Are we supposed to be impressed that so many british MP have oxford educations, i wonder how is Britain's economy right now, must be doing extraordinarily good with so many oxford grads...and yet they seem to be having more issues than we are....and now we have the same problem ....

I think our military is unprepared, it's under equipped and under manned but if told to do so would go over the wall if ordered..it would be a terrific waste of the finest Canadians we have....outnumbered 1000 to one....that sacrifice would be quickly forgotten by Canadians, along with their names of the dead...

Not sure we would have a rush of NATO or any other nations coming to our assistance...i think this one would be Canada your alone on this one.......and since we have the military we have always wanted then we are stuck with learning the american anthem...

You need to follow the math here....nobody is saying Canada does not have the right to defend itself....he is saying in event that Canada is attacked by the US they ( Canada) if your not going to defend the nation you would surrendering it to the US, surrendering is giving up your sovereignty, you no longer control this ( Canada) country another nation controls it.... another nations flag would be flying in Ottawa...it's citizens would come under US military control... What would you defend the nation with our military? against the largest most equipped military in the free world...The best thing Canada could do is surrender, without risking the lives of our military...to throw them away on a useless endeavor is pretty selfish... US military has close to 2 million men and women under arms, we would be lucky to find 120 k of which maybe 1/3 of those would not be able to fight... and less than 5000 of those are combat troops... Canada could have a government in exile, but it would not have sovereign control over the nation...the US would have that...

Again your opinion, my opinion is he is to lazy or non imaginative to make his own policies...what is he going to do if he becomes PM....which policies are trump like.... Well i think the words describe it very well....."Everything" meaning all or most of today's government departments are underfunded,and in a lot of cases under manned, Not sure how much clearer it can be, "Broken" means it is not working very well or not at all...Did you want someone to break it down to every department and all of their issues, thats going to take more bandwidth than this forum has...

That may be true Rumors have it F-35 may be deemed to have more funding cut from the program....and while there is a chance that the F-47 may eventually take on a ground attack role much like the F-15 E, but the US still operated F-18,F-16, A-10 in ground roles as well depending on the targets...with the F-47 operating in early ground strikes when enemy radar/ air defence is a major threat, when these radars/ air defences are taken out you'll see them switch to all aircraft with ground capable mission sets...hit the rest of the targets... Anything is possible, but with over 1000 examples already produced and in a lot of cases by countries that only are flying one type of aircraft they will be around for awhile...but no one knows for sure, and i don't have crystal balls to see into the future...

Trump will not be in office when we receive our first F-35 aircraft...trump is a just a blip in history I don't understand how it does either however if you look at our history , how long did it take to find a sea king replacement after chretien canceled it...same could be said with the F-18 , how long will it be before our first f-35 gets here, media sources say not until 2030...Justin canceled it in 2015....an entire new competition will have to be run, tested, lets remember that the typhoon and Rafale quit after our government was asking to much in the way of offsets...it would not be fair just to give the runner up the contract because they lasted the longest in the competition....when europe would be in a more Eager mood to sell us fighters, even though they would be more expensive...but it would put us in a better position to eventually buy a 6 gen aircraft some euro countries are working on right now...

That is discrimination....and it is not in the labor laws or DEI policies would not exist.......you can not hire anyone based on race, color, creed, or religion, because it is discriminatory...the loophole to getting away with it is proving it... Take a look at Military hiring either for military jobs or civilian it will say right in the ad, who they are looking for , what their preferred candidate looks like, ie ethnic background preferred...or ethnic women only...now try putting in white only into the same ad, and see what happens...

Thats pretty much a drive by statement...that tells the reader nothing...other than you think it is an insult to our country... It has everything to do with policy, failure to comply with policy, or failure to comprehend policy, failure to implement policy and or incompetence at the MP level, failure to take action when necessary. policy is there to assist with running a efficient department...either we have bad policy or bad actors in the leadership roll.

It does matter alot when fighters come into close contact then it puts F-35 at a disadvantage, BVR weapons are not very effective at close range hence short range missiles.... BVR is great when you can positively identify enemy aircraft at distance and they are at war, but when pushing off Russia / Chinese aircraft out of your airspace...you need to do that wing tip to wing tip sort of speak...That's when the F-22, F-15, F-16, F-18 etc in the air dominance role....... have the advantage over F-35... Think off the F-35 as the quarterback it can spot enemy aircraft at distance even control and direct other aircraft missile launches to target...The new F-15 EX is a missle truck Americans are planning to use it with F-35 for that very reason...But its speciality is strike missions...but is also very deadly at air to air, except in a knife fight....

Happens all the time , look at the EH-101 sea king replacement program, it was canceled , restarted then we purchased SAR EH-101, then purchased some Frankenstein helo off the Americans... Look at the F-35 program, canceled , then we had the boeing spat and canceled the F18 E/F, then back to the F-35 it has cost us billions in delays, and put those programs back another 10 years....first F-35 will not be flying until 2030.... All because one party did not want to choose the same equipment because it was not visual pleasing politically....

Yes, when budgets were bigger, and we actually had equipment for all our defensive agreements...that is not the case today....Having two types will put additional pressure on tight budgets...

Well it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out, PP platform was working for him in fact at one time well over 20 points ahead , PP platform makes sense it is the direction we need to go, why not steal it...this will sort itself out during the election as things will be moving fast and furious, to fast for carney to steal everything... But you have not said anything about why is it they don't have a plan, or the Liberals can't think of one, that does not include major Carbon taxes, which are unpopular...with everyone....

Your one of the lucky ones, health care is a provincial thing, here in NB 5 people have died in waiting rooms looking to see a doctor, with average wait times well over 14 hours...all of those are red flags, the problem not enough family doctors, not enough medical staff, not enough funding... I guess that everything is ok with our military, RCMP, Coast Guard, CSIS,CBSA, Immigration, passport office, there is plenty more if you look.... Just because your world looks all fine and dandy does not mean the entire country is not in flames...

I've been up north a few times, and just surviving is a struggle let alone doing military stuff....so ya the rangers rock...Yes and carney just gave way millions more...this time to Hamas...Goddess, tampons for men are only meant for liberal men, not conservative men whom are still laughing every time the enter the bathroom... you do know every country has equipment that they produce for their use and then equipment they sell that is export versions of that equipment or dumbed down versions....Again the air force knew about this before they picked the F-35 in three separate competitions....not to mention there are 1000 of these aircraft produced today, and not one country has complained about anything the f-35 has to offer...except when trump came along...now for some reason it is garbage but what does the air force know about flying stuff....right....
