Because that is absolutely 100% not how our system works. The government's job is to propose and then the opposition criticizes. The theory is that this will lead the government to strengthen its positions and improve its policy to be more resistant to criticism and therefore the country gets better policy. But this is not rule by committee. While opposition hardee's can bring legislation to the table if they feel that something has been grossly missed, by and large the policy is for the federal government to propose and enact. If you don't like it then you throw them out at the next election. During the election is when the parties come forward and say how they would handle things moving forward. And the parties are also judged on their performance, for the government on their performance for delivering the things that Canadians wanted, and the opposition is judged on whether or not they were correct and their criticisms given the results. It is absolutely against our entire system for the opposition to be coming forward and making suggestions about how to do things differently when it comes to policy. Yes. An election is a confrontational system whereby both parties compete. That is how the system is designed. And you absolutely do not give away your information before the election. No party does. Have you seen the NDP release their platform? No? How about the liberals? Where's their policy plans for the next 4 years? Pretty much non-existent. You announce your platform during the election. Is there currently an election in progress? No? Then what the hell are you whining about?

MAGA civil war starting?
CdnFox replied to BeaverFever's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I love that the left winger is going to define maga Generally speaking it appears vastly more accurate to say that 'maga' supporters are results driven. The right in general tends towards meritocracy. People who get crap done are thought well of and people who fail to get crap done or just spout empty promises are not thought well of. And that's true if the guy is a plumber or a tech Giant. -
Of course it does. Certainly within the context of the community they live in and how they interact with it. Don't believe me? Just go ask a n*gger or two. People don't exist in a vacuum. Their environment and the society they live in plays a huge role in forming who they are so it absolutely does change them. Oh you mean despite your whining i was right. Imagine that. Yawn. That logic doesn't track. Presumably they would label the term offensive because they have determined that it's offensive. And not because offensive interrogatory terms can have an impact on people. It's possible they may look to limit the use of insulting or derogatory terms because of their impact on people but that would not explain why they found that one particular term to be offensive. You really need to work on your logic and reasoning. A first-year college student should have been able to work out why that didn't follow a logic chain. However again while that University may feel one way you obviously don't. You have insisted that even offensive and derogatory terms should be allowed if you feel that you like using them. You have utterly insistent that you have the right to be derrogatory and insulting. Well, that's fine. I tend to agree that people should have that right but if that's the case you can't complain about people misgendering someone or calling them 'tranny' or whatever. I mean the term IS accurate and it IS more convenient and less cumbersome than 'transgender' right? right? But you did. Only when it applied to people you don't like though I notice. You can define yourself as Cow dung if you like, but that doesn't give you the right to make that determination for anybody else. Or if it does, then it gives everybody else the right to decide how they're going to define you Your biggest problem and your whole debate here is that you want to simultaneously insist that you have the right to determine how other people will be defined, while simultaneously arguing that nobody should have the right to determine who you are or define what you are. And that would make you a dishonest person. Regardless of what you imagine is swinging between your legs

MAGA civil war starting?

Right, that's why the democrat supporters were the one who started this thread and do most of the posting on it I'm sure they'll find it entertaining, but no... nobody cares. -
MAGA civil war starting?
CdnFox replied to BeaverFever's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Nobody's going to care. At the end of the day trump will make a decision and life will move on and honestly nobody cares I know that you desperately want this to be some sort of collapse of the republican party but it's not going to be and honestly that's just silly God knows we've had our problems with the same sort of program in Canada. Sounds like it needs a little rejiggering. The drama is always entertaining but it's really not that big a deal. Sorry for your luck -
Looks like he's right you're wrong. When you find yourself having to go back and reword and explain what you said as often as you do then you have a communication issue or you're not being honest

Absolutely. If Trudeau had even a shred of integrity it would never have gotten to this stage, but here we are and a country cannot function with a government that it has no faith in. Nope. Not until he's won the election. But the liberals have absolutely no mandated at this point to represent Canada

How immigration is making Canada - and Europe - poorer
CdnFox replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's not what the op said. And the reason they pay lower wages to those people is because the generally there is lower productivity. Not because of a bad work ethic but they just simply aren't as up to speed as canadian-born people on how things work in the country. So it generally doesn't translate into the higher profits that everyone thinks it does in many cases. McDonald's maybe but that's about it The damage they do is actually quite different. A lower average wage means less tax revenue per person for the government and yet the same number of services must be provided. Basically that means it becomes impossible to deliver the same level of health care, education and other services for the population. They also put tremendous inflationary pressures on the country. When you add a million new mouths to feed every year you put a lot of strain on food prices. And that many people all needing a home puts a strain on the housing market which is reflected in prices. And so on. In the end nobody benefits. Excessive immigration is a net loss for everybody including the immigrants. -
The liberal government didn't feel that way I think he's mostly concerned that some universities have been allowing and even promoting hate speech towards jews. Well they do provide some: In 2021/2022, Canadian universities received $4.6 billion from the federal government, which was an 18.8% decrease from the previous year. But they can also hold back provincial funding of an amount equal to what the universities are getting from the provinces. So not nothing.

No, even if it were true which is not the case that wouldn't be treason. Treason is when you give Aiden assistance to a enemy combatant of your country. So he woudlnt' be a traitor he would be a usurper. Giving china advance warning of an attack however would be treason. SIgh. Is there ANY chance of you ever showing up and NOT proving what a ditz you are?
-
So you're saying you've known he was a traitor for a while now?

But there's nothing respectful about your debate. You walk into the debate and being insulting and arrogant and refusing to address any of the points that are made to you. And Michael is even worse. I pointed out something that is not only true but is easily verified and in fact was verified by another poster here as soon as I said it and he throws nothing but insults and then runs away to complain about how we can't have an honest discourse. It is 100% obvious that you have no interest in this honest discourse. How does that make your cause look do you think. Do you think people are reading this and thinking better of trans people and their advocates? Do you think this is advancing your cause? Sigh. It's like trying to explain to archie bunker why he's racist

How immigration is making Canada - and Europe - poorer
CdnFox replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The result is the same regardless of how it's processed. The numbers are accurate no matter what you say about the methods. Basically @I am Groot Just demonstrated that you were wrong and that he was correct and your response isn't to address the issue but is to try and find a way to rework the math so that somehow you look less wrong. However they get here, the number of people don't change and their level of education and suitability for our population doesn't change -

Hey care as long as these people do what they're told. They're happy to care about the peons as long as they stay in line and obey their masters. Conservatives recognize that these are people. And that you are not superior to them in any way shape or form. And that their thoughts and opinions are valid. These are things that liberals simply refuse to accept Nope. Conservatives say the opposite. They think that the solutions to our problems are letting people and the markets figure it out for themselves, and that doing so will in the end produce the best results. It's the left who believes that people must be told what to do, what to think, how to behave etc. We think the left frequently LIES to people and those who don't know better might trust the left and get taken in for a little while. But as the last election in the states shows and the next election in canada will likely show people figure it out in the end. Being lied to has nothing to do with intelligence. Staying lied to does. Which is proof in and of itself that conservatives are smarter LOL -
adjective 1. conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected. "it's quite normal for puppies to bolt their food" How is it you still don't have a dictionary at your age? The vast majority of males and females fall within a standard or expected or typical range of sex and gender. A handful don't and that's fine, but that doesn't mean there's not a normal I only disagree with the woke ones 😁 And lets be fair, i call you a lot more than that. I'm quite diverse in my criticisms Awwww.......... was that you as a child? Is that why you grew up this way? Was the nasty trainer being a Chud?!? LOLOL
