Anyway, there is a charge of "obstruction of a peace officer" that is simply for non compliance, which they'd be justified to give you for the actions that you described.

Sorry, that is not true.

For someone to be non compliance, they would have to be regarding a valid legal request, and since they are NOT making a legal request, they can pound sand.

I agree 100%....have received far more warnings than tickets simply by cooperating with the police officer or trooper, who has a job to do. One time, a trooper lasered me way over the limit from a highway ambush, so I pulled over as soon as he caught up to me...no lights or siren...just immediate acknowledgement and compliance with the drill. No ticket.....just a very pleasant conversation and a promise to lay off the gas pedal. It also helps to be buckled up and ready proof of insurance. Having a valid license and no warrants helps too !

That reminds me, there was a time when 2 cars ran a partially red light, I was one of them. A cop was stopped at the intersection and turned to pursue us. He pulled me over and told me to sit tight, went back to his car and chased the other car. Now how many of you would have taken off, thinking he had no right to tell you what to do, what a dick, etc. I stayed where I was and a while later he came back. Asked me if I wanted a ticket or a lecture! I didn't tell him off or abuse him then either.

I don't get the hatred of cops, I really don't.

Anybody who would be opposed to an unarmed guy with his hands in the air getting shot must really hate cops.

So about that alleged "orbital fracture" that Officer Wilson had. I don't know if this has been posted yet, but the blog Little Green Footballs did some research into that rumor.

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/43751_Jim_Hofts_Unsourced_Claim_That_Officer_Darren_Wilson_Had_an_Orbital_Blowout_Fracture_of_the_Eye_Socket

One interesting thing he found is about the CT scan image that accompanied the claim that Wilson had suffered an "orbital blowout fracture."

ZZ52A5AE25.jpg

The picture to the left is the original image. The picture to the right is the picture as it appeared in the "Gateway Pundit" Jim Hoft's blog. Notice the difference? It's in the lower right corner of each image. In the picture to the right, the "Univ of Iowa" is erased. The picture is posted immediately below a caption that reads:

Local St. Louis sources said Wilson suffered an “orbital blowout fracture to the eye socket.” This comes from a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police.

And an unsuspecting reader would likely draw the conclusion that the image is a CT scan of Officer Wilson, not a CT scan that the "Gateway Pundit" found on the internet.

Little Green Footballs notes that a lot of people fell for it:

If Hoft’s intent was to mislead, it worked. All over Twitter and right wing blogs, the wingnuts are raving about “Darren Wilson’s X-ray” that shows a fractured eye socket — but this is just a generic example image of an unknown person’s CT scan.

Little Green Footballs' second point concerns the physiological effects of an "orbital blowout fracture". Swelling, nose-bleed, double-vision. But watching the video of Officer Wilson immediately after the shooting... does this look like a guy suffering any of those symptoms?

Does the guy in the video act as if he's just suffered a fractured eye socket?

He's walking completely upright, with no apparent bleeding and no visible sign of any discomfort. He doesn't touch his face once in this video. In the course of my sparring, I've been popped in the nose and the eye more than a few times, and in my experience, it's hard not to touch it. As soon as my gloves are off, my immediate compulsion is to touch my face where I got hit. Feel for swelling or other damage. Check my nose for blood. Try to massage some sting away. It's reflexive to put your hand to an injury, but this guy doesn't bring his hand to his face the whole video.

or instance, one cop asked me if I knew how fast I was doing and I replied 79km. He said, you were doing 80 in a 60 zone. And you know what? No ticket, he just asked me not to speed for the rest of the day. I've received warnings instead of tickets 2 other times because of your rude behavior to the cops.

They leave me alone, and ticket the loud mouth jerk who can't keep his cool. Keep up the good work fellas.

What an naive...nay...an ignorant response. I'll reconsider if you are not a post teen, aging, white fella.

Well said, they act more like the cops on rookie blue.

Sometimes you surprise PIK, maybe you're not just one of the many geeks the CPC pays to comment on social media. I've actually met one of the CPC social media geek brigade. Can you imagine getting paid, full time, to comment on news stories and boards like this? What a dream job.

You're right, the x-rays came back negative. He was only badly beaten and bruised.

Odd way to "surrender" don't you think?

I don't know, which one of them is officer Wilson? Anyways, apparently the x-rays were negative. So just bruised face in such. You know, the normal thing that happens when one surrenders.

I don't know what people were saying about the X-ray, but I thought it was assumed that it was an example X-ray.

Yes, typically the partner's question is if he wants it in the face or stomach. Never show up after a shooting without some kind of bruising.

(Not that I'm saying that's what the officer did; I'm saying Shady will jump to conclusions and not even consider that to be a possibility, while attacking others for jumping to conclusions when they're really not.)

The thing that concerns me about this woman is that her story came out after the autopsy. I think this is why releasing sensitive information like that is dangerous.

I find it interesting that conservatives opposed the ideas I shared about conservative fearful nature and tendencies in that particular thread, yet echo them perfectly in responses to real issues. Hey cons, why even pine fore a specific outcome here?

Granted I have erred on both sides of this issue...but my error was honest. In one case I was ignorant of the statements made by the Ferguson police chief and the other I accepted the word of the St. Louis county police department.

Still, I am seeking the truth and reporting on the stories I read. Why do so many hope this tragedy conforms to a desired political outcome? Is your political position so frail that one tragedy cannot be chalked up as a mistake and used to reform actions going forward?

Suuure, that's probably exactly what the blogger assumed people would think. That's probably why he erased "University of Iowa" from the image. He didn't think a detail like that was necessary, since it was so readily apparent that it was just an example X-ray.

It has been interesting to see how the argument on this issue has split almost completely along political lines.

Democrat: "bad cops".

Republican: "bad urban youths".

While we don't have all the facts about the initial incident, we have plenty of facts about the events that have happened since, and we have plenty of information with which to conclude that the police have handled this situation in disastrous manner.

Broken orbital bone, hands up...yeah, some facts turn out to be bunk.

As I said, my stance is usually against the police and for the "victim", but there is too much inconsistency from the Brown side and I'm certainly leaning toward the cop.

It seems the witnesses might have tried to back-up Dorian Johnson and he seems to have stretched the truth.
