if you talk with any long time resident of any area.. they say that their area has the worst or most unpredictable weather. As for Northern Nevada.. it is remarkably mild. Yes, we get snow and such but never see the temps that one sees in Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

the only folks that I recall using the term were the old timers in Eastern idaho/western Montana. I spent most of my summers growing up in Shoup, Idaho (look it up on google maps) where most of the folks that live/work/play there were mostly retired from government/police/ranching.

This is one of Vivek's last moments in the spotlight. Soon enough, he will fade into obscurity.

My guess is that for a book to make this banned books list, it has to be banned at some point recently by any library, school district, city, county, etc. As for being able to buy it on amazon, you are correct. I bought Mein Kempf, which is far more offensive than anything on this list could ever be on Amazon. PEN America says its data showed that Florida had the highest number of book ban cases, more than 1,400, and the largest number of school districts, 33, removing books in the last school year.

the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group. I would say that it depends on if you define Palestine as a nation and them as a distinct, ethnic group completely different and separate from those who live in Jordan, Egypt, Oman, Yemen, Bahrain, and other middle eastern/north african nations.

Donald Trump is a FASCIST (video)

In today's modern political climate.. anytime that you do not like someone or a candidate... you just call them a Fascist or Nazi. -
Yes. However, where I differ is that I would make getting a student loan more difficult after this. Not impossible.. but slightly more difficult. Some ways that you can filter out those who will default..... make the loan applicants show a decent work history, credit score, etc. Now, if you have no credit history.. then make some exceptions.

Marijuana: What they aren't telling you.
impartialobserver replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
based on data and observation from it being legalized in OR and NV.. no, legalization has not led to an increase in use. These states legalize it thinking that it will lead to a surefire cash cow in the form of tax revenues. Marijuana users are supposedly so dedicated that no matter the taxes.... they will pay it and move on. That has not showed itself in 8 years of OR data and 4 years of NV data. -
President Newsom

I did not know that you lived in CA so you have me beat. However, I live 12 miles from the state line and since moving to Reno in 2010.. have been to CA 100 times at least. Having been to every corner of it.. even the very remote NE corner. In most of the cities of CA.. the housing costs are higher than the national average. Furthermore, they are higher than what they find in NV, UT, ID, and MT.. hence why they move. For someone hitting the 25-35 age bracket and hoping to buy a home in SF, LA, SD (and surrounding areas).. they are in for quite the task. Average home price in San Jose.. 1.4 million. Average home price in Reno (495K). As to what Newsom can do about the very expensive cost of housing in most of the populated areas.. not sure. The lure of it is the climate and proximity to certain amenities (outdoor recreation, wine country, pro sports, the ocean). I understand the appeal... but do not want to pay the state income tax nor the costs associated with owning a vehicle. To register my 2014 nissan versa in Washoe County, it was $42 this year. -
President Newsom
impartialobserver replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
having been to CA more than anyone else on this forum (and its probably not even close).. the reason that folks are leaving is simple.. high cost of living. High housing costs coupled with high taxes (income taxes and vehicle registrations being the two that raise eyebrows the most). As to who is leaving.. it is also pretty clear. It is the middle income 45 to 60 year old bracket that is leaving for NV, ID, AZ, and UT. As for Newsom.. not so sure that he would win. Yes, he has the necessary irrational self confidence needed for a presidential campaign but if you really drill down into his ways.. he is a bit scatterbrained and out of touch with the rural areas. -
Its called opportunity cost. If I (and others on this forum) were to quit our wage-earning jobs.. we would be foregoing earnings and that would represent an opportunity cost. In the beginning, the candidate is usually on their own and so you would have to be self funded to some degree. Also, donors and backers (with deep pockets) do not want to go to your modest 2 bedroom unit in the suburbs.. hence the need for money.

My favorite (that I worked on) was a guy that put his system32 folder in the recycle bin and restarted. Yes, I worked for Apple but most of our calls were folks trying to use the iTunes software on a windows machine. He was having issues installing iTunes and so as he put it.. he wanted a fresh start. I about fell out of my chair. I could not stop laughing. Thank goodness for the mute button
