  1. Politicians have 100% control over the economy. Everyone knows this.
  2. I'm 100% sure Lake Winnipeg isn't a human being and therefore shouldn't have the rights of one. But we do a terrible job with keeping our waters clean and healthy so agree on that point.
  3. You're right. Canada gushes over the Avro Arrow and the Canada Arm. The US creates technology like this every single day it seems and we're patting ourselves on the back about a few pieces of tech from several decades ago. How embarrassing. But alas, even if we invented a bunch of new tech we'd just let the Chinese steal it all.
  4. Every young Canadian should go out and get a B.A. in history or philosophy or some other extremely economically useful degree. This will jumpstart the economy like in decades past.
  5. I wish PP wasn't such a rightwing ideologue, especially when it comes to economics and climate change. He also hangs out with too many chuds (sorry chuds).
  6. The NDP are polling to get 1 seat in Quebec in the next election as of now according to the 338 website. CPC = 13 and BQ = 40. The Bloc are going to get about 10 Liberal seats in QC it looks like and the CPC around 3. The CPC recently won a by-election in a longtime Toronto Liberal stronghold. The NDP are projected to lose almost half their seats next election. Only the BQ and CPC are projected to gain seats. Either way the CPC are going to win and very likely a majority.
  7. Some of the GOP like Pence I think have have genuine intentions. Others like the Bush's, Zoellick and Liz Cheney etc are just establishment loyalists who are still chapped that they lost their power & influence in the party under Trump. Trump is piece of crap but seriously who would care what some former Dubya Bush official thinks? Not like they have some moral highground. Imagine the crying from the Obama/Clinton/Biden-connected Democrats if Bernie Sanders won the Democrat nomination.
  8. Why wouldn't the membership support be the only factor? The union is made by the members. The politics of its leadership is irrelevant. I don't know why unions sometimes go against the wishes of their general membership.
  9. Foreign international students are typically also given work permits to work in Canada while they study.
  10. NDP seems to be trying to create a wedge issue with the Liberals here and try to nab official opposition status next election maybe. This helps the CPC in their "axe the tax" mantra but i guess the NDP don't see themselves as in the running to take over their wide lead.
  11. Tell us how much of an impact the carbon tax in Canada has on global climate charge? I wager it's negligible. Forest fires in Canada made worse by climate change are going to happen with or without a carbon tax in this country. Whether it exists here or not is meaningless. The big polluters like the US and China aren't on board with a carbon tax so its just virtue signaling at this point. Instead of just taking it off our income taxes the Liberals send us a cheque for the carbon rebate to try to buy our votes. They even got mad at the banks for not telling us what the payments were for when added to our accounts. The Liberals are excellent at seeming to do something while actually doing nothing. They have no substance.
  12. This has nothing to do with international rankings.
  13. We don't have national healthcare plans because healthcare is a provincial jurisdiction constitutionally. We've literally had low income dental plans through provinces for decades. Presuming all 450k people on the plan were ineligible for provincial plans isn't evidence. I'm not against low income folks getting dental, I just think the NDP and Liberals aren't doing nearly what they say they are. Same with pharmacare. Meanwhile our main healthcare systems are in crisis in part due to jacking up the immigration rate to historic levels
  14. Provide evidence for this claim.
  15. The link is 3 years old. Show evidence the rankings have changed. Thanks
  16. Canada's housing prices per income has increased more than any other G7 country since 2005. https://betterdwelling.com/canada-has-the-biggest-gap-between-real-estate-prices-and-incomes-in-the-g7/
  17. So you want a big hippie commune drug-den. Good luck with that.
  18. And what if the national program replaced the provincial ones? You're just repeating the government-advertised numbers. The real question is how many low-income folks received dental care that otherwise couldn't have? Same with pharmacare. The NDP and Liberals aren't going to tell you those numbers because they want to show people of how virtuous they are. I don't even know the details of this funding and neither do most Canadians. Is the federal funding just a possible "top-up" to fill gaps in already-existing provincial funding while getting people on a national program that they can take credit for?
  19. Those are social programs, exactly as I said. Also, if you have a low income provinces have pharma and dental care programs already, because healthcare is a provincial jurisdiction. They've been around for decades. So what problem did they solve?
  20. What have the NDP done with the Liberals other than creating big government social programs? *mic drop
  21. Send them all to Canada. Subscribe to my newsletter for more of my fantastic ideas.
