  1. Using your firearms in self defense can go bad many ways, here in NB i've posted many times about a guy using an unloaded shotgun broken in half to scare off some kids stealing his ATV, He the gun owner was arrested and had his weapons taken away. In other provinces person breaking into home was shot, RCMP arrested the homeowner charged with manslaughter, sent to jail, no parole, waited almost a full year for his court date, while in jail, yes he was found not guilty, but it cost him his job, his home, and finally his wife... Plenty of other laws that could see you land in jail, for not fully knowing your rights or the law...I do own plenty of firearms, and trust me if my family was seriously threatened in any way, be lots of pink mist on the walls ... But for self defense i like to start with a good old hockey stick or aluminum baseball bat.. "Evening officer, i was practicing my road hockey skills"....where did that body over there come from....He charged the goalie, officer had to tune him up...Ya looks like a suicide , he says...have a good night officer..
  2. Your statement is hard to swallow, considering the remarks from the left side of the political spectrum has said to our national media....and while the country is considered racist by our national leaders, your confidently stating we are not anti semitic. Which promoted me to ask are we really just racist against everyone else, and we like the jews....?,which one is it.... OR maybe our leaders are just full of Bull Sh*t The PM has stated on national media the following statements... https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rcmp-systemic-racism-lucki-trudeau-1.5607622 Then there is NDP leader responding to the question do you think Canada is racist..."NO QUESTION" was his reply https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/jagmeet-singh-racist-canada-1.5316318
  3. And here i thought it was a "personal" choice to smoke or take opiods, and they even come with colorful pictures and warnings not to mention all the education funding the government spent....this could happen if you smoke, and yet it is the companies fault for making them smoke...when are people going to take responsibility for their own actions...
  4. This is what Canadians want....until they stand up and make this an issue nothing will stop and our military will decline into nothingness...
  5. How does this fit into the LGBTQ community ? I mean they started this whole infinite gender theory do they have a say, does the government have any control, it's clearly not based in science or or any medical teachings..., they just make it as they go.....which begs the question why does everyone feel the need to agree.... Is their going to be a whole new list of genders classifications coming from the supreme courts,or is this just adding to all the confusion...I can just imigine how confusing this gets at the schools.
  6. I really thought this is just a fad, that all of it would blow over....now a ruling by supreme court adds confusion to all of it. Apparently the word women is confusing...and now any women is to be referred to as person with a virgina...i only assuming that MAN is also confusing and should be referred to as person with a penis...this is where it gets really confusing what do we call a person transition to a man , or vice versa... What was wrong with man and women, it has worked forever...or male and female... FIRST READING: Supreme Court decision says the word 'woman' is confusing, 'unfortunate' (msn.com)
  7. Follow me for a second , Hamas is in charge of the Gaza strip, they control everything in Gaza.. where do you think this funding is going...are you that naive to think it is going to the people...Hamas controls everything ...
  8. So i ask you why are you defending the most current practices of our military, you must have seen the faults, at least in the media...and yet you have accused me and others of not being a good soldier and recommending the family business to other Canadians. When i have a son and a daughters in the forces... plus many other still serving members that i call good friends. I know what it is like to carry a friends coffin, or attend a ramp ceremony and watch that flag draped coffin get loaded on to a herc or C-17, what we do is dangerous enough with out adding to it poor training standards, poor equipment, no money for training, the list goes on and on and on...These are lives of troops that i have interacted with on a daily basis, so ya i'm pissed off....and i want things to change.....they died becasue of poor decisions made at government level and within the Military...These are the mistakes that i have taken issue with...all if not most were preventable...I lay the condition of our military at the feet of our government and it's citizens...these are the 2 key pivot points for change without their support there is nothing that is going to change... Thats not what i have seen from you when posting to other that may disagree with you...it comes across that you are on the high ground out of touch with others experiences... I am very aware that there is more to the military than the Army...and yes i am army centric as you are Airforce centric...we have very different career paths and career experiences...I have seen the direct result of poor standards, and poor equipment, poor decisions made at the government level.....paid for in blood of troops that served under me, or with me...these deaths were not training accidents, but needless deaths of soldiers because our government and citizens are to cheap to do what is nessicary... these are the risks that no one talks about until you have experienced them...Would i recommend joining the CF... I'm really hoping that PP changes all of that...today under the liberals i would not join the boy scouts if the liberals were in charge....once PP is in charge i hope citizens of Canada see just what damage has been done, and put fixing it on the to do list...
