Most journalists it seems are very left wing these days.That's not a crime in itself,but there is certainly more reporting of opinions than of facts in the papers and on television.I haven't found a worse example of this than a couple of shows on MSNBC.I urge you guys to check out these two programs,The Ed Show and Countdown with Keith Olberman.I have watched the Ed Show a few times and it's downright vicious.If you think Beck or O'Reilly are biased,you ain't seen nothing yet! Being from Ottawa,I know a number of people that work in the federal public service.I admit my sampling is quite small,but from what I know, most of these people got their jobs because friends or relatives got them in.Merit had little to do with it. If this version of employment equity is so wonderful,does left wing logic not dictate that it be extended to the entire private sector as well?Last time I looked,the Ottawa Senators seem to be comprised of white males only.Shouldn't their team reflect the diversity of Ottawa? How about the policy of hiring the best available person for a job,regardless of race,gender or whatever?

What's good about soccer is that it's a great sport for kids in that it doesn't require the huge amounts of money like hockey does.The players competing in the World Cup are highly skilled athletes and it's amazing what they can do with the ball. Now for the bad stuff.The officiating for what is supposedly the most watched sporting event in the world is god-awful to say the least.Then there is the...........DIVING!Depending on your perspective,it's either embarrassing or hilarious.Every team does it.I find it funny to watch in slow motion,the look of agony on their faces is something else .How about the predictable celebration following an actual goal?When the scorer runs ,then slides on his knees,arms spread like Roger Daltrey? I predict Spain will prevail in the final in what will be a high scoring affair,1-0 over the Netherlands.Sort of like the soccer version of the trap. I'll take a pass on watching.
