If it's actually true that Ford wants a election (is it true) then yes it's because he thinks Hudak will win and because an ndp or liberal win will absolutely result in higher taxes.

I guess an increase in property taxes and service fees are not increases.

Because that's what happened when Harris was in power!

But look on the bright side,if the NDP increase taxes,infrastructure and services will improve and the Ontario economy will see an economic boom!

The Premier cant do squat about prop taxes . Not a thing to worry about there.

When I last checked,the province overrides the municipality,county,towns and cities.

Are you completely sure that the province can not overturn any decission made by a lesser government?

When Harris was in power,he downloaded onto the municipalities,and in turn gave the municipalities his blessings to increase everything under the sun to make up for the shortfall.

A big hit was taken on property taxes,in particular commercial property taxes!And not to mention residential property taxes.

Another big hit was on development fees.

That figure is also wrong because the $2 Billion they want to generate is GTA, if not, province-wide. Which is why I applaud Toronto city council for rejecting the revenue tools that would affect other people in the province.
