  1. It's not Israeli's/Jews that are causing the problems. That would be the 'Palestinians' and their supporters who routinely call for violence against Jews.
  2. No power? Nerdeen Kiswani (Arabic: نردين كسواني[1]) is a Palestinian-American activist and organizer. She is a co-founder and chair of Within Our Lifetime, a pro-Palestine activist group in New York City. During the Gaza War, Kiswani has led or spoken at numerous protests in New York City, including the Columbia University student encampment and protests against the detention of Mahmoud Khalil. Considered an influential activist, she has been credited with inspiring Gaza War protests in the US, including student protests. As a student at the City University of New York (CUNY), she was also involved in pro-Palestine activism as president of the school's Students for Justice in Palestine chapter. It's fair to assume you're a progressive so I wonder how you'll react when influential Muslims take a firm stand against some of your values. Try forcing your radical gender ideology in the Muslim communities and see what happens.
  3. The first sentence in her post should be a massive red flag to New Yorkers, but they'll probably just keep voting for the same nutjobs anyway.
  4. Another shooting in Pawtucket at a youth hockey game and there are early reports that the shooter is also trans. The shooter has been identified as Robert Dorgan...who also went by 'Roberta'. https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/shooting-pawtucket-rhode-island-hockey-rink/ At this early stage, it seems the trans angle is being downplayed yet again by the media.
  5. Key Factors Behind Higher Contributions Natural Resource Wealth: Alberta has abundant oil and gas reserves, which contribute significantly to its GDP. This wealth translates into higher provincial revenues compared to other provinces. Economic Performance: Alberta's economy is among the strongest in Canada, boasting high income levels and employment rates. This economic success leads to increased tax revenues, making it a net contributor to the equalization payments. Taxation Structure: Alberta has relatively lower tax rates for individuals and corporations compared to other provinces. While this attracts businesses and residents, it also means a higher contribution to federal revenues. Population Size: With a relatively smaller population, Alberta's per capita contributions can appear larger. Even though it is a net contributor federally, this smaller population means higher contributions per person. GPT-4o mini Comparison of Equalization Contributions Between Alberta and Quebec If tax rates are equal, a person in Alberta generally ends up paying more in equalization contributions than a person in Quebec. This disparity arises from several factors tied to economic performance and fiscal capacity. Someone earing $100k in Alberta and someone in Quebec earning $100k, the person in Quebec benefits more because much of that money flows one way, into Quebec.
  6. Nerdeen Kiswani, 'Palestinian' ACTIVIST. So we know she is a sh*t disturber and probably rather influential in NYC. They already have Muslim calls to prayer over loudspeakers in NY, so perhaps she'll eventually get her way with dogs too.
  7. Through federal taxes yes. Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan are typically the provinces that contribute the most to the Equalization program. These provinces have higher fiscal capacities, which allows them to generate more revenue compared to others. At the end of the day, people in these provinces carry most of the load for equalization. It's a messed up system in that a province like Quebec, which should be a net contributor, is always the biggest recipient.
  8. I was trying to make the point that Alberta(the most screwed over province by far) is the highest per capita contributor to equalization despite the disparity in GDP size.
  9. Alberta vs. Ontario in Equalization Payments Current Status Key Points Alberta: Alberta has not received equalization payments since the 1960s due to its high fiscal capacity, primarily from oil and gas revenues. The province contributes significantly to federal revenues, making up about 16% of the total, despite not receiving any equalization funds. Ontario: Ontario has received minimal equalization payments in recent years, reflecting its stronger ability to generate tax revenues compared to other provinces. The province's fiscal capacity is above average, which limits its eligibility for equalization payments. Conclusion Alberta and Ontario have different experiences with equalization payments. Alberta, as a "have" province, does not receive payments due to its high fiscal capacity, while Ontario, although a significant contributor to federal revenues, has also seen limited equalization support due to its relatively strong economic position. Province Equalization Payments Received Fiscal Capacity Contribution to Federal Revenue Alberta $0 (no payments since 1960s) Highest in Canada Approximately 16% of federal revenue Ontario Minimal (recently below average) Above average Significant contributor, but lower than Alberta
  10. If Carney does go to the polls, we on the conservative side must brace ourselves for a Liberal majority, or a strong minority again at the very least. Years more of the same failed policies lie ahead. I guess this is what Canada gets when so many voters are ONLY concerned about hating Trump and Poilievre. They hate Poilievre because he 'whines' too much, but they always fail to point out what's wrong with any of his policy proposals.
