Wynne says Hydro rates an "Urgent" Issue
Bob Macadoo replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
He also leased Bruce site to a private entity then allowed them to sell/market the power to huge returns.....then Eves trying to get re-elected regulated them but still failed. -
Cultural accommodation where child marriage is the issue
Bob Macadoo replied to a topic in Sex and Gender Issues
Maybe it's naivete but where in article did it say sex was involved? Arranged marriages are as old as time. -
Hmmmm seems there was a one-time payment of 90k $ to a Tory PMO staffer for moving. We should go find them and shame them into repaying.

Donald vs Hillary

I wonder what the RNC has on him? Anthony Weiner level dick pics, sex tape in airport washroom.......or just keeping the closet door closed? -
Its like anything else...what compensation packages are available to executives? Talent retention....blah blah blah.

Well it may fizzle out (or not) but the PC grassroots are already upset with Brown. Populism made him abandon sex curriculum....does he lose a traditional immigrant vote he had for every vote anti-wynne vote he gains? -

I am by no means defending this party....I'm just stating the energy portfolio isn't the reason to toss them. -

Jurisdictions like Manitoba, Quebec (Hydro) or some Appalachian state (subsidized coal)? Its rising fast because the infrastructure was underfunded to suppress "the cost".....trying to catch up now. Solar/Wind contracts have little to do with the dramatic rise in "the cost". -

What else were they going to do? You were either going to pay directly or you were going to socialize the cost. The cost is the cost. Same as auto insurance. You want to pay less you get less. -

These programs have been around for a decade; at some point you turn the tap off and move on. -
Hillary Clinton and her health problems.
Bob Macadoo replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
.....why not submit an amendment.....>35 and <60 ? Old people can get sick and it affects them differently than the middle aged and that of the young. She walked out of her daughter's rez that afternoon, awake and posing for selfies. Do you all not think; pneumonia +warm morning +heavy fall jacket +9/11 emotion = weak kneed Hillary. Wait I got it.....that was a double that came out of Chelsea's.....like "Paul is Dead"......she's been replaced by a Hillary look-a-like from Vancouver! Breitbart....hold the presses. -

It doesn't increase twice every year.....it did this year as the final cost estimates came in on grid upgrades & reactor refurbs.....too late for the routine rate review. In actual fact the OEB tries to restrict rates upon items they have no jurisdiction (ie. federal). -

What will abate the price besides artificial caps, which kneecaps investment? Is water falling going to get cheaper? -
.....as long as things don't get out of control.

Canadian judges are often incompetent
Bob Macadoo replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No it's like having the heart surgeon working the ER in triage. He knows all the parts (eg. procedures, rules of order, etc.) and can stop the bleeding so he can review your vitals (eg. read the testimony and case law) so he can develop the proper treatment. The problem here is the goof inserted his opinion/bias (eg. You need to quit smoking) before reviewing your vitals. -

I'm not hiding under my bed about the PCs, I just want to know. It looks like Brown is going to be whatever you want him to be. Hudak tried to pretzel himself and got stuck.....let's see what he does.I think the subsidies/Oakville are Liberal recovery strategies, other than that, they've been implementing their stated policies. HydrozOne isn't an etch-a-sketch energy policy its an etch-a-sketch infrastructure funding (ie. can't raise taxes) policy. -

See that's where I think you're wrong. If the PCs were re-elected and continued on with the march to privatization we would've been in a much worse situation. That didn't happen though and we are here. Now Wynne wants to take us to that brink (Hydro-One) again and it is time to halt this train. Problem is we don't know what Brown's policy on this is. We do know he'll dump his christian platitudes at the first sign of trouble......if he "etch-a-sketch's" his power policy.....then what? That leaves us with Horvath who is clear on policy although unrealistic. -

There is no one helping us out of this mess. This is what power costs. Upgrades cost money, fuel costs money, salaries cost money.......and yes f*ck-ups cost money. There is nothing the PCs are going to do to "fix" this, unless they seek to resubsidize it. I kinda doubt that.If you wish to vote out Wynne for the f*ck-ups (RE; Oakville) I agree......just don't expect better (RE; Harris "leasing" Bruce OR Rae halting Darlington construction) -

What does Patrick Brown have to say about this? Do you all believe if we stopped all future wind/solar development your bill is going down? You're rate is also paying for the refurbishment of Darlington, the expansion of Adam Beck, the construction at Mattagami, the upgrades to Cherrywood Switching. Know what happens when you artificially suppress your power charges? See Toronto Hydro trying to keep the lights on down in Condo slumland because their yards are incapable of handling the load. Privatize T-H you say? I bet that'll get that needed investment.
