U.S. Democracy In Decline
CdnFox replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Who knows. The more pressing question is when does the american one end? I'm sure you think it never will. England thought that, it's clear from their writings at the time. Same with spain. Same with the romans. Tick. Tick. Tick. -
Sure. Anybody can just make it up and say that somebody said something. But if it's being said constantly like you say there must be plenty of examples No? No examples? Interesting You wouldn't be..... lyin' again would ya little guy? NAAAAAAAAAAAww,, not YOU!! No, that's not accurate. It's dandy for a general search that summarizes the list of information it's been fed. Since the very first day of computers it's always been a case of garbage and garbage out. One thing you see the left do frequently is take a word that has a negative connotation and then try and warp its meaning to fit their narrative. For example math is racist. The policy of educating first nations people was a genocide. Mike Pence famously said he didn't like to have working meetings with women alone and preferred to do it in groups or remotely so that rumors didn't start and it was called part of rape culture. When it was pointed out that being prejudiced against white people is racism, they tried to change the definition to exclude white people. Fascism is a word like that. There is NOTHING about facism that's right wing at all. It represents a social model where the market is strongly controlled by the state and the state exercises very high levels of control over the means of production and the people. His mantra was : ""Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State."" That's as socialist as it gets IT's got all the left's favorites! Cancel culture! Reduced democracy! Creating criminal charges against your political opponents! Some of the left's biggest hits Academics consider themselves to be left-wing these days and academics don't like the idea that fascism or Nazism or even stalin's communism were left-wing ideas. They'll try to claim that stalinism was not really communism and Stalin wasn't a communist and so he was actually right wing but stole the communist movement 😆😆😆😆 One of the absolutely most important elements of conservative thinking is the idea of freedom from government interference. Any model which is inclusive of any kind of totalitarianism, focus on the state over the people, oligarchy or dictatorship or anything like that would not be a right-wing concept. People like you say it is because you don't like to admit that any system that involves centralized government control over the population inevitably leads to corruption.

Poilievre told a great joke that one of his rallies recently. The short version is how do you know if a newlywed man is a liberal? When he gets his new wife back to the hotel room he sits at the edge of the bed and tells her he can't do anything for her right now but goes on about how great it will one day be, honest!

For sure. I use big words, with two sometimes three syllables! No way you're going to get your head wrapped around that LOLO

U.S. Democracy In Decline

Nothing is ever the same as it ever was. Empire's rise and they fall. And usually they last about 3 to 400 years. Some stretch it may be a hundred years beyond that but not many. You look at Rome, the Chinese dynasties, the Mongol empire, britannia and her empire, spain, virtually any of them. America is in a state of decay, and we see this again and again in history. They are already growing weaker and will continue to do so as the internal rot continues. At the going rate based on history within 100 years America will be a shadow of itself. -
no, again your AI has let you down. It's no match for actual intelligence The people who find the idea that fascism is a form of socialism controversial are people on the left who are violently opposed to being compared to fascists in any way shape or form. Same with Nazism. The fundamental characteristic of socialism is the control of the economy or means of Productions for the purpose of what is perceived to be the common good. That can happen either through direct state ownership or through state taxation and excessive regulation which dictates what private ownership must do. Fascism is indeed a left-wing ideology that was a response to marxism (which Mussolini felt would fail and wouldn't be a good way to attack capitalism). It is an anti-capitalist model. We've been over this a million times. Crying won't help you to cope
-
So name them. It can't, because what it picks up on is people like you insisting that there's all these people making this comment rather than actual people making the comment that's why AI is no substitute for real intelligence. But I guess it's your only option.😆 It really wouldn't. Fascist is your guy's term. We would have called them a socialist or a commie or a dictator. Like I said, with the left every accusation is a confession

U.S. Democracy In Decline

Again you show a lack of understanding. I'm afraid you don't have the education to speak intelligently on the subject. Canadians aren't so mad at other Canadians that they're shooting people who say what they don't like to hear in public. They're not so messed up that they're instructing the intelligence apparatus to create false reports about their political opponents, we're chasing after their political opponents to try and put them in jail. They're not so afraid of one man that if he says something stupid like Reagan loved tariffs nobody's got the balls to stand up to him. Canada definitely has its issues. But America is weaker right now. -
Ruh Roe Carney..... Ahead of budget, Canadians want cost of living help, not deficits: poll - National | Globalnews.ca Turns out what Canadians want are exactly what this budget is not going to be about. Canadians want to be able to afford food, and carney is talking about those same people making massive sacrifices for the future which is exactly what Trudeau promised. And despite the fact that it's obviously going to be an unpopular budget he's going to risk going to an election over it. This guy has all the political skill of a toilet bowl Sorry @ExFlyer, it's not looking good and all the downarrows in the world won't save him LOLOL
-
Sure kid
-
No, but I do see it everywhere else from the left Right Wingers are intelligent and know that trudeau was not a fascist. He was dick tutorial, socialist, pro oligarchy and anti freedom but nobody called him a fascist But I love that you have to accuse me of the very things you do to try and make yourself feel better With the left every accusation is an admission of their own guilt
-
Actually the ad seem to have been very successful. That's why trump is angry. It is lack of ability to follow up that's the problem here. Very clearly ford has identified for trump. We should have a new ad playing every week in America right now hammering the anti-terror message home and reminding Americans how desperately they actually need their neighbors to the north. Because for all the posturing america really does need to have a friendly and Cooperative Canada to deal with. But I think trump really torpedoed himself when he claimed that Reagan tariffs did every republican knows that's not true and it just makes him look terrible
-
The moment I see fascism, I know that the person probably doesn't know what they're talking about. For some reason fascism has become the new popular term on the left for basically extreme authoritarianism or totalitarianism. But that's not remotely what fascism is. For people who actually know what they're talking about it's like a blinking sign to the world that you are too dumb for this conversation.

