GostHacked Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I thought it was Rob that was running again. He might be able to saunter, but running is out of the question for him. Quote
Black Dog Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Bah ha ha. Mayor Rob Ford to city: Change the locks, I'll be back In a letter dated June 2 to the city clerk’s office, Ford said he would be back Monday, June 30 “in the latter portion of the afternoon, to resume my duties as Mayor of Toronto.” Coming into work on the late afternoon on the day before a stat holiday. HE'S BACK BABY!!1!! Quote

HE'S BACK BABY!!1!! I understand that he is in Toronto to audition for that new musical currently being auditioned. He may have the inside track to the main role. On Guard for Thee Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 He's up in Bracebridge, anchoring the place down in the face of threatening tornadoes. Quote
Topaz Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Ford was brought up on the US tv "the view", and Whoopi was laughing so hard she had trouble talking, but she did mention about the musical and the fact Ford said he's coming back on June 30th, and they can't wait to see if he makes an ass out of himself again. Another said the US comedians having been waiting for him to come back. Ford is really is a laughing stock of Toronto and Canada and not a respectable mayor or person. Quote

Boges Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 Noticed that Ford being in Rehab has HELPED!!!! his poll numbers. Quote

Rue Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) There will be a swing sympathy vote back to Ford when he returns creating a close 3 way run between him, Chow and Tory, but eventually its down to him and Chow. Tory is just not inspiring any energy in people. Chow is working every single event she can. There she was at Pride events taking pictures and hosting parties and Tory was invisible. She goes to the voters and panders. Tory is not necessarily. When I say pander I do not mean it in a negative way either I mean power shmoozing. Ford's gonna pull the victim card and say anyone who criticizes him has their own foibles as well. You have seen him play that tune. He's going to milk his behaviour as a disability and go to town on being a victim not responsible for his behaviour. The apology on cue as he returns will will also send a message to the media he won't talk about his past only focus on the present. How convenient to ignore what he did.. He will simply go back to the 'what can I say, I already said sorry" line over and over with his brother doing the same routine. I can hear it now, from Doug, he's not fat he just has big bones. This kind of stuff is predictable. What is also predictable is he will go off the bandwagon and self destruct. This notion he has that he will walk back into a campaign and never relapse again is absurd. All addicts relapse. His problem is he has a higher probability of doing it during the campaign because of the obviois stressors. The media will be on frenzy watch waiting for the slightest sign of odd behaviour. At this point it would not surprise me if he got voted back in. This province does that kind of thing. It voted McGuinty back in after he lied and the Liberals back in again after they threw away 2 billion. This province has a track record of forgiving blatant misdoings of politicians. Chow was working the street crowd man when I saw her. She is zipping arouind getting her photo taken with anything that moves. Edited June 27, 2014 by Rue Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 I watched his little "confessional" today and would doubt it scored him many points. It seemed to amount to a bit of a long winded attempt to garner sympathy and then he sprinkles a little "look what I've done for the city" for good measure. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for giving someone a second chance, but he fell so far from grace I'm not sure being at the helm of our largest city is a good place for him to convalesce. Quote

Rob's apologies and recognition that a mayor can't act like a boneheaded drunken scumbag may play well with some, but they probably didn't and wouldn't vote for him anyway. His 'Ford Nation' LOVE his drunken-drugged racist sexist homophobic rants! WWWTT Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 Looks like Rob Ford lost a good 30-50 pounds since he has resurfaced (belly up)! But it's hard to tell? Here's the heckler that gave him very little to say http://t.co/ykSP55QSEM I can see this guy's circus fading real fast. I think he was more popular when he was a drug crazed drunken stupor slurring slobin sloppy stumbling public urinating stupid freak show. What's he got now? "I'm going to save the taxpayers money" ?????? Ya ok Rob, if you say so. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! Rue Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) You show enough people swearing and yelling at Ford and it turns him into a persecuted underdog which I believe is the game plan. They are now trying to repackage him as a victim with remorse. It does get a sympathy vote. People do feel for the underdog. Will it get him elected who knows. I do not under-estimate the sympathy I also was surprised to see such foul mouthed and nasty politician like Adam Vaughan get elected against such a gentlemen like that Cressy my old riding albeit in the federal by-election. Cressy was a gentleman and he lived a lifestyle he talked about. Even the Sun a totally anti NDP paper endorsed him. On the street Cressy was polite, civil and he was the real thing. Zero ego.People are in a strange mood though these days as to who they vote in. they vote in Vaughan a rude, abusive sob who in my opinion is as intolerant and extreme as Ford. How you could not detect that talking to him on the street was beyond me. He walks with his nose in the air, a permanent sneer and know it all attitude and zero tolerance for anyone who breaths. Doesn't seem to mean a thing these days which is why I think a gentleman like Tory will not get elected and why Ford's rude behaviour people think was cute or cool. Its only when he went over the line with addiction people backed off. When he was simply rude and redneck people giggled along. So how long does he walk around trying to act humble. The crowds feed one of his addictions. That addiction will re-fuel his need to be a redneck and outspoken thinking it will get him even more approval. The foul mouth will be back soon, then the angry foul mouth and the humble victim will turn into the defiant martyr. Give that a few weeks. Once he's back to the role of defiant martyr its back to the bottle. In any event this election so far is flat. Probably because its summer and its just too long a campaign and should be limited to 6 weeks. Also I have to really blast Doug Ford. That sob was Rob Ford's no.1 enabler denying his addictions for years, and now he is posing as someone who suddenly knows he's an addict? How long ago was he on the radio telling their constituents Rob had a couple of "pops" to describe his drunk and out of control behaviour. He is the biggest danger to Rob Ford going off the wagon. I do not under-estimate the sympathy I've no skin in this Dog and Pony Show, but I agree, the nastiness applied to Ford by his opponents, right or wrong, could very well get him re-elected..........I would think the best game plan for both Chow and Tory is to ignore him. Boges Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Why? I don't believe for a second this dude just happened across Ford and decided to make a scene. Does he think anyone that doesn't already hate RoFo's guts would take him seriously with the Moobs out? And only a civil servant that would defend them no matter how they conduct themselves in public would do that? I certainly wouldn't in my private sector job. Quote

Does he think anyone that doesn't already hate RoFo's guts would take him seriously with the Moobs out? What makes you think he was craving Ford Nation's approval. And why is having a shirt on a prerequisite for being taken seriously? And only a civil servant that would defend them no matter how they conduct themselves in public would do that? Uh, what/ You might want to try this sentence again. I certainly wouldn't in my private sector job. Wouldn't what? Express a political position to a politician? Jeez, what kind of job do you have? Boges Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 We're not talking about any old politician, though are we? Well that brings us to the other opinion I read today. The more people attempt to publicly dress down RoFo the more he can portray himself as a victim in public. The Sun today again said he should step down again, he's clearly not. But a poll came out last week having him back in 2nd. If he can stay clean, a lot of pundits have said he could actually win. Quote

People who didn't buy it before won't start now. As for the polls, meh. Only way I see him winning is Tory dropping out or Chow fumbling badly. Four months is a very long time to stay sober. Be shocked if we didn't end up with another episode before election day. Quote
