  1. No i love Canada, what i don't care to much for is the everything that is left...and what they have done with this country...it has been far to long without any real leadership...and while Carney is light years ahead of Justin in that department he is very slow to show any progress....even Liberal voters are saying it... your statement is right out of the liberal play book, don't like what the liberals are doing to the country "JUST" move.... I think every Canadian has the right to express their disappointment in where our country is today, and the governing party....With out moving, or being told to STFU...But hey nobody force you to respond, there is the ignore button, or just don't read my posts....but some how you can't help yourself, just step up and tell me I'm your favorite poster...
  2. Then your not very good at this are you....the US economy is 10 times the size of ours, they are not dependent on Canada for anything except energy....They are going to dictate to Canada....what they like or want...or they simple replace Canada trade with someone else, like Mexico...does it take a genius to see that, no.... Are you saying Canada has not already bent over, when it comes to US demands or requests....we will wait until the summer and see who dances to whose music....and just for augment sake because you and the liberals have our pride at sake here...what is Canada going to do when it does not get is way... what happens when the US carries out it's threats and drops Canada from CUSMA...and tariffs everything until we do toe the line, what happens to our economy then...Well in this case the smaller kids get their face caved in...over and over until that kid learns either to fight or where they fit in on the food chain...And this fight Canada will never win....that's reality....except in this case the kid is 10 feet tall, and we are all but 2 feet....and this is going to show up in Cusma deal....
  3. That's what you see, what the US see's is Canada not a reliable NATO partner for decades, not a good NORAD partner, and in their eyes not a good trade partner....we have lose immigration policies, our border has more holes in it than swiss cheese....(renting 4 helos is not going to fix that) To date Canada has given them the finger, and now in comes trump who is more forceful and for the most part Canada crys...So Canada has actions so far have lead us to this point....we need to step up and own that sh!t....and take some action...You and me don't know what the US are talking about Chinese made cars, but they have also laid out the law to them as well...We should not be dealing with the Chinese at all.... Unless you have not heard Unions , Doug ford have already said NO to Chinese cars or any vehicles...But sure bring them in and see what uncle trump does, see if it is worth all the trouble....Like i said they hold all the cards....we do not have leverage over the US Like i said wait until this summer when Cusma is on the table...and we will see who does the talking and who does the listening.... What do we know what is going on, we receive little tidbits, from our government , it is the USA government doing all the talking and none of their news is any good. What we do know is Carney was the only one to deal with trump, he is a master negotiator and well know banker , that has done nothing in the way of handling trump...but he has flown a lot...and eats some very expensive airplane food...that's what i know.... The cost of living is costing jobs here in Canada , everything cost more...fuel is out of control, what has he done to solve any of that....how many homes has he built in Canada to date....the failures are building...Lets not forget the US economy is ten times ours.....when they fart we smell it....
  4. So how is that the military responsibility...any shortage of critical infra structure is either a provincial or federal problem....And i am very skeptical that there is going to be any MASSIVE military build up as you think there is....it might surge to 1000 people, but improving military infra structure, sure fill your boots, but including road networks , civilian infra structure is nothing more than padding the NATO budget....when in reality it was the Provincial and federal governments that created this problem...not the military., Military has operated 300 people at each one of those main logistical hubs....with out any problem.....Now the have a means to spend money and kill two birds with one stone....have money to count as NATO spending and help out what they have neglect for decades.... Again your talking about cost, lets not start cying about how expensive it is to live there, Military people get extra bonus added to their pay to compensate....more military means more money flowing into the community...it is not a take take situation....military will provide good paying jobs to the community, along with a long list of other things.........But it is not the military job to provide for all their needs that is a provincial and federal job... How much of this money is going to other Inuit towns or villages, that do not have a military presence....None they will fix 5 northern communities and Canada will forget the rest...Is it tough to live up north sure it is....does it cost a lot...sure it is....but who is suppose to look after that stuff.....the governments...Once everyone heard about the federal government boosting their budget every man and dog is line to get what is theirs...and in the mean time the military will get a few trinkets and call it a day...
  5. You can laugh all you want, we can all laugh or cry together when he tariffs everything we trade with them....but you voted for the left right...., we can always eat grass and dried bugs right...we will still have our pride....we can sing songs like F trump, and that will fill our bellies....
  6. That's what i would do, rest the fate of our economy to wishful thinking...I'm sure that is in the economics 101 hand book...makes sense now....you read the lefts hand out....good for you...
  7. Why do we need the US to explain anything to US...well we do 80 % of our trade with them, we need them more than they need us....Yes we are antagonizing them , they clearly stated that they did not want any Chinese cars to be sold in north America...not by us and not by Mexico.... Chinese autos are not part of the NA auto industry....sorry...ask Ontario or Canadas Auto union if they want Chinese cars ? they have said clear NO fing way....the industry has been heavily damaged and we want to give more away....is that good economics ? Your not in charge, the liberals think it is a good idea, but they are not in charge either, the terms will be laid out by the US, or they will leave CUSMA leaving Canada with a full bag of tariffs on everything..... So ya if you think Canada has any control it is because the US gave it to us , pissing them off before Cusma is signed, is not a good idea........we will see how that works out come time to settle CUSMA.... I'm not my opinion, that is todays reality, that while this president is in charge, he will get his way or destroy everything in his path....Canada will bow to him come Cusma, or lose everything......even Carney the touted master negotiator will not get his way on these issues...Carney does not hold all the cards and the ones he has can be replaced by another nation... No you elected a guy that has not accomplished much in his first year....Election is over....your man is not the man we all thought he was...
