  1. India has announced it plans to be carbon neutral by 2070. They are the world's third largest emitter. The Indian prime minister made it clear that he expects developed countries to pay for some or most of it. Ballsy. I'm sure Justin Trudeau is eager to promise to make Canadians foot the bill for nuclear armed India and the rest, China included.
  2. My question to my MP and his answer: Mr.Trudeau's recent announcement at the COP26 summit is yet another nail in the coffin of the Canadian oil and gas industry. If Mr.Trudeau thinks for one second that China( the world's largest emitter )is going to follow Canada's lead he is truly dreaming. Once the Canadian oil and gas industry is dead will all the lost revenue be replaced from massive price increases in the cost of electricity? Will there be a fundamental change in Canada's equalization formula in the future seeing as how Ontario and the Western provinces have had to heavily subsidize Quebec and the Atlantic provinces? Thank you His response: Thanks for sharing your concerns. We know that we can’t ignore the climate crisis. Just in our region record high floods and even tornadoes have caused incredible damage and have left many in our community without homes. Despite this, we also know that we can’t rush the transition to a green economy because thousands of Canadians depend on the oil and gas industry to make a living. That’s why the government will set 5-year targets, and will also ensure that the sector makes a meaningful contribution to meeting Canada’s 2030 climate goals. The government is also seeking the advice of the Net-Zero Advisory Body on how best to move forward on this approach. Canada is leading the way toward a clean energy future by finding real solutions that the world is seeking. Together with Canadians, global partners, and industry, the government will continue to tackle the climate crisis so we can create new middle-class jobs and build a better, cleaner future for everyone. As for equalization, it is drawn from federal, not provincial tax revenues. It is money Ottawa has collected from across the country — including Quebec and Atlantic taxpayers. This money is handed out by the federal government to ensure provinces with smaller economies are able to offer the same level of services as those with access to more tax revenues. Thanks again for reaching out. My thoughts: I give him credit for replying but as expected it's pretty vague and he ignored my question about electricity prices. But words like these greatly appeal to progressives so they don't have to contain specifics. No actual mention of what will replace oil and gas. One would think that if you have the answer you would be shouting it from the rooftops. (A Liberal MP)
  3. It's a real pity that Canada's oil and gas sector doesn't have a much larger presence in Quebec and then this foolish announcement would have never seen the light of day. Yet another big FU to western provinces.
  4. I wish I did have the answer to that question. I try and do my small part in conserving energy in that I keep my high efficiency furnace turned low most of the winter. I drive a compact car and have spent many thousands of dollars in upgrades to my home in order to use less energy. On a global scale China is the biggest contributor to emissions . They are building coal fired plants at an astonishing rate but are not held to the same standards as the democratic developed nations. There seem to be plenty of untapped oil reserves worldwide but who knows what the demand will be like in the future? My concern is the rush to end the use of oil and gas too soon without a reliable alternative. There will be major issues with electric cars as well because when or if electric becomes mainstream the environmentalists will of course have a new target to shoot for. I also think it's foolish to let dictatorships like Saudi Arabia and Russia control the oil and gas market.
  5. I agree with you. I also would like to see more nuclear power in Canada but it seems unlikely given the amount of influence of radical environmentalist groups.
  6. I would like to see the world population growth stabilize but since the woke left discovered that men can now give birth the numbers are really going to skyrocket. The above subjects you mentioned are indeed important but at the end of the day it matters who is doing the teaching. Woke math and woke biology are not the same as regular math or biology.
  7. We have had this discussion before and it was established that you, like the rest of us do enjoy and use modern devices made thanks to resource extraction and manufacturing. You have probably ridden in cars, buses, planes, trains etc that are powered by oil and gas energy. You likely are surrounded by objects that are again made thanks to resource extraction and the manufacturing process. You will not give up any of this while you castigate others for making use of these modern conveniences. If you want to walk the walk and live in a bloody cave nothing is stopping you. What are you using right now to communicate on here? Laptop? PC? Iphone? You do have access to electricity don't you?
  8. The cost of oil and gas has gone up dramatically which in turn drives up the cost of all the goods transported by the use of oil and gas. (Thanks to radical environmentalists, most of whom apparently have never had a real job.) At one time Canada actually had a healthy oil and gas industry. How great it would be if we had a Prime Minister that would put real effort into more exploration and the means to getting this valuable resource to market? Not gonna happen. It would also help if our idiot Prime Minister started to actually think about monetary policy for the first time in his life.

