  1. That's not very likely at all. Historically In situations that mirror this when it's done it doesn't go well for the incumbent. Joe Clark, John Turner, Jim Prentice, others. It is widely recognized and always has been that it's the job of the government in a minority government to make sure that their budget appeals to at least enough of the opposition to get passed. If that fails to happen it will look like carney did it on purpose and is being an opportunistic pric in order to gain seats and there's an excellent chance that that will blow back against him. I watch that interview. It did not go down the way you're suggesting. And in fact the pundits have been saying that it was a strong interview well done. Many comments even from those who favor the left saying this is what he needed to do in the election and didn't. So if you were pinning your hopes on that I'm afraid it's wishful thinking on your part I don't think the conservatives would have the strength to win although you never know. But the most likely outcome would be carney with a reduced minority where now he will need the support of at least two parties in order to pass anything. And that would be death for him. That would be a huge risk to take. The only reason he would take that risk is he knows that things get worse from here and he's afraid if he doesn't roll the dice now his chances will go down in the spring and the fall
  2. Unfortunately none of that is true. If that were the case it would be easy. Is they've already given trump most of what he wants, but when you give a bully your lunch money then he's going to want your recess snack as well. There are a few trade irritants that Carney cannot afford to give up whether he wants to or not because it will cost him his political job. And one of those is supply management. The reason he hated Freeland was because even before they began to negotiations she was bad-mouthing and publicly and loudly, so literally any concessions he made looked like he was caving to some weak little twat. Trump does not like to look weak. And it's worth noting that Freeland came away with a much worse deal than she went in with. The problem is once you show trump weakness he just doesn't stop. So he's not going to accept that supply management isn't on the table. And he's getting tired of dancing around and offering this or that to get what you want, But carney knows he's out of office tomorrow if he gives it up That's why trump keeps adding additional tariffs and soon he'll give up and just basically say that NAFTA is going in the garbage can and there's tariffs on everything until Canada smartens up. He can afford to wait for our economy to continue to tank to make us desperate enough
  3. I'm sure every great empire thought that was true. "Maybe someday but not now" Take a look around you. The legal system is falling apart. While the democrats may have started it both sides are now openly disregarding the house and weakening democracy. The weaponizing intelligence services to go after their political opponents. The people are divided. They're turning on their allies and at the same time spending so much money that sooner or later there's going to be a massive economic correction that they can't avoid. It was only 20 years ago the government's really believed in the idea of a balanced budget. Trump rightly criticized the Democrats and Biden for excessive government spending yet he's doing even more The American moral value system is shot. There have been three major politically based assassination attempts in the last 3 months, one of which was successful. Trump has managed to convince the world that it's not safe to trust America and that it shouldn't be the economic engine of the world. That completely stunts future growth. For every dollar trump chases into the country two will leave. Canada was set to buy a fleet of fighters which would have made American industry several tens of billions of dollars or more. Now they're in final negotiations with Saab to build new fighters in Canada. But sure, a furniture company that pays kids to knock nails into wood for minimum wage is moving to the states. That's a pretty fair exchange. Don't look at the world through rose colored glasses. Take your blinders off and take a look at what's happening.
  4. I know it's been said by me and others several times but this is the thing that upsets me the most. There is not a single thing that they accuse trump out that they did not do in massive amounts first and they were warned repetitively when they were doing these things that if they did it would open the door to the next guy doing it back to them if they didn't put a stop to it and complain to their party now. Instead they cheer their party on. Now everything they were warned about has come to pass and they're staring around like it's a big surprise. And worse they're angry that we're not upset more now that someone they don't like is doing it.
  5. That's not the apology he claims he gave him or that trump says he got. Carney says he told ford not to do it and is very sorry that he did and that he can't control his premiers. Which is about as far as you can bend over anatomically.. And even though he went out of his way to kiss both trump's ass and his own between his own legs trump still hasn't resumed talks
  6. Being told you are worthy' of joining america is like being told you're a good candidate for a career in prostitution I'm sure OTHER prostitutes think it's a compliment.....
  7. Who knows. The more pressing question is when does the american one end? I'm sure you think it never will. England thought that, it's clear from their writings at the time. Same with spain. Same with the romans. Tick. Tick. Tick.
  8. Sure. Anybody can just make it up and say that somebody said something. But if it's being said constantly like you say there must be plenty of examples No? No examples? Interesting You wouldn't be..... lyin' again would ya little guy? NAAAAAAAAAAAww,, not YOU!! No, that's not accurate. It's dandy for a general search that summarizes the list of information it's been fed. Since the very first day of computers it's always been a case of garbage and garbage out. One thing you see the left do frequently is take a word that has a negative connotation and then try and warp its meaning to fit their narrative. For example math is racist. The policy of educating first nations people was a genocide. Mike Pence famously said he didn't like to have working meetings with women alone and preferred to do it in groups or remotely so that rumors didn't start and it was called part of rape culture. When it was pointed out that being prejudiced against white people is racism, they tried to change the definition to exclude white people. Fascism is a word like that. There is NOTHING about facism that's right wing at all. It represents a social model where the market is strongly controlled by the state and the state exercises very high levels of control over the means of production and the people. His mantra was : ""Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State."" That's as socialist as it gets IT's got all the left's favorites! Cancel culture! Reduced democracy! Creating criminal charges against your political opponents! Some of the left's biggest hits Academics consider themselves to be left-wing these days and academics don't like the idea that fascism or Nazism or even stalin's communism were left-wing ideas. They'll try to claim that stalinism was not really communism and Stalin wasn't a communist and so he was actually right wing but stole the communist movement 😆😆😆😆 One of the absolutely most important elements of conservative thinking is the idea of freedom from government interference. Any model which is inclusive of any kind of totalitarianism, focus on the state over the people, oligarchy or dictatorship or anything like that would not be a right-wing concept. People like you say it is because you don't like to admit that any system that involves centralized government control over the population inevitably leads to corruption.