  8. Regardless of who YOU or the liberal party think of the president of the US, the fact remains is they are the big dog in the street, and if you F around you lay around....we need them more than they need us....I don't know why i have to explain that to someone that claims to be an economic guy.. That's what this is all about, the left does not like to be told what to do....got nothing to do with trump or the US...what your doing is destroying our chances at a CUSMA agreement, and a lot more....TO you and those like you, being right or being your own man is more important to you than survival itself....The global reaction was to get a deal, and over ride their pride....because their nations depend on US commerce ..It is called diplomacy...right now we have none... So trump is all over the map, this is not Canada's first trump presidency...and yet we have forgotten what he is like , read a book and find out how to deal with him.....leave your attitude and pride at the door, and think about the country and not the next election.... you can call it what ever you want, i call it being a realist.....BUT lets be clear, Canada is not in the drivers seat, never has been, never will be....so you can bend over like the rest of the countries or learn how to eat birch bark and bird seeds...once our economy is destroyed....
  9. Yes we are, if the US has already explained dealing with China is a bad idea....and we do it anyways that is antagonizing.... And yes i agree Trump has laid down the rules, and we have constituently broken them....He as the largest dic* on the block gets to make all the rules...not Canada not anyone else....we has a nation have to come to those terms...we are not as big or as important as we think we are... So this makes sense, we antagonize our largest trading partner , and then try and do business with a nation that holds only 4 % maybe....how do you square that hole, anyone with a functioning brain would say that is a mission impossible...if for some reason we can not even cut off China that represents a 4 % share of GDP....how do we mange to wean off the US 80% share....It sounds good on the liberal propaganda sheet and if it was easy we should be noticing a huge drop in US trade...but we are not...it is mission imposable...and when the next president comes in it will all be reversed...
  10. Where in my post did i state that ? Building anything from China here in Canada is a bad idea....period....I'll repeat that anything from "China" is a bad idea....The Americans don't like it, because it undermines North American auto industry....which includes most of those you mentioned....
  11. Im sure he likes the idea of not having tariffs ....maybe we should ask doug ford what he thinks...
  12. Yes that is what I'm saying...you seem OK to risk our current trading practices we have with the US , over some Chinese cars..... When your one of the worlds largest economy's , and our next door neighbor, to whom 70 to 80 % of our trade goes to yes....they do have a say in what and whom we trade with.....Just as they have a say on who they trade with.....or they stop taking trade from Canada and Canadians learn how to eat crow.. and become the 51 st state.... Why do you hate being in a prosperous country so much would risk most of our GDP for a couple of Chinese cars.......Is this the hill you want to die on.....DO you liberals think about consequences at all...
  13. As ridiculous as antagonizing our largest trading partner i'm sure...70 to 80 % of our trade is with the US...So for you and other liberals this makes sense, lets keep kicking the US in the Nuts and hope we can diversify our trade to the point we don't rely on the US...How well is that working out for us.....We can't even replace Chinas 4 % of GDP trade how do we replace the 70 to 80 % of US trade.....Please Use little words that my attitude and understanding can comprehend....Well i may not have a degree in economics but I'm pretty sure that this liberal reasoning is not going to solve any of our problems, with this president.......Even you understand that... When we have not signed on to a new trade agreement yes, i worry about upsetting the Americans, signing anything with the Chinese is not a good move, they have already slapped Canada with massive tariffs in the past because they did not get what they wanted, what makes they a reliable partner... not to mention all the human rights abuses, they are still committing....And as some liberals on here have already suggested morals and values should not come into play when we are talking about money....SO why not buy oil or other products from Iran, Iraq, Russia, Afghanistan, shit liberals lost their minds when Canada wanted to sell LAV 7 to Saudi.. but now it is ok to do business with anyone....because it is 2026 baby The US is the largest economy in North America, they can dictate what they want to whom ever they want because we need them more than they need us....Risking any of that is RIDICULOUS and lacks understanding of how all this works...
  14. We will all care when CUSMA is not agreed upon or canceled and the US levies tariffs on all Canadian goods....you do know 70 to 80 % of all our trade goes to the US right...and when it is tariffed and us consumers are not buying it because it is to expensive....what do we do then sherlock.....
