Everywhere you see the word Muslim, replace it with the word people instead.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Correction - this is from Foreign Policy.com -- The Threat is Already Inside

And no, it’s not just Islam. Right-wing extremists in the United States still kill more people than jihadists. The 2011 attack in Norway — which left 77 people dead — was carried out by a single far-right terrorist, Anders Behring Breivik. Since 2006, more than half of all deaths in terror attacks in the west have been caused by non-Islamist “lone wolf” attackers, most motivated by right wing extremism or separatist sentiments.

So in the wake of the Paris attacks, the fat, happy, over-privileged West wants to turn away the hundreds of thousands of desperate Muslim families seeking shelter and peace, just because a tiny fraction of those refugees might be militants? Islamic militants couldn’t ask for a better recruiting gift.

There's 1,500,000,000 muslims in the world.

If 1,000,000,000 think extremism is wrong, that leaves

500,000,000 muslim extremists.

Almost twice as many extremists as people in the USA.

You like being scared of extremists, what do I care? It's you has to live with it. So yeah, there are a half-billion extremist Muslims just waiting to take us out. We're doomed, I tell you, doomed. Here, let me help you feed your fear and bigotry:

Wow I can see why you guys like this - its so damn easy to have your opinion formed, no thought required. Anyway, looks like quite a bit, you can now scare ... err, read yourself to sleep.

As I keep mentioning, my issue with Islam

Your issue with Islam is based on ignorance and bigotry.

Your comment below is called a sweeping generalization. It's based on ignorance and not on facts:

Aside from the superficial, like opening a shawarma stand in your town, what do Middle Eastern immigrants have to offer? Gay bashing, gang rape, hate speech, synagogue arson, stone-age attitudes... what's the upside?

"What do you think of Western civilization?" Gandhi was asked. "I think it would be a good idea," he said.

There are close to 3 million Muslims in the U.S. How many Muslim terrorist incidents has there been as compared to white, suburban/rural terrorist attacks?

Putting aside your feelings, according to the facts you should be more concerned about the neglected and ignored white kids, with severe anger issues, than Muslims.

She's investigating Muslim fanatics and extremists. It says so in the title. The document I posted was talking about how Muslim extremism is wrong, and why its wrong, according to 100s of Muslim clerics and scholars. Not to mention the Billion or so Muslims around the world who also think extremism is wrong.

Thank you for posting that - she did a wonderful job of looking fairly at peoples differences.

Well, about those refugees. This article from The Guardian gives some insight into life at a refugee camp. And you can find plenty more like it, detailing the epidemic of rape and child sexual abuse that are going on in these refugee camps. If these refugees are such swell guys, why are the refugee camps full of rape?

-k

That's really interesting because much the same behavior was reported at Hurricane Katrina refugee centres.

Do you think someone was running around converting them people to Muslims which turned them into rapists?

So, the protest at the 10:00 mark, would you consider that extreme Islam?

Looked like freedom of expression (speech) to me. She fell into the trap of having to feel "superior" and "above that" when it comes to judging others.

Freedom of expression isn't extreme anything. In my country, it is called a constitutional right.

You know that's not true, don't be ridiculous!

Actions can be extreme...but not protected speech/expression. That would rule out lots of books, films, art, etc.

So, again if you can would that protest (in that video) have been a display of radical views?

Radical compared to what ? Maybe she should have been supporting their right to peaceful protest instead of lamenting the changes to "her" town.

BlackLivesMatter is saying the same thing right now in my "town"...perfectly legal.

Isn't it great to see old traditions revived?

Of course, in the case of some countries, maybe it's better that some of those traditions remain buried.

And that same wonderful presidential candidate is proposing to build a huge wall so the "wrong kind of people" don't get in. Is that a new tradition for y'all?

Yes it is....happened during many election cycles. Perfectly legal and protected speech. He won't be elected president, but he does get a lot of attention, even in Canada.

I assume you are OK with registering all 18 year old males.