  9. What i did look at was Canadians reaction to each as they were happening, and the polling numbers really did not reflect the seriousness of the scandal...and in my opinion was, the entire scandall liberal voters did not seem to mind... Well in this case all it really did was give us something to him and waw about at the water cooler...No one was held responsible or should i say had any consequences...it was like Canadians expect this type of things to happen and just shrug it off...So my question was did this journalism make any changes, accomplish anything other than for our entertainment not really...
  10. I have already stated very clearly that i have very little experience with the NAVY or Air Force...and what i post is my experience, not sure why your having an issue with this point ... And like i said being that over wieght puts others in danger, including themselves...and yes their have been over wieght people in all elements but todays people are taking this to new levels...300 lbs is becoming more common, as PT has become less prevalent...and almost non existent with the Air Force/ Navy..as there are no repercussions to being that heavy... Your examples are misleading you've named Sqns with very limited numbers of aircraft one to 3 aircraft are not very good indictors ...in the article i provided they are talking about all the CF-18's forces wide...Herc fleets, helo fleets, so ya more than 1 or 2 aircraft in the hanger...but dozens... And i'm sure 40 years from now, retired CWO's will be saying the same thing....
  11. Well we must have had to very different careers, Mine i was taught from a wee private "never pass a fault", and until those faults are fixed or i pass on, then yes i will be that guy...you have two options really, the ignore button, or just keep moving on...Maybe you spent to much time rubbing elbows in Ottawa to really see what is happening on the ground, across the entire forces...Me i spent my time rubbing elbows with real soldiers, on the battle fields pick by this nation, and seen men and women pay for the mistakes made by this government and Ottawa...But i will tell you this it is not all rainbows and unicorns as you suggest...not even close... I'm sure you would be singing a different tune if you had people under your command had died, due to obsolete equipment, or not having the right tools at the right time...and only when enough of your comrades had died then and only then would some action be taken..you may be happy with all of that, but i doubt very much you personally had to write condolence letters home to wifes of your soldiers...or your opinion even attitude would be much different...My sole interest in all of this is to inform, so that maybe just maybe change will happen... You can convince yourself you have the high ground here, but in reality, you've been out of the military for far to long and fail to grasp the real conditions inside the military of today....The state of our equipment, the state of moral, the state of our personal, and the state of our chain of command...are all at critical levels..... You can paint me however you want to, that seems to be one of your specialties, but i will not deceive ONE Canadian on how things are in today's military...
  12. Why would they want to be in the military, your treated like crap, your own countrymen pis$ all over you, we can't even treat our vets with respect, much less treat them for their medical needs....Our own government has nothing but bad things to say about them day after day....Canadians don't care ....or at least refuse to stand up and correct it all....It is not that they don't want to join the military, it is they don't want all the drama that goes with serving..
