This is a disagreement in values and morals - insults won't help, BD

This is a forum for exchanging ideas and making arguments. The poster in question consistently fails to do that, responding to posts on virtually any subject with the same shop-worn mad lib repeated over and over again. Seriously: go back and read his contributions to this thread an tell me what the point of them are and tell me you haven't seen the exact same thing a million times before on completely different subjects, be it healthcare, terrorism, etc etc. That this board continue to tolerate a self-confessed troll is beyond me. But I guess since he doesn't cuss....

Let's all stop using the 'troll' accusation. It's only used when someone doesn't agree with another, but it's invalid as criticism. And let's stop the insulting. If someone is behaving badly then report it to the admin and maybe he/she will do something about it.

There is no argument...American citizens have the constitutional right to own and bear firearms. The courts have upheld this many times. And besides, guns are a lot more efficient than a hakapik.

Even young women from Regina can bear firearms, although they might pretend they're old millionaires from Minnesota on the Internet.

This is a pretty dumb thing for someone who has presumably spent time on the internet to have written

I'm sorry you think the rules are dumb. Dumb posters get better, though, and rude ones tend not to.

I said nothing of the rules. But yes, let's keep harping on tiny insults and swear words and ignore truly low-value behaviours.

Didn't this guy legally buy a gun in a state that already has strong gun control?

Sure. Now, Think of how many more people he could have exercised his second amendment rights upon if it had been in a state where laws were looser, where he could buy assault weapons and high capacity magazines over the counter.

I was just watching it on the news. He traveled a lot.

If more Californians had been armed, he would never have managed to kill so many people. In Texas, he would have been dead after just one or two.

I honestly find it astounding that this argument still gets trotted out.

I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger

Could you explain then why, of the 25 worst mass shootings in the US, (and we all know they do have a lot) Texas holds number 3 ,5 and 7 spots, with a total of 54 gunned down. So much for that theory.

Americans that pay any attention at all to Canada are a rare breed, though. Thanks. We will give you prominent positions in her majesty's government after we reclaim you.

Come and get us. Or better yet, trade us Harper for Obama.

Have any of you heard that the US government has supposedly buying up bullets? Since they can't take away the guns, they have started to take away the bullets but I wonder how they stop the producer from producing more, so this may not be true.

Keeping guns out of the hands of crazy people would be a good idea. Elliot Rodgers' own parents were concerned about his mental health. Surely some kind of screening process would have reduced the chances that such a psycho would be able to obtain guns. When I got my license, I submitted myself to a thorough background check that included interviews with references and an approval from my doctor.

No, the government is just buying ammo for its own needs, which is substantial. Training and certification at ranges consumes millions of rounds per year. Plus the shooting sports have become very popular. "Praise the Lord...and pass the ammunition".

The 2nd Amendment doesn't disturb me as much as the fact that so many Americans very much like to exercise that right in such large numbers. US gun laws aren't as disturbing as US gun culture.

I can understand people who like to hunt, or people who live in wilderness who need guns for protection from mammals, but i'll never understand the people who collect and shoot targets with certain guns because they're "cool", makes them feel tough, makes them feel secure against thugs and robbers. Those people make the world a worse and more dangerous place.

Don't tell the NRA any of this, they'll freak. They thinkg the government is coming after not only the ammunition but the guns themselves. Which of course they need to protect themselves from the government, and keep the drive by shooting business thriving.

How were you able to stomach such an unconscionable trampling of your rights and freedoms?

Or maybe not.

Some posters only have one agenda - eg, creating Can-US bickering.

It gets boring ... and frustrating when newbies keep feeding the troll and ALL topics end up being one topic ... ad nauseam.

Maybe our resident mocker and Canadian expert can explain why the IRS needs ammunition. What kind of need would the IRS have for ammunition?
