Trump Nominated fr Nobel Peace Prize
ironstone replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I heard this story this morning and at that time, apparently no mention of it on CNN but it did appear on CNN online. I think he's certainly a worthy nominee. I'm guessing he doesn't have much chance at winning because of backroom politics. -
Any thoughts as to why the media sat on this story for around two years? Why didn't they publish this story right after it happened? Were they saving it in the hopes of dropping a bombshell during the next election? It's no wonder most people have a low opinion of journalists.

Trump certainly has flaws just like any other candidate but can anyone honestly deny that Trump is way more accessible to the press than Biden is? He clearly get's more openly hostile questions than Biden does. Biden's events are so tightly controlled, feeding people easy questions. Biden's handlers should make him more accessible , or are they afraid of that?

Federal government creating inventory of racial minorities.
ironstone replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How is a hiring policy based on race, where white's are effectively excluded, not in itself a racist policy? How can any fair minded person argue against hiring policies that are completely based on merit? Does racism exist in Canada? Yes there is racism here but I would argue that on the whole Canada is not a racist country. The argument that Western society, North American and in Europe are racist kind of falls apart by the undeniable fact that so many people "of colour" are wanting to come and live in our society. However, we are not a colour-blind country if we keep up with these idiotic politically correct policies. Ensure equal opportunity, not equal outcome. How many prominent white politicians who endorse these hiring practices would willingly give up their own position to be filled by a visible minority? -
But doesn't Nancy Pelosi's hair look wonderful?

It's certainly taken Biden long enough to condemn the violence although it sounded half hearted. As far as I'm aware, Biden hasn't mentioned Antifa or BLM who do play a role in the rioting.Kamala Harris doesn't seem concerned by the left wing violence at all. https://townhall.com/columnists/benshapiro/2020/09/02/why-wont-biden-condemn-antifa-or-blm-violence-n2575494 Here's an interesting link about an Antifa member. https://ussanews.com/News1/2020/09/02/police-antifa-member-curled-into-a-fetal-position-and-cried-when-they-arrested-him-with-a-flamethrower/ A flamethrower! Jerry Nadler, this is no myth. A quick check on CNN.com doesn't show anything about the Antifa member with the flamethrower when I typed Antifa in the search engine, mostly negative articles about Trump.

Antifa and their kind are largely responsible for the violence in these DEMOCRATIC run cities. I haven't heard any condemnation from the Democratic convention about all the looting and burning done by these radical crackpots that make up the ranks of Antifa. Nobody is against peaceful protests, it's a right. But it's gone way too far without penalties for those responsible.

Explain stick and ball sports to me
ironstone replied to cannuck's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Grossly overpaid professional athletes have the right to use their elevated positions to voice their opinions, right or wrong. I am exercising my right to tune out the world of professional sports. I learned that I'm not missing anything special. Baseball is a sport where it's possible to play an entire game and not break a sweat(like golf). NBA,NHL,NFL,no thanks, don't care anymore or was never interested to begin with. How about the hypocrisy of one Lebron James? He cries about the treatment of blacks in the US but willfully ignores what China is doing in Hong Kong. Money from the growing NBA/Chinese market and Lebron's greed overshadows the rights of the Chinese people. There are so many better things to do with our spare time than watch over-rated and over-hyped professional sports. -
I agree that these violent nutjobs are the modern day version of the Brownshirts. It should also be a giant red flag that Democrats are overwhelmingly not condemning Antifa/rioting,looting etc. That speaks volumes about the heart and soul of the current Democratic party. MSNBC,CNN and their kind are alternatively lapdogs for the Democrats and attack dogs towards the Republicans. The goal of the media should be only to tell the truth, not to push their own narrative. I'm currently reading The Liberal Media Industrial Complex by Mark Dice. Very good so far.

I'm not against taxes, I'm against excessive levels of taxation. Spending shouldn't outstrip revenue year after year after year. We keep piling up more debt and of course we have to keep paying ever increasing interest on that debt. And we are only paying the interest and not decreasing that debt itself. Nobody can tell me that there isn't a huge amount of wasteful spending by this current government. Too much kicking the fiscal can down the road and letting future generations pay for it.
-
Massive deficits and debt in this country are almost entirely about decades of reckless and chronic overspending. Yes, both of Canada's two mainstream parties are guilty of this behavior. Justin Trudeau deserves consideration as perhaps the most reckless/foolish spendthift in our history. As to the Morneau resignation,it seems even this big spender was cowed into submission by idiot Trudeau/Butts. Who knew that all this business with the shady WE charity was a matter of national security? So many redactions...

