Yeah , the language he uses is that of someone attempting to appear wise. Pseudo-intellectual if you will. Real intellectuals don't put quite so many on 'ignore' as i see him do It's a weak mind that can't face a contrary argument. Jokes about broken clocks aside, most people can find SOME things they agree on. Honestly - we should probably focus more on that as a society. Although it's not as much fun that way. Lets start with trying to figure out something something a little more simple and less politically divisive than trump derrangement syndrome. Like gender dysphoria or the grand unified field theory or something. -
PROJECTION!! DEFLECTION!!!! GET BACK HERE WITH THOSE GOALPOSTS That's the other thing i constantly point out Those come out when you need to go over to the attack because you can't defend your point. You should NEVER play poker, your tells are so obvious When i laugh i post smiles When i get mad i tend to stop talking. You get a lot of smiles because basically you're one big joke If you weren't so damned entertaining i'd just not bother responding when you post, which is how i deal with some of the other lesser posters here. But you You're so easy to wind up, your replies are so rediculous, and you make the left look SO bad that i just can't help myself and honestly i do spend a lot of the time replying to your posts with a big assed smile on my face In all cases. There isn't an honest bone in your body - to the point where i noticed a few other people were wondering if you were a false flag account noting that NOBODY could be this dumb. I aslo wonder if crackhobaribie is a shill account of yours. There's a certain commonality to the level of stupid

And hillary didn't? "Did you scrub your personal mail server ms Clinton" "What, you mean like with javex and a cloth?" Remember - she to this day says she did nothing wrong. That she is BIGLY innocent. But the finding was clear - she broke the law and she lied. She wasn't charged because they claim they couldn't prove mens rea which is odd because that crime doesn't require mens rea to be a crime. But - it was clear she broke the law and committed fraud. And she defends it. So if THAT was the criteria then the russians should LOVE her

But you weren't and never are. You literally and unironically call jews nazis, call conservatives lesser people, say ANYONE right of your position a hair is a fascist, claim that ALL right wingers think the same things and that's just scratching the surface. Even when you're caught in an obvious lie you will stick by it. Nobody takes you seriously. You're not a very good person.
-
Its' the truth - you only post memes when you've run to the end of an argument or you've been backed into a corner It's like a defense mechanism with you. "i can't be smart, maybe funny will work instead?" oh and Ppppssssttt - they're usually not that funny Just kind of sad and bitter

Waaaaahhh. Yet this same person will demand books they don't like be removed. Bet she didn't complain when elemetary schools removed the now banned dr seuss books. Bet she's ok with the efforts to remove books or movies that were fine in thier day but would never be allowed now. The REAL reason they're mad is the right is using their own playbook against them. Hey - you like those books? They're not banned - they're just not being carried by school libraries. So - organize reading clubs outside of school where kids can read those books with their parents approval and teachers or other interested people can help explain the books or discuss them with the kids. Problem solved. But no - she's unable to function as a person unless the state caves to her wishes. Eff off - the more leftie freaks that quit the better. People will learn eventually if they want to work they should leave their politics at home. Get woke go broke.

No Doubt. I absolutely love this criticism from the left that PP hasn't worked except in politics (which he's worked at for over 25 years) so he's not qualified for politics. IF they were looking for a doctor - the LAST thing they would ask is "Is this ALLL you've done in your life? Like? No plumbing or office work, JUST being a doctor? That's all you've got?" They would never look at a lawyer and say "look, i'm under investigation for a murder i didn't commit, i can't hire you if ALL you've got is 25 years of legal experience and you never even tried teaching drama". In any other profession in their personal lives OF COURSE they would look for the person with the most experience in their field. But somehow - the fact that PP has DECADES of experience and university education that's appropriate to the job somehow DISQUALIFIES him?!?! The lunacy of the left -
Holy shit. Now - i'm the first to admit that i, like most people, thought this was a bit of a flash in the pan and things would go back to relative normal after a few weeks. Bud would have lost a few billion in sales which really sucks but they'd get most of their market back and their stock would start to recover and that would be the end of it. Nope! IT's actually getting WORSE. https://www.theblaze.com/news/hsbc-downgrades-anheuser-busch-stock HSBC just DOWNGRADED their stock, and others are following suit shortly apperently. This will seriously affect their stock value compared to what it would have been. "In a note, HSBC analyst Carlos Laboy, managing director for the global beverage sector at the bank, justified the downgrade by questioning the ability of Anheuser-Busch InBev executives to understand their consumer base." Sales have undergone their SIXTH WEEK OF DECLINE. https://abcnews.go.com/Business/boycott-bud-light-hammering-sales-experts-explain/story?id=99505649 The boycott grew even larger, meanwhile, after the initial response from the company was perceived as conciliatory by some LGBTQ advocates, prompting a wave of frustration on the left, the experts added. So the left is pushing the boycott as well.