  13. It might have started in previous governments but this recent liberal government put the nail in the coffins...Purple hair and manbuns has already proven that it is not working it is a failed experiment, it is not attracting the type of people the military needs.... I don't recall focussing on one element, i did use the word military , which includes all 3 elements...it is important to have tough physical fitness standards in ALL 3 elements, it helps with enduring heat, long hours, hard physical work...when was the last time you seen a 300 lb SAR tech...might be a reason for that...They have their own fitness levels, much different than say what you find in a herc sqn...or in the Infantry, there is a forces fitness level, which anyone can pass, The entire military has one fitness standard, on top of that each element has their own fitness standards, getting to a combat unit and you'll find they also have their own standards...why because the CF standards are to low...the Army standard is to low...And to be in combat you need to be fit both mentally and physically...regardless of element you serve in...A supply tech, Admin clerk, traffic tech, in the field still needs to do the same stuff as an infanteer, dig holes, shoot, move, communicate...in all weather and climates...that requires to be fit...those that are not are going to be a safety issue for all the others... Army commanders are only allowed to promote PTES to one hookers on their own accord..., everything else is done through the Career manger...No exceptions...no message no promotion... PER merit boards are a not the end all be all, lots of politics and who you know goes into one....and if the senior staff decide that sugar tits is get promoted before joe blow thats what happens...It use to be if your boss knew how to write and was creative you stood a chance, now there is no more than one short sentence per bullet point, no stories, just straight to the point....nothing is what it use to be... Can't talk about air trades, but today everyone in all elements use the same system, as for the old system you talk about was proven not to be fair...it was more about who you knew and what weight they held within that unit...and if you could convince they majority sitting around the table that your guy was the best, he got promoted...if your boss was not a very good orator or could not make a convincing argument then that soldier did not do well at the boards...unless another person stood up for that individual...which does not happen that often, but it does happen... What i found funney is nothing has changed in the maritimes times are tough, and they are not flocking to the recruiting centers, becasue the military offers very little, compared to out west..for the same reason no one else is flocking to recruiting centers, government has painted the military as womanizers,a poisoned environment, where charts and boards rule who gets in and who gets promoted...pay is below the average canadian wage, the equipment sucks, discipline has gotten bad, Snr ncos are being threaten with harassments if they dare discipline any soldiers... and people are leaving faster than they can be replaced.... the military is not competitive with other jobs across the country..... Not sure what to tell you the military you left is not even recognizable today...take 2 RCR as an example they have a company and a half in LATVIA, and 90 troops in Gagetown, most of those 90 troops in Gagetown have their releases in today....those in Latvia were told to wait until they got home, and a good chunk of them are getting out...thats one unit...every unit is having major issues.... You mentioned Air craft maintainers, i talked to a Airframe tech working in cold lake on CF-18's over the xmas holidays they are short about a 1/3 of their people to keep jets flying...he says they are burning out, working 10 to 12 hours a day...just to keep up... some of those sources i gave you mentioned a 50 percent serviceability rate with some aircraft below that number , while you were in ever seen numbers that low...in the BN we had LAV serviceability rates as low as 30 to 40 percent, maintainers would work over the weekends and long work weeks to get us up so we could send one company out with a full compliment of LAVS, there are 3 rifle companies per BN...and we could only fill one companies worth of vehicles and soldiers...we use to get to the exercise in school buses, thats right yellow school busses it is a good look for the Army...And you know what the media has covered all of this ....i don't think a day goes by when the media has a story on our military...Army, Navy, Air Force your military s long dead...Mine military as i retired in 2015 is dead as well...
  14. This is do to the wall charts and diversity... they need to balance diverse wall charts are why a lot of Canadians are waiting in the wings....I'm really hoping that a change of government will address this...it is going to take years to correct the damage that has already been done... I think and this is my opinion, that every government department should hire those candidates best qualified for the job, regardless of skin color, religion, sex...and in the military, do we really need people that can not live without purple hair, huge beards, manbuns, or that identify as multi genders all at once...No we don't....there is no I in team .....most standards have been so relaxed now that weight and physical fitness are not that important, we have lots people that are 300 lbs in uniform right now...That is in all 3 elements...army , navy , and airforce....No one is asking the question, do these people pose a risk to other soldiers...try carrying one of these guys under enemy action to get them to safety or medical attention...Sorry man your going to die...becasue you eat to many big macs... What the military needs is to recruit people that are fit, both mentally and physically for any job in the military...the military also needs to maintain these standards through out their entire careers or punt them... Promotions should also be based on merit, the best people available should be promoted once again not based on some diverse chart, that needs a purple women, with green tities that indenties as fire truck...those are not merited qualities... I find it funney, back in my day, almost everyone in the navy was from NFLD...and every other trade was 4 out of every 10 were from the maritimes
  15. Yes the uncovered the misdeeds of government, to sell news for a profit...these stories are really no better than gossip, these government scandals are entertainment for all political parties, gives us something to talk about at the water cooler....nothing will be done to those responsible nor any consequences will every come of these scandals... and if you think it is the voters that are going to hold them responsible think again...Justin's unpopularity are not due to these scandals' but rather how he handled other crises in Canada... Liberal voters did not care about these scandals
  16. This happened not far from where i live, something to think about before using a firearm to defend yourself...Note the man no longer has hios firearms... https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/burton-man-charged-for-confronting-prowlers-1.916277
  17. Ya you are, tell me you would not defend your family from intruders with whatever it took...including taking a life...
