  1. I think he's just biding his time.He should be favoured to win a second term regardless of how well the country is doing four years from now.If or when he starts his second term,I think that's when he'll show his true colours. He'll likely start pushing hard for big labour and gay marriage, and other issues that are important to the left.
  2. I would like to set the record straight. The government, and NOT the people of Ontario, get's all of the profits to squander as they see fit. Privatization seems to have worked in Alberta from what I read, but the unions would never allow it in Ontario. What the LCBO employees do is not rocket science, but they are paid quite well and get great benefits that private sector employees have to foot the bill for.
  3. You do have a point I must admit. It's scary to imagine what North Korea would be like if China didn't keep them "sort of under control".Could they be any worse than they are now?
  4. Seems to me like Obama supporters feel that ANY criticism of him in any way, shape or form is completely unacceptable and you call them fascist. What exactly is it about Obama that should make him exempt from any criticism?
  5. I am guilty of not being specific enough.I refer of course to Hamas,Hezbollah etc and not those Palestinians who genuinely desire peace.
  6. NEWS FLASH!PALESTINIANS OFFER PEACE PLAN! (We will exterminate all Israelis and wipe Jews off the face of the earth.Then....we offer peace)
  7. Too bad you can't or won't hold the Liberals to the same standards that you apply to the Conservatives.Dalton has certainly had his fair share of scandals in his time. Can you name more than one?
  8. http://www.dangardner.ca/Coloct0308.html Bet you won't read this....
  9. I can be considered a Conservative supporter by most standards. But I do not support everything they do and stand for. They deserve criticism for handing over most of the Canada Day money to one province,in which most of the residents have little loyalty to Canada. Back when the Liberals were in power, did they also give the lion's share to Quebec?
  10. Your comment are rather foolish to say the least. The truth is,in Canada,ALL parties are pretty left wing. They differ mainly in the area of spending, some always want more, some want to spend within our means. By all means let unelected, mainly left leaning judges have the final say on all matters. And the Liberals and NDP let the Conservatives make the unpopular, but correct decisions and at the end of the day,the Liberals reap the rewards.Remember the GST?How about free trade?Drastically raising immigration levels is another example.
  11. I seem to remember a column by Michael Harris a few years ago in which he stated something like 70% of inmates who applied for the faint hope clause got parole.Sounds more like the "sure thing clause".
  12. Sounds like you really miss the days of "Honest Jean" Chretien. "I never said I would get rid of the GST,I never said that!"(The mother of all lies?) "A few million dollars may have been stolen after the referendum."(A capacity for understatement?) "I never called the head of the BDC!"(Can you say LIAR?) Yeah those were the days.
  13. I seem to recall the Libs and NDP screaming for massive stimulus spending, just like their hero Obama is doing. Now we have people complaining about a deficit.Let me get this straight,is a deficit acceptable depending on whether or not the leader is a charismatic left winger?Did anyone from the left complain about deficits under former Socialist Prime Minister Trudeau?
  14. Does the c in your nickname stand for Communist?
  15. More left wing nonsense I'm afraid. The Left and Conservatives differ in how to alleviate poverty.Put simply, the Left believes in hand outs and the Conservatives believe in giving a hand up. Given the fact that the Liberals have governed Canada for significantly more time than Conservatives, don't you think they should get some of the blame for poverty in this country in the first place? The fact is,we do have a "poverty industry"in this country. It seems they want to continue the cycle of "poverty"for their own benefit.Whether we care to admit it or not, there is quite a lot of abuse in government efforts to help poverty.Welfare fraud, people with good jobs living in subsidized housing, you name it.Like any fair minded citizen,I have no problem with my tax dollars going to help those TRULY in need, but I get angry when much of this money get's wasted. There is a distinction between those honestly trying to better themselves and those merely content to get a free ride.
  16. Wow!In one, short sentence you have admitted something that is a core belief of left wingers everywhere!I appreciate your honesty,if nothing else.
  17. Didn't Obama quadruple the debt since he took office? As for the Liberals doing better than the Conservatives as far as balancing budgets, there is more to the story.Consider a few things like the GST and free trade, both Conservative initiatives. And your beloved Liberals fought tooth and nail against both while in opposition.Once they were in power and realized just how much money was flowing into government coffers because of these Conservative policies, they got all of the credit for supposedly turning the finances around.I almost forgot to mention that it was your Liberals that also DRASTICALLY cut transfer payments to the provinces(health care spending!!)that enabled them to rake in huge amounts of money to squander. One more thing,a budget surplus and a balanced budget are not exactly the same thing. I can't wait for your unbelievable, distorted response.....
  18. We can't build a wall to keep out the terrorists because the powerful immigration lobby would be up in arms.I think Canada is past the point of no return as far as fixing our open door immigration system is concerned.Besides, many Canadians want terrorists to come to Canada, like Omar Khadr.
  19. I wonder what kind of theme was behind this so called "theatre".Were there plays and literature promoting violence toward Israel?
  20. I coudn't agree more with you.The problem I have is with those people that go most of their working lives only working the bare minimum with the goal of living off UI most of the time.Something has to change.
  21. So you decide to imply that anyone conservative is surely racist.Nice.Did it ever occur to you to ask why your asian friends were kept out(assuming your little story is not fiction)?Hell, they can go to the Alberta Human Rights Commission and launch a costly complaint entirely at taxpayer expense and surely come out with a very nice pile of money. On second thought, you likely made the whole thing up.
  22. Ok you had me going for a while there. But it's obvious you are posting comments like this just to get laughs.Everything you have written is kind of funny but can't you come up with something more original than these tired, old and ultimately childish insults that are repeated endlessly by the left wing zealots?
  23. Clinton certainly has a silver tongue just like Obama, and I believe he didn't have to rely on the teleprompter as much.A silver tongue and charisma,a winning combination for a left-wing politician.I wonder how many woman Clinton will have lined up for this visit?
  24. Sooooooooo you mean that but for a "different approach",something like WW2 could have/would have been completely avoided? All they had to do was use nothing more than diplomacy against Hitler? And then he would love everyone? Thanks for opening up my eyes Waldo.
  25. Since torture is a fact of life in most if not all Muslim countries, why can't you ask the same question of Muslims?Does one seem to be the lesser of two evils? Have a nice weekend comrade dub.