  15. We are not talking about massive military growth, there are 300 Military personal at each location , it might surge to 1000, unless you have a source that states other wise...My problem with this whole solution the liberals have is making this a Military expenditure, when clear this is either a provincial, or federal failure to provide this communities what they need to survive in the way of funding........ and now Making it a military problem so they can account for NATO expenditures which Canada has known about these critical shortages for decades....and now suddenly we will throw money at it and count it as military infra structure...because it is convenient.... As for building anything, we built CFS alert the most northern facility in the world, i think we can build some hangers and barracks/ PMQ for the military... where is the 300 military people that are already there , where do they live... Not sure what the prices of food has to do with the topic, yes it is expensive, Military pers get bonus for just that thing....
  16. California high speed rail fisco...was suppose to cost just 33 bil now costing at over 125 bil and no track laid yet.... Appalling 12-figure cost of California Governor Gavin Newsom's high speed rail plan revealed
  17. Yes, this is going to go over like a lead balloon for out neighbors down south...it is almost like carney wants to poke trump with a sharp stick....this combines with sending champagne to dig up more trade...Is there any one that thinks this is a good idea.... Stellantis discusses building Chinese EVs at Ont. plant: report | Hanomansing Tonight | Watch
  18. Does any nation not deal with Canada because we don't have HSR ?.... Train tickets from Quebec City to Toronto typically cost between $215 and $300+ CAD (approx. €222) for a one-way trip, depending on how far in advance you book. Operated by VIA Rail, the journey takes approximately 9 to 10 hours. Booking directly via the VIA Rail website offers the best fares and schedules. Wanderu +1 Average Price: ~$217 CAD (around €222) Duration: ~9-10 hours
  19. Psssst no one is allow to talk about Quebec....something about voodoo spells and stuff...
  20. It is obvious you did not watch any of those video's ...and if you did and think this is normal behavior then that would explain a lot about you.....Batsh!t crazy is the most polite word i could find at the time...and it does not even scratch the surface on how insane those gatherings got....And we are not trying to limit any peoples choices, just sift out the crazies, and the nets is full with this party...........just calling this one out how it seems to most Canadians...And if you think these guys are going to grow the NDP voter pool I'll bet you it will never get any where nears its hay day, or even Mulcair days....and this has got nothing to do with working class people...
  21. Those that start wars rarely suffer at all, our sons and daughters are going to pay with everything they have....and civilians they are going to pay the most, with there lives hardships, sacrifices like food rationing, fuel rationing, hard labor..., and their own sons and daughters...After that who will care about climate change... or High speed rail, etc....
  22. Are you sure, Yellowknife is bigger than i city i live in now, military wise not very much, but enough civilian infra structure to host even more military than it already does... Yellowknife population 20340, https://www.century21yk.ca/blog/2022/03/does-yellowknife-need-a-new-neighbourhood/ Whitehorse, population 31,000 Look like it supports a lot, even could support more military than there is already... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitehorse#/media/File:Panorama_for_the_Yukon_College_Roof.jpg Resolute bay , population almost 200, they seem to have power, water, and sewage....but then again it is one of the most northern communities in Canada....CAF use to do it's advanced winter warfare course up there....not sure how many more troops would be posted there.... Inuvik, population 3200 people, even has a mosque.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inuvik#/media/File:Inuvik,_NT.jpg Iqaluit population 7400 people looks like they are doing well, they have water, sewage, power looks like they could handle some more military personal.... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/Leg_Building_Iqaluit_2000-08-27.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iqaluit#/media/File:Iqaluit_skyline.jpg Each one has an airstrip, Yellowknife and Whitehorse have there own airports with the military off to the side, and i'm pretty sure both are operating under provincial funding....the others are dirt strips...and very few have a military presence...Not sure where you got your info from...but it does not support much of your post...
  23. I think that's exactly what we should do , end all fossil fuels , turn out the lights and sit back and watch the left eat each other...when they have had enough we should go anther week...and any one left should embrace fossil fuels as their new god...anyone that does not should be exported to Baffin island to live as the Inuit do.
  24. Yes , because that is exactly what Canada needs a party that is absolutely bat sh!t crazy...and those wearing tin foil hats should have someone or party they can vote for....My concern is there is so many Canadians that fit into that category...
  25. Is this something new, when we built CFB "what ever" did we build water treatment plants sewage plants, power plants as well to support the ever growing civilian population...No we did not in all cases.... , this is just an example of what Carney includes in that infrastructure 5 %....the fact that most Military bases rely on civilian infra structure for water, sewage, and power... Each base "should" have it's own military infra structure to be self sufficient but that is not the case every where. NATO article 6 describes where the NATO article 5 can take place...So one does not have to be on NATO missions or business as you suggest....At least not according to NATO policies.... For the purpose of Article 5, an armed attack on one or more of the Parties is deemed to include an armed attack: on the territory of any of the Parties in Europe or North America, on the Algerian Departments of France 2, on the territory of Turkey or on the Islands under the jurisdiction of any of the Parties in the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer; on the forces, vessels, or aircraft of any of the Parties, when in or over these territories or any other area in Europe in which occupation forces of any of the Parties were stationed on the date when the Treaty entered into force or the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer. https://www.nato.int/en/about-us/official-texts-and-resources/official-texts/1949/04/04/the-north-atlantic-treaty