  11. Justin Trudeau has indeed made comments about Canada's national identity that sparked considerable debate. In a 2016 interview with The New York Times, he stated that "there is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada," referring to Canada as the "first post-national state." https://torontosun.com/2016/09/14/trudeau-says-canada-has-no-core-identity An ad campaign from the state broadcaster, for example, featured the slogan “It’s not how Canadian you are, it’s who you are in Canada.” The results of this experiment have not been harmony but gunfire, arson, and interethnic violence. Cosmopolitan obsessions and social media make it impossible to ignore the passions of distant conflicts. Fueled by the fever of the Israel–Hamas war, antisemitic insurgents have set upon Canada’s long-established Jewish community, setting fire to synagogues, firing upon Jewish schools, parading through their communities, and throwing up Nazi salutes. Meanwhile, Hindu temples have been attacked by radicals who call for the creation of Khalistan, a Sikh breakaway state in India. https://modernagejournal.com/canadas-national-identity-crisis/246587/ Multiculturalism means Canada will be a whole lot of everything, but not much of anything. A huge country divided by ethnic enclaves.
  12. The things you listed aren't exactly 'fringe'. Over half a billion people world-wide trade in crypto. I assume you're referring to the Freedom Convoy, and that wasn't fringe, it was in the name, freedom. As for the anti-vax angle, people do have the right to be skeptical and concerned about the vax. The powers that be did lie to the public about efficacy and potential side effects. Given the topic of this thread, why don't you compare the Conservative and Liberal policies with regards to gender ideology? One side has a fringe view, and it isn't the Conservatives.
  13. I wonder if it's too late already. Toronto's top baby names in 2024: Muhammad and Emma https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/muhammad-baby-boy-names-toronto-emma-olivia
  14. All the text posted above the link are quotes from the article itself. But I do agree with his premise.
  15. Canada has a pattern of running to China to remedy trade woes, and every time it fails miserably. Ottawa still hasn't learned its lesson “An economic slump in the U.S. was going to affect Canada’s financial health, and so trade diversification again became a driving consideration. But instead of diversifying trade with like-minded democracies, Canada went begging at the doorstep of the Communist state that had been engaged in foreign interference and espionage against Canada and the U.S. for the past 30 years.” How well has trade diversification with the PRC worked out? What should be glaringly apparent is that for nearly 30 years, China has repeatedly targeted Canadian canola. Diversification was required in that sector, away from dependence on the PRC. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/dennis-molinaro-diversifying-trade-with-china-is-a-losing-play How many Prime Ministers have fallen into the same trap with China, thinking that the CCP is going to play fair with Canada?
  16. So this poll about Trump vs Biden is relevant...while you dismiss out of hand, the poll that shows a clear majority of Americans support voter ID?
  17. It is literally his job to hold the government to account. Would you characterize the Liberal leaders in the same way when they were the official opposition?
  18. https://www.timesnownews.com/world/us/us-news/who-is-jose-joe-ceballos-coldwater-kansas-mayor-charged-for-being-noncitizen-and-voting-illegally-article-153113025 Kansas officials have charged Jose “Joe” Ceballos, mayor of Coldwater, for allegedly voting in multiple elections despite being a noncitizen.
  19. By that statement you're saying that he typically acts abnormally? In what way is Poilievre's behavior abnormal?
