  1. I know the NDP supporters won't like this, but the main reason I got turned off by that party and downright scared of them is....... Bob Rae.
  2. Some lady called Lowell Green's program this past week with a story claiming that an elderly parent in a nursing home who has dementia apparently now votes Liberal with some help from the staff. She claimed this is not an isolated incident either.Who knows how many elderly people in nursing homes are voting with outside help but who do not actually have the mental capacity to vote on their own. Many nursing home employees are union people so we know how they tend to vote.
  3. In today's left leaning Ottawa Citizen from page 3:The Conservatives say the polling station was illegal and unauthorized. They also claim there was partisan material close to the ballot box and that their scrutineers were NOT granted permission to observe the voting. Both actions are in breach of the Canada Elections Act. The chief electoral officer admits to not pre-authorizing the special ballot station but surprise surprise,Elections Canada says they will consider the ballots legitimate and will be counted. Gee, what are the chances of a "special"voting station being held in any Conservative stronghold and being accepted by Elections Canada?
  4. When the time comes,I hope they vote "Oui".
  5. Hey TTM this was fun!Now can you write something about Liberal honesty, integrity and trust?
  6. Lowell Green pointed out on his radio show today the before the previous election,Stephane Dion was apparently on record with some newspaper as firmly ruling out a coalition with the NDP and Bloc.We all know how good his word was.
  7. I have voted Conservative every occasion but one.During the election waged over the free trade debate I voted for John Manley,Liberal. At the time I had serious doubts about the free trade issue, and the Liberals were very strongly opposed to it.We know what happened later of course, lol. They did the usual Liberal turnabout(wage and price controls,Joe Clark's hefty gas tax increase,GST etc). I will vote Tory again in this election although I am not completely satisfied with their record since coming to power, not by a long shot.In short, they spend too much money, they increased the size of the Public Service, and they haven't done enough to end the culture of waste and corruption within most levels of government. When I look at the only alternative, the Liberals,I cannot in good conscience vote for that party.Have the Conservatives done some unethical or corrupt things since coming to power?Yes they have. But these examples truly pale in comparison to things the Liberals have done in recent memory.
  8. How does the old Liberal saying go?"F**k the West,we'll take the rest!" Or was it "Screw" the West?No matter I guess.
  9. The Tories are indeed using the word "coalition" an awful lot.Perhaps it makes up for the fact that the Liberals will not, under any circumstances, use the word at all.Anyone that thinks there won't be a Liberal/NDP/Bloc coalition should the Tories get another minority government is naive. At least Socialist leader Jack Layton openly admits he will support a coalition.Just listen to Count Iggy or David McGuinty dance around when questioned about it.No Liberal will talk about it.Why not? How many times are the Liberals using the word "contempt"?When the Liberals said the long gun registry would cost but two million dollars but ended up costing over one billion and counting, was that contempt? When Jean Chretien stood up in Parliament and shrugged and said "A few million dollars may have been stolen....".Was that contempt? Was Adscam contempt for Canadians? How about Shawinigate?Ever read the nasty details of that affair? Was that contempt?
  10. Ahh Les Glorieux.Correct me if I'm wrong but did the majority of those cup wins come because of the provincial draft? That was when Montreal and Toronto each got the top two pics from Quebec and Ontario each year up until 1970?Imagine getting handed two top players year in and year out...and much of that era was a six team league.Surely it's no coincidence that these are the two teams with the most cup wins.Montreal certainly did a bit better than Toronto and benefitted from said pics until the late 70's.Since then they are no longer the dominant force they once were. With an enormous advantage like the provincial draft, how on earth could they NOT win?
  11. Aren't unions all about profits and greed too?
  12. Madmax was making fun of Tim Hudak and I have no problem with that.I merely asked what Dalton has done right during his time in office.Anyone is welcome to try and make up an answer to this question, including you Molly.
  13. I genuinely want to see the Egyptians get a real democratic government out of this, and one that will honour it's peace agreement with Israel, the regions only true democracy but one of the most despised nations on earth, especially by the left. The worst case scenario is if the Muslim Brotherhood ends up in power, then everyone loses.Simply put,the more Islamist the government, the worse off the Egyptians will be. Has Canada's relationship with Egypt changed from the time of Trudeau to Harper?Remember how Trudeau supported democracy in places like Cuba?
  14. I couldn't help but notice that you failed to answer my question.
  15. Not exactly a landslide victory as I recall.Face it,Quebecer's are,at best, fair weather Canadians. They only seem to be concerned with how much they can extract from English Canada. Oh and while we're on the topic of multiculturalism,we all know how strongly(and rightly)Quebecers feel about that.
  16. I'm confused... a national daycare program? We already have one don't we?Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't a national daycare program in the Liberal Red book way back in 1993?The Liberals put it in writing and had no less than three majority governments and we know the Liberals always keep their promises.
  17. Forgetting cheap beer for a moment, can any of you from the left name anything Dalton has done that benefits the people of Ontario? And I'm not talking about Ontario public servants including teachers,we know they have fared extremely well under the Liberals. The health tax...errrr I mean premium? The HST... another tax on EVERYTHING! Was it E-health? Was it the OLG scandal? Is it our ballooning deficit? The growing debt?(see above) What about segregated schools?(I just KNOW that makes lefties squirm inside, lol) Can it be the Liberal green energy policy?($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$,we pay,Samsung gets richer) Well....... what has Dalton done right?
  18. I hope somebody warned Al Gore to stay away from his multi million dollar ocean front property since sea levels are rapidly rising.....they are aren't they?
  19. Unfortunately, there are many Canadians who are very anti American.I think this feeling may come from a feeling of inferiority or perhaps jealousy. Most Canadians who feel this way are left leaning of course. There is an enormous amount of baggage that comes with being a superpower, something that Canada cannot experience.Damned if they do,damned if they don't.Right now,it seems there is less venom directed at the US from the Canadian media,no doubt because of America's first socialist leader. Say what you want about US governments, but the people are the nicest you will ever meet.
  20. If McGuinty does end up winning another term, who can honestly say he got it because he was doing a good job as Premier?Never mind the Conservatives or NDP for the moment, who among you is truly happy with his performance? Is Ontario in better shape because of his initiatives?
  21. Motor Trend giving the Volt a COTY award is sort of meaningless,as they don't factor in the predicted reliability. It could be very pricey to charge this car, especially here in Ontario where Dalton is planning huge hikes in electricity rates. If they could sell this car under $25000 that would be a breakthrough, but $40000 plus doesn't seem like good value for money.I can think of many more desirable cars that I would buy for 40 grand.
  22. I fail to see what all the fuss is about concerning this proposed new channel. To the best of my knowledge,it will be funded with private money and if there aren't enough viewers over time, the channel will cease to exist, unlike the CBC.Ahhh the CBC,funded entirely by tax dollars, has rock bottom ratings with the exception of Wheel of Fortune, and to top it off, they deny us the right to know how they spend our hard earned dollars. This is something you guys should be upset about.Especially the lame excused they come up with in their fight against releasing this information.
  23. Maybe this white supremacist should file a complaint with the Human Rights Commission. And I'm reasonably certain Mark Steyn does believe in free speech, but not hate speach.
  24. After looking at these numbers,I think poor old Keith deserves a break. OH the humanity!! http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/11/09/cable-news-ratings-for-monday-november-8-2010/71477