  10. I didn't recall Baldwin's accusations against Cheney years ago with respect to that shooting incident. Now it seems that those accusations are being glossed over. Alec Baldwin's Name Removed From Article Calling Dick Cheney Terrorist for Shooting Accident After Baldwin Shoots, Kills Woman on Set - The Dissenter (disntr.com)
  11. On the surface it seems like that cop was justified in that shooting so perhaps wrongfully should be replaced by justified. Nobody should get any satisfaction from Baldwin's situation either. A life was lost and that's tragic.
  12. I recall a funny but pretty accurate comment on Merkel by Alex Jones. He said something to the effect that Merkel was "like a reverse Hitler" in that she invited outsiders to invade Germany. Same thing happening here, more foolish policies from the lefties.
  13. m) I think most media outlets are pretty left leaning but they don't admit it. LILLEY: Let's talk about CBC and their very obvious bias | Toronto Sun Seems to me that any stories that are harmful to the Liberals don't last very long in the news cycle. Debate moderator Rosemary Barton looks pretty pleased to get a selfie with HRH Justin Trudeau. A federal judge confirmed the CBC is a sham, by Candace Malcolm - Puget Sound Radio And some stories, as I mentioned before, the CBC has little choice but to cover but not for too long if it goes against the Liberal narrative. Apart from Rex Murphy ,formerly of the CBC, how many others in the CBC today can you name that would be of the conservative mindset?
  14. Even the CBC sometimes has to report on stories that don't help their friends in the Liberal party. I am certain that when they do report on it they do it with great reluctance.
  15. Here's a new story about a recent school shooting. Pretty serious one would think but he got released pretty quickly.
  16. More transgender insanity, this from the UK. Women prisoners who misgender transgender inmates may face punishment: UK justice minister | The Post Millennial
  17. You do have some kind of electronic device made with rare earth minerals on the inside and it's wrapped in plastic which comes from the petroleum industry. A lot of BC's electricity comes from hydroelectric but I suppose you are opposed to that because it does have some impact on the environment. What other things do you want modern society to give up?
  18. Morons? Clearly you're having a difficult time making your point without resorting to insults. I still think FOX is head and shoulders above CNN and the rest. FOX has some less than stellar personalities(Cavuto, Chris Wallace) but most of their shows are pretty well done. As I have pointed out before, they do have Democratic contributors as well. CNN is probably the worst of the worst overall.
  19. When it comes to nuclear power, I am ALL IN! Unfortunately, the radical environmentalists that apparently seem to hold way too much influence in this country will not allow more nuclear energy. I still firmly want to have a strong oil and gas industry in this country because we need it.
  20. So you want to keep Alberta oil in the ground? I'm curious how you feel about the oil that Canada imports from places like Saudi Arabia. You don't like Canadian oil but do you also want a total ban on all foreign oil imports as well? If so, please explain what daily life will be like without oil. I like heat in the winter, how about you? What replaces the energy from oil and gas? I see that one of your interests is "fighting economic growth" so I can't wait to hear your answer. (I hope you're not going to suggest we live as the Indians once did, teepees and wigwams!)?
  21. I've never heard of this site before. You apparently don't think much of it so are you saying the story is false and that these files were not deleted?
  22. I think around half of americans have lost their minds. How has it ever come to this? I think one major reason is the level of hard left indoctrination in universities and colleges by ultra-radical tenured professors. I watch the videos from Campus Reform on Youtube and I can't believe just how dim and uninformed so many of these students are. These kids are getting fed crazy ideas at an even earlier age now. Critical thinking is in short supply.
  23. It's not a stretch to say FOX has a conservative slant but I find they simply report the news more fairly. And for you to not mention how utterly dismal CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the MSM are is astonishing. Brian Stelter of CNN is sadly typical of how the MSM carry water for the Democrats. Maybe it's why their ratings are lower than FOX?
  24. There was no whipping of illegals by by the border patrol agents on horseback but CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the usual suspects were promoting a falsehood in order to promote their slanted narrative and of course to jazz up the ratings. FOX covered this story truthfully. I am pleased that you are against governments and corporations censoring content or to be more specific, the current practice of censoring conservatives.
  25. I watched that same segment on Tucker's show last night. This is apparently another idiotic legal decision by progressives. This is Joe Biden's America now. Human life seems to have very little value in some Democratic states. The political left has gone mad.