So how do you fire a governor general?
ironstone replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The more I read about Julie Payette, the harder it is to believe they chose her in the first place. She seems totally unsuited for this job and obviously little or no vetting was done by the Trudeau Liberals. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/governor-generals-scorn-for-rcmp-driving-up-unnecessary-costs-sources-say/ar-BB184wbU?li=AAggNb9 -
According to the link, it looks like MP's from all major parties took trips paid for by foreign governments. But because it's a link from the CBC, I couldn't help but notice that the author puts Polievre's name out front and centre. Well,it is a CBC link isn't it? I'm not sure if every MP that takes these trips posts this information on his or her website for the sake of transparency. Since all parties engage in this sort of thing, they clearly want to be able to keep doing it. It's why they have put in a specific exemption for sponsored travel in their ethics code. Perhaps the most flagrant example of this kind of junket would be Trudeau's vacation to the Aga-Khan's private island?

This guy has more views on this video than CNN! Now at least 4.2 million people know just how out of touch with reality Nadler is.
-
They look like meth-heads to me. They talk about de-radicalizing the Islamist terrorists, I wonder if there is any hope for people like these? Or has their brainwashing gone too far already? Thank you ,college professors,CNN,MSNBC,Democratics etc. How pathetic it is that many are very upset merely because these mugshots were publicly posted and apparently not concerned about the violence and damage inflicted by them?
-
How many of you on here that fall into the "progressive" camp would be happy if your neighborhood, home or business got burned to the ground by these ultra-violent radicals? Would you enjoy losing your sight thanks to laser pointers being used as weapons? How does it make sense for these crackpots to burn down and destroy in their own neighborhoods ? Is the goal to simply win by fear and excessive use of violence?

https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/warmington-kielburgers-prove-you-cant-get-blood-from-a-stone Surely you have heard some stories about financial irregularities concerning the WE charity recently? https://www.canadalandshow.com/we-charity-was-in-financial-trouble-before-covid-says-charity-watchdog/ https://www.canadalandshow.com/we-charity-usa-spent-money-on-kielburger-friend-republican-strategists/

As much as I hate to admit it, it's not a stretch to say that Justin Trudeau could be Prime Minister for a very long time or at least until he get's bored of the job. Perhaps at some point in the distant future, he may gain the PM qualities that Canadians deserve.

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/highly-unethical-someone-paid-nearly-200-people-to-promote-positive-we-charity-stories-on-google/ar-BB17mNa4?li=AAggNb9 Everyone has to admit that the Keilburger brothers are pretty slick no matter what side you're on. These guys have also clearly picked up some bad acting skills somewhere along the way. I wonder who they learned that from?

It is hard to believe this idiot is still pretty high in the polls now but hopefully things will change when the only real opposition party selects their new leader. It is a fact,Liberal supporters are extremely tolerant of wrongdoing when it's on their side. Hypocrites. I've seen different figures, but Brian Lilley writes that Margaret Trudeau got closer to $500,000 from WE when travel expenses are included. That's an awfully large percentage of the money handed over to WE finding it's way back into the steadily growing Trudeau family fortune. https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/lilley-kielburgers-defend-but-dont-always-answer-in-we-scandal

Margaret Trudeau ,net worth $10 million US as of 2016. Justin Trudeau net worth is also $10 million net worth as of 2017. Sacha Trudeau net worth is estimated between $1-$5 million US. I know she married into money and of course Justin was born into money and financially set for life the day he was born. Doesn't this whole thing just reek to high heaven when these virtue signaling multi millionaires still see fit to charge charities hefty fees for their services? And to me,"for their services" is clearly not for the public speaking. We all know it's payback to get access to those enormous government handouts to WE. I have serious doubts about the business practices of WE and I wish it was getting more scrutiny .

The stories coming out about the WE charity keep getting more interesting. https://www.canadalandshow.com/we-charity-was-in-financial-trouble-before-covid-says-charity-watchdog/ Others have discussed how awful Trudeau is and I completely agree. Leslyn Lewis name has also come up and she seems to show a lot of potential. https://www.leslynlewis.ca/policies Quite a nice contrast with the Libranos in my opinion.
-
It's a matter of opinion. I am not thrilled with any of the current Conservative leadership candidates but I would hazard a guess that any of them would be quite an improvement over Justin Trudeau.I will admit that the Conservative Party is Liberal lite though. For myself, voting NDP is never going to happen. I like Maxime Bernier too so supporting his PPC is another option.
-
There are alternatives. I always tell my friends that as far as elections go,just pick the best of the worst in a sense.Trudeau will never do the right thing and step down simply because of his latest breach of ethics. Why not contact your MP and let him or her know how you feel? Chrystia Freeland isn't the answer either, all hype and little substance. So much for openness ,transparency and accountability right?