  18. Pretty easy to blame climate change, it is the go to for everything these days...and i can see that climate change does have an impact of prices, of food, through shortages or supply issues... but how do you explain other products, say electronics, vehicles, housing, etc etc...that do not need perfect weather to manufacture items... it used to be blamed on supply shortages, but since the pandemic everything is back to normal except prices...of course lets not forget Justins spending spree of more than 700 BIL, Thats got to have an impact on inflation, more than climate change , but i'm only guessing here...we could also throw in a lot of Justin's policies affecting our natural resources or the limitation of them... And anyone that says the carbon tax does not effects prices of everything in this nation should stay out of the conversation...or perhaps explain how it does not effect prices...But that is probably to difficult..
  19. Your getting pretty good at shooting down everyone's explanation...please explain to the crowd, why do you think prices of everything are going up...
  20. It is a waste of resources at all levels of government period...which could be used elsewhere. It does nothing to reduce drug usage, it has already been noted here it increases usage, by supplying free drugs to anyone that wants them...please explain how this is going to solve our drug crises...and why don't we give free booze out to alcoholics, becasue it does not work .... Stop...trying to invoke some emotional response...Taking drugs is a personal choice, if you don't already know the consequences of taking these drugs your a ******...and yet they still take them...knowing they will die sooner than later.........and that does not deter them from using does it...How does that become a problem for government...Today there are lots of programs designed to help addicts to quit and get the help they need...but the addict needs to want to get clean...once again it is a personal choice.... If it was my kid, my spouse,or relative , i would do everything in my power to ensure they don't use any drugs and if that means following them around 24/7 then so be it...or if that meant kidnaping them bringing them out to the back 40 to dry out then so be it...i would not stop ever... I've been very fortunate that none of my family has ever been lured into that world..and for that i am extremely grateful.
  21. There already killing themselves, stop reviving them every 5 minutes and they will eventually die out...just need to keep the leftist on side...
  22. clubbing after shooting is against the law, excessive force...just keep dumping rounds into them until they are no longer a threat...Here in Canada it does not matter what you do anyways, your going to be arrested, and put in cells until you get your day in court...which could be a while so get comfortable...and if it is deemed self defense then your free to go. Of course you're still responsible for your lawyers bills, your families bills etc etc...even if your NOT guilty...most people end up losing everything, home marriage, etc etc...and going in to a huge debt....That's our justice system...So before you pull the trigger, you need to make some decisions......unless you have lots of cash...
  23. Public executions' are frowned upon here in Canada, that being said do you think they still have a drug problem...
  24. Yes, but you won't find any organized criminals or back packers that do carry in any bear sh*t will you...
  25. 100 % agree 12 gauge is the best home defense weapon available, it has limited range, won't penetrate most walls, and you don't have to be that accurate, point and shoot, makes lots of noise, which grabs everyone's attention.. drawbacks are reloading which takes some time when dealing with a pump action, ...there are shotguns out there with magazines if there was more than one intruder... or you wanted to make sure that one guy was not around to hold a grudge...