  9. Poilievre told a great joke that one of his rallies recently. The short version is how do you know if a newlywed man is a liberal? When he gets his new wife back to the hotel room he sits at the edge of the bed and tells her he can't do anything for her right now but goes on about how great it will one day be, honest!
  10. For sure. I use big words, with two sometimes three syllables! No way you're going to get your head wrapped around that LOLO
  11. Nothing is ever the same as it ever was. Empire's rise and they fall. And usually they last about 3 to 400 years. Some stretch it may be a hundred years beyond that but not many. You look at Rome, the Chinese dynasties, the Mongol empire, britannia and her empire, spain, virtually any of them. America is in a state of decay, and we see this again and again in history. They are already growing weaker and will continue to do so as the internal rot continues. At the going rate based on history within 100 years America will be a shadow of itself.
  12. no, again your AI has let you down. It's no match for actual intelligence The people who find the idea that fascism is a form of socialism controversial are people on the left who are violently opposed to being compared to fascists in any way shape or form. Same with Nazism. The fundamental characteristic of socialism is the control of the economy or means of Productions for the purpose of what is perceived to be the common good. That can happen either through direct state ownership or through state taxation and excessive regulation which dictates what private ownership must do. Fascism is indeed a left-wing ideology that was a response to marxism (which Mussolini felt would fail and wouldn't be a good way to attack capitalism). It is an anti-capitalist model. We've been over this a million times. Crying won't help you to cope
  13. So name them. It can't, because what it picks up on is people like you insisting that there's all these people making this comment rather than actual people making the comment that's why AI is no substitute for real intelligence. But I guess it's your only option.😆 It really wouldn't. Fascist is your guy's term. We would have called them a socialist or a commie or a dictator. Like I said, with the left every accusation is a confession
  14. Again you show a lack of understanding. I'm afraid you don't have the education to speak intelligently on the subject. Canadians aren't so mad at other Canadians that they're shooting people who say what they don't like to hear in public. They're not so messed up that they're instructing the intelligence apparatus to create false reports about their political opponents, we're chasing after their political opponents to try and put them in jail. They're not so afraid of one man that if he says something stupid like Reagan loved tariffs nobody's got the balls to stand up to him. Canada definitely has its issues. But America is weaker right now.
  15. Ruh Roe Carney..... Ahead of budget, Canadians want cost of living help, not deficits: poll - National | Globalnews.ca Turns out what Canadians want are exactly what this budget is not going to be about. Canadians want to be able to afford food, and carney is talking about those same people making massive sacrifices for the future which is exactly what Trudeau promised. And despite the fact that it's obviously going to be an unpopular budget he's going to risk going to an election over it. This guy has all the political skill of a toilet bowl Sorry @ExFlyer, it's not looking good and all the downarrows in the world won't save him LOLOL
  16. There is. For one thing americans don't think they're albertans
  17. No, but I do see it everywhere else from the left Right Wingers are intelligent and know that trudeau was not a fascist. He was dick tutorial, socialist, pro oligarchy and anti freedom but nobody called him a fascist But I love that you have to accuse me of the very things you do to try and make yourself feel better With the left every accusation is an admission of their own guilt
  18. Don't kid yourself. He's from Alberta
  19. I think you're dunning-krugering this No idea what fascism means, you misuse the word constantly
  20. Actually the ad seem to have been very successful. That's why trump is angry. It is lack of ability to follow up that's the problem here. Very clearly ford has identified for trump. We should have a new ad playing every week in America right now hammering the anti-terror message home and reminding Americans how desperately they actually need their neighbors to the north. Because for all the posturing america really does need to have a friendly and Cooperative Canada to deal with. But I think trump really torpedoed himself when he claimed that Reagan tariffs did every republican knows that's not true and it just makes him look terrible
  21. The moment I see fascism, I know that the person probably doesn't know what they're talking about. For some reason fascism has become the new popular term on the left for basically extreme authoritarianism or totalitarianism. But that's not remotely what fascism is. For people who actually know what they're talking about it's like a blinking sign to the world that you are too dumb for this conversation.
  22. Alberta has come moderately close to having the support necessary to separate a couple of times, and I remember those times. It's just doesn't feel like it's got the same steam or energy. But I don't know that it needs to. I think that smith's goal here is to make separation seem plausible enough that the feds can't ignore it and have to sit down and cave to some of her demands. Which is pretty much how Quebec has operated forever.
  23. Yes but it would be the poutine capital of the world. You have to dream big!
