  1. More segregation......wonderful.
  2. Isn't 1.1 billion dollars sort of a competitive advantage?
  3. Apparently, most Canadians prefer American shows by a hefty margin. http://www.toronto.com/blog/post/703782--the-brioux-report-bang-still-big-x-factor-no-longer-a-factor-in-canadian-top-10
  4. It's my opinion,I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this either.Canada would survive without the CBC although sadly,I think they will always have their place at the trough, regardless of who forms the government. They should at least be openly accountable with how they spend our money. What time does Ezra come on?
  5. I see.So all Republican contenders save for one or two are not sane?Suggesting that most of these people are not sane is nonsense. And are you also saying that Barrack Obama does not have a rather dismal record so far as President of the United States?
  6. I think even the "craziest" Republican contender would likely do a better job as President, hands down, than Barrack Obama.
  7. True, the Sun chain is conservative minded on the whole. But last time I checked, they are not handed 1.1 billion dollars every year from taxpayers. Can you honestly say the CBC isn't lelft-leaning?
  8. Are these occupiers actually looking for work now?Things are far from perfect in Canada, but on the other hand,if a person so chooses,he or she never has to do a single day's work in their life in this country. They will be provided with free dental, health care and most of the essentials courtesy of Canada's cash for life system(welfare).Seems to me they just want everything in life handed to them on a silver platter while contributing NOTHING to this country.
  9. I would like to know if in this particular poll, they mentioned just how much the CBC receives each year.I seem to recall some kind of poll in the Sun a few weeks ago that indicated that the majority of those questioned, had no idea just how much money the CBC gets. I don't think we need the CBC,and if we are forced to fund them, they should be required to open their books.
  10. I don't think a Tea Party protest could go on for this length of time since it's a safe assumption that most Tea Party supporters actually work for a living. The same cannot be said of those in the "Occupy" movement.
  11. Unfortunately,it seems that anyone daring to challenge anything supported by the left(cradle to grave welfare state, unrestricted immigration, generous handouts to special interest groups,etc...)is considered "far right". While I don't agree with much of the foolishness that typically comes from the left, they are most certainly entitled to their opinions. On the other hand, those on the left will not tolerate any opinions that differ from their own.
  12. Can you provide a link to the NDP constitution?Something directly from the NDP itself? Apparently it's not even on their own website for some reason. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/inside-politics-blog/2011/04/the-ndps-missing-constitution.html
  13. Punked resorts to rudeness because he or she is incapable of using facts or reason to support his or her own viewpoint.
  14. Canada Post locked them out because they claimed they were losing too much money as a result of the rotating strikes. Why do you think taxes are so high in this country?Could it have something to do with our massive public service? I have heard letter carriers make almost 50 grand a year, which is not bad.Are you not aware that Canada Post employees have a very generous pension plan?I believe they can accumulate their sick leave as well, and while we're on the subject of sick leave, consider that Canada Post employees perhaps get more time off in sick leave alone than many workers get in total vacation time in the private sector. Not too shabby if you ask me.For you to even mention the word slavery in this context is absurd. http://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/Canada-Post-Salaries-E8747.htm
  15. There are some who do get free rides from unions...the bad employees.I saw it firsthand during my time as a Teamster. We had some employees that didn't do much and the union protected them and got them the highest rate of pay.One guy in particular will not show up to work if it's too hot or if he knows there is a difficult job ahead.Unions do some positive things but protecting useless workers is not one of them.
  16. "Poorly compensated?" At Canada Post? Can you name one full time job there that does not pay well?Cumulative sick leave is not enough? Is the pension plan not rich enough?Retirement in a persons early 50s is not enough? Give me a break.
  17. I believe letter carries make something around 24-25 dollars an hour, and the inside posties are also paid very well. They all have relatively high pay and generous benefits that exceed those of most private sector workers. And let's be honest here, one doesn't need much skill or education to work at Canada Post, management being the exception. Can anyone name any other job that pays as much as a letter carrier, benefits included, that also requires as little skill? As for the argument that Canada Post has been profitable for a number of years, this is true. But then again, they do have a monopoly on letters under a certain weight don't they? Like all government workers, the posties also have rather high rates of absenteeism, which we pay for. Most of these people would have a difficult time of it in the private sector. I already pay all my bills online but still recieve them by snail mail.I'll switch to e-billing. I say open them up for competition.
  18. MORE MONEY!THAT WILL SOLVE EVERYTHING WON'T IT?ENTITLED TO THEIR ENTITLEMENTS. Not good for them, not good for us.
  19. What percentage of the total overall budget for Aboriginals does 127 million represent?
  20. Would you still feel the same way if she held up a sign that said "Stop Layton" or "Stop Socialism"? I heard on the radio yesterday that she apparently has a website up where she is asking for donations via Paypal, credit cards etc I'm not sure how much money she will actually get since left wingers are notoriously cheap when it comes to parting with their own money. How much will you send her?
  21. So did Nycole have any role in exposing Adscam?Did she help with that one?Could she tell us which public servants were running the paper shredders?
  22. The Harper Tories, and indeed, every federal party, have always extended a hand to Quebec....and the hand has always been filled with billions in cash!Quebec has more rights than other provinces and yet they are never satisfied!I see these election results as being split between the makers(of wealth)and takers(Quebec, government unions etc). The sun will still rise 4 years from now.
  23. The fact that this lady got to be a candidate for the NDP in the first place speaks volumes about their selection process.NOBODY can tell me this person is even remotely qualified for this position. As for the Communist,he is a perfect fit for the NDP. By the way,I think memories of Bob Rae helped the Conservatives in Ontario in a big way.
  24. If the Liberals fair poorly in this election,Rae stands a very good chance of becoming leader after Iggy get's the Julius Caesar treatment. And since many Canadians hold Liberals and Conservatives to very different standards,he stands a fair chance at being Prime Minister too. (One thing even scarier for me....... Prime Minister Justin Trudeau! )
