Well there is lots to complain about the military, the fact the entire country has been doing it for well decades, and i'm not the only once there been 5 or 6 generals doing the same thing a few of them are still serving...your the one with your head in the sand, when everything that is wrong with the military is due to this liberal government, nothing gets fixed unless people start complaining and others take action.... what do you care it's not your military, but for me Thats not my choice both my son and daughter are serving and i want don't them to face the same life threatening things i did...i know what a f*cking idea to still care about the institution that gave me everything.... It is my military and always will be, my obligations did not end when i retired, my oath does not have an expiration date....many retired RCR's are very connected to the Regiment, still going to mess dinners, still attending BN functions, even used as source of information to developed new tactics or teach old ones...Now maybe being in the SAR tech family they just give you one retirement dinner and you're gone...not so in the Infantry, we are a Royal up until we die and have a regimental funeral.... Federal government has responsibilities to the people of Canada to ensure it borders and Canadians are safe.. once this is done then they can spend on fancy social programs....because they failed we see the result in the US tariffing the f*ck out of us right now...Those are the priorities... those are the basic bills that must be paid...and while they may not be popular they still are priority, before anything else... we will see in the near future exactly what it is going to cost Canadians to bring this responsibilities to the forefront...

Trump has twice made us see what our shortfalls are, most Canadians agree with the solutions....and yet after the election what do you think is going to get done....to prevent this from happening again... You should be happy with how things are going for PP....we will see shortly after the election...who wins....

Yes it is "you" stated that We Canadians are doing our part as a member of NATO. When we are clearly not even meeting the minimum GDP contribution. which is effecting's not only our obsolete equipment, our manning issues, what we put into benefits for our people, it effect's our size, and that effect's our ability to force generate anything over a battle group...Not much of a member when all you dan deploy in 2500 personal at best...SO it has a major role in what we do or can't do... Canada is not doing everything it can, like the rest of NATO has slowed rolled it's support, we have been given a golden opportunity to show the world we can support Ukraine with much needed support, arty rounds, tanks, IFV's, arty and updating that equipment at the same time...but instead we have given a few tanks a few arty pieces a few Lav 6.0 CP variant's and some home grown armored cars... and a whole shit ton of stuff that was not worth it's weight in scrap....not really our finest hour....when considering countries like Spain, Norway, Sweden, Holland have given more than we have... Nobody in NATO, is really doing everything they can, All of NATO has slowed rolled it's support afraid of Mother Russia would do next...if they had this war would have been over yesterday....and yes the result of all of this is Ukrainian losses.

Is spending 1.38 of our GDP enough, are we doing our part when the minimum is 2.0 % of GDP, as a military we can't even deploy a full battle group ( less than 2500 personal) to Latvia during peace time i wonder what we could muster during a real crises..

Doesn't matter where it came from, you guys on the left think that we can continue to print money on a whim for any project, it pretty much grows on trees on the west lawn....and yet so much of the federal government is smoking and in most cases on fire due to lack of funding how does the left explain that....we don't need some high speed rail, when our healthcare system is a smoking hole, here in NB we have had 6 people die in waiting rooms waiting to see a doctor.... I 100 % agree with this statement, we could have gotten rid of all our tanks, maybe 60 more, all our arty M777 30 or more, all our TAPV,s our M113's even all of our lav 6.0, lots more we really could have given as well, made some major purchases and killed two birds with one stone, helped ukraine, and spent more for our NATO commitment.... I agree somewhat, RCMP and other policing agencies have been cut to the bone, and can not support the level of manpower it is going to take to dent the drugs in or around Canada. Increasing their budgets could produce better results...Just as CBSA, if you think that checking just 1 % of all trucks and containers, and 0 % of trains is enough , then your part of the problem....increasing their budget is also needed and not just by what they have done so far....which really is peanuts, i mean we just spent 38 bil on day care right....that funding could solve a lot of problems...like border, policing , artic bases, more on defence, more on CSIS, Coast guard, immigration....instead justin was only thinking about his legacy before he left....and not what the country needed....i can't wait for the election We barely check incoming....like 1 % of all incoming traffic....why is that lack of proper equipment, lack of manpower...