Thousands of Albertans rally in support of independence.
CdnFox replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Alberta has come moderately close to having the support necessary to separate a couple of times, and I remember those times. It's just doesn't feel like it's got the same steam or energy. But I don't know that it needs to. I think that smith's goal here is to make separation seem plausible enough that the feds can't ignore it and have to sit down and cave to some of her demands. Which is pretty much how Quebec has operated forever. -

Yes but it would be the poutine capital of the world. You have to dream big! -
And? People are picked up by the police and investigated and released when found to be innocent all the time. What's the problem? You can't honestly expect the police to only take into custody guilty people before they've investigated "You're honor, the proof that he's guilty is that we arrested him in the first place! We never arrest innocent people!"

LOL i don't know about murder but you're killing me
-
You would think nothing period You don't have much luck with thinking You should sell your brain, you'd get top dollar for it, it's completely unused You're pissed because I was right and carney isn't up to the job. He came back from his super huge mega big pivotal trip to asia with no deal with the chinese and even though he sucked up and apologized to trump like a biatch trump still won't talk to him. Our economy is on life support and things are getting worse. There's no real chance he'll get a win and he can't even negotiate with the people around him to pass a budget.
-
I don't know about more vengeful but it's definitely going to reduce the pressure on him to do a deal with Canada. If you've got China and Canada fighting you, as the united states that's two of your biggest customers and suppliers. That puts serious strain on the economy. But if the pressure comes off with china, then the pressure on the economy is reduced and you can afford to be a little harder with those who remain. Basically it's not good news for us. Eby's 'Me too! I'm tough too!" ads are expected to roll out sometime this month. I'm sure that will come him down. It would appear that Carney has lost control of the negotiations, americans are disputing that they were even close to a deal as Carney claimed which is one of the reasons they're frustrated, I don't see these negotiations moving forward anytime soon and I don't see them going the way we want them to when they do. I think trump's strategy will be to allow the Canadian economy to sink into recession, if necessary with a little help, and then go into NAFTA next year basically dictating terms which carney will have to accept if he wants to turn the economic tide If there was one thing about this guy I wanted desperately to be wrong about it was his ability to deal with trump. Has it a conservative there were many other areas where we could be critical of him and still win the next election even if he was able to get a good deal with trump, but either way Canada needed a deal. And to get a deal with trump you need to be tough as well as accommodating. If you're a pushover he walks all over you and doesn't respect you and that's exactly where we are right now.

Murder isn't legal anywhere. The definition of murder is an illegal killing. They're not terribly bright are you? You don't really understand how words work it would seem

U.S. Democracy In Decline
CdnFox replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well first off i take it you missed the two referendum LOL ANd they're looking at a third . I don't think you know much about canada. Secondly, i'm not talking about separation. The two halfs of canada are deeply divided and always have been. There's a long history there. They are not the same. Imagine all of the US was California and Texas. But thanks to the efforts of the east. western canada is much smaller population wise and has much less political power. But - it's catching up. There was a time when the west only really mattered as a tie breaker. IF the two main parties were neck and neck in the east, the west might tip one or another over the edge. But now - it's hard to get a majority gov't without very strong support in the west. And in the not to distant future the west may well hit parity. And canada may be driven by those of us who live west of ontario. Not that i think the east is going to be happy with you. America is going to become a smaller, weaker less powerful nation. Canada and others will find new markets and ways of doing business. We''ll take your money but i doubt the relationship will ever be the same and america will be worse for it, -
U.S. Democracy In Decline
CdnFox replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Eastern Canada sure. Not western Canada. And western Canada is growing considerably faster than Eastern Canada. And they have the longest memories. America isn't going to collapse or anything as a result. But it will be weaker. This is especially true seeing as most of the harm it's doing right now is in the east which just puts more power in the west