That would not be likely. THe ndp and libs would not have enough seats to form a majority, which means they could still be brought down at any time and they would still need to win the confidence of the house with a throne speech which would likely be shot down by the bloc (and the cpc obviously). As soon as that happened the cpc would be offered a chance to form power and the bloc, rather than the ndp, would hold the balance of power. It would be almost impossible for the ndp libs to form a successful coalition unless they could find a way to convince the bloc it shouldn't hold the balance of power in gov't. Good luck with that. -

i think treebeard is a little confused. I believe he thinks that there needs to be a formal agreement to form gov't in a minority like that. But that is not the case. Many a minority has survived doing case by case deals and in fact the first 6 years of harper's terms were exactly that. You don't need a 'deal' to be a gov't in a minority. -

Well actually the libs and ndp attempted to under harper - but they screwed up and were busy taking pictures when they were supposed to be in the leg making a non confidence motion and harper prorogued parliament on them to get past the 6 month limit. -

I suspect most of that will end. Hogwash. Doing a ways and means would be but deal by deal? That's happened before plenty -

For sure. Not the first time in history by a long shot, nor would it be for the Liberals for that matter. But the bloc is actually more closely aligned to the CPC's way of thinking. THe CPC is all about local provincial powers. THe bloc wouldn't do a ways and means deal like the ndp did but they would consider things on a case by case. Frankly its not impossible to bully the others into supporting various bills either. Harper got a LOT done in minority gov'ts without any kind of deal. Remember upon losing the libs always fire their guy and it's a safe bet this is jagger's last kick at the can if he doesn't perform better. So nobody's going to be eager to go to the polls in hte first year or so. BTW - where's that cite you promised me about the 'rules'? -

It didn't SEEM like he actually found it all that helpful but maybe i'm wrong Quebec will keep some cbc services regardless i suspect. And some cbc radio will survive on it's own - but the rest of the cbc will be gone. Otherwise he'll just toss a few grants to some quebec specific news or radio stuff that's local and be done with it. But - he went from looking like opposition in a liberal gov't to strong minority gov't and he's still gaining strength as he goes. And trudeau is still losing strenght. PP is about 3 points from being in majority territory. You can do that much in a decent campaign. So the libs are obviously getting concerned about what'll happen in the next year. PP is no scheer - he's going to run a solid campaign. He's organized like that. So if he goes up even one or two points. before an election it could be a minority for them. And then wipes out most of the cbc, with the star already fading, and throws some advert dollars to the sun, national post and a few others... The libs could be back in the doldrums for another decade or more. -
It's pretty easy to calculate that number - first you take the total number of people who've criticized him. What? That's it.

You had almost a full year to think of a response... and that was your best? Yeash. I think the left is getting a little upset at how PP's doing in the polls these days -
I think canadians are planning to deal with it. I think they'll deal with it by giving PP a majority. Hope you won't be wining about the party you like not getting in when you have to deal with that

Why? It's ineffective, we know that, and yet its costing us a fortune and the most vunerable are paying the biggest price. How is this the right thing to do? In god's name why? Here's what's going to happen. Eventually people will get sick of fake action and there will be blow back on this. And you can bet when that happens then environmental policy will be open season.

Ontario considering restricting Gambling Advertising
CdnFox replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Trust me - this is a little different. This isn't taxes. They will still pay taxes above and beyond this. I don't know if it's still this way but historically the casinos in bc didn't even own the business license to operate. A charitable group would get the permit for a number of days and then the casino would share their profits with them and the gov't. The charity was supposed to provide 'voluneers' to watch over the casino and make sure they operated legitimately but honestly the money gets counted and changes hands so fast i coudln't have told you if they'd pocketed half of it. We have provincial lottos and pull tabs and scratch and wins of all kind It's generally known as '!diot tax" but it's still fun to play. An extended family member did win a very substantial amount once. -
Dude, they will not even be able to begin construction in two years and before that it would be necessary to arrange for sites, and it would cost a massive amount of cash. They are not building enough of them to tunr off the coal oil and gas by 2035 unless they commit today to a 'rush' program that nobody could afford.

What is leftism really about?
CdnFox replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Meh. It's a fair point. -
Well the problem is that regardless of your thoughts on it - the goals are not achievable. The praire provinces rely on coal and natural gas generation. So - without those what can you do? you can't use solar or hydro to replace that, there's just not the capability to do so. You might reduce it a little but there's basically no way to replace it. So nuclear? THe prairies are looking at that but it would be 15 - 20 years to replace all the existing power production with nuclear and the cost would be ENORMOUS trying to do it all at once. Meaning the power would have to cost 4 times what it does now or more. Slowing replacing it over time or providing for growth using it is one thing but doing it all within a short time? Forget it. Alberta might be able to tap into BC's grid but even that would take years and bc couldn't replace ALL their power currently generated by coal oil or gas. Basically the liberals are moving away from setting targets they cannot reach and are basically tasking the provinces with unacheivable goals so they can blame them. Carbon tax, Manditory ev sales, now this, and other things being considered that simply can't be achieved like massive reductions in fertilizer or the like. And some of them are contradictory - they want alberta and sask to sell nothing but ev's within 10 years - which is a massive increase in electrical use - while forcing them to close their electrical plants.
