Hardly. He's bragging and showing he's going to be a valuable player being close to a president. They had been talking for years before this, they had 'other business' to discuss - why not keep your buddy up to date and brag a little. The amount of data shared was minimal. Again - show me where this data was used. Show me where there was some sort of indication of coordinated efforts or timing or the like. Nobody else could find it maybe you can. Of course it does. Other wise it's just giving. Working with this data? how? point to where he used this data to do something he wouldn't have done anyway. Show me where it was used. If it was valuable in the fight to help trump win then there must be evidence of that. The steele dossier was used to attack trump - we know exactly how and where and why. So - where's this coordinated effort between the russians and trump? Doesn't exist. Guess why.

What is leftism really about?
CdnFox replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Not really accurate. When hitler came to power there was insane runaway inflation (the old stories about a wheelbarrow full of Deutschmarks for a loaf of bread), severe employment problems and other economic woes. It was the 'dirty thirties' and the whole world was in the great deperssion. Unemployment was rampant and things were bad. He stabilized their dollar, and did a fair bit to get their economy moving again. People could get work and incomes went up considerably as more work was available. He sold off some state assets. And the labourers were far from slaves. It was one of the reasons he was so popular. Militarization was without a doubt a big hunk of the eocnomy and after war broke out obviously that became a main economic factor. Having said that without a doubt the economic policy was highly questionable. He ran the gov't on deficit financing. He was extremely socialist -what we would call a democratic socialist today with strong central planning and control within a capitalist model. Like i said - if it wasn't for the war and genocide and such he probably would be hailed as a strong example of democratic socialism. It would have been very interesting to see what the economy looked like if he'd skipped all that and just focused on country building. I think it still would have gone sideways in the end but it would have been interesting to see. BTW - strong central involvement in industry (especially energy), massive deficit spending, lots of unnecessary spending on a separate objective (war/climate change) massive increase in the public service.... This guy remind you of anyone we know? -

But it did. He was very much a socialist in many of his policies. In fact as i noted if he hadn't gone comletely bat crap crazy and invaded everyone and slaugtered jews he'd be held up today as 'proof socialism works' by modern social democrats. They can't help it if everyone happens to vote exactly the same way -
Well this is what the dictionary says an 'analogy' is - "A comparison based on such similarity." Soooo - providing weapons of war to a country defending itself from an invasion is pretty much the same as providing a poll to someone. Yeap. Maybe you should be looking for someone "cleverer" than you. So grave they charged him for it!!!! Oh.. wait. In any case they didn't find it was collusion or the like. First off sure it is. They can share their campaign strategy and internal polling with anyone they like Second off for it to be 'sharing' something would have to be given back - and there wasn't. This was a guy who was bragging about his boss winning. Or he knew it was bullshit - like everyone else does now after this report. Why would he, The guy 'shared' that trump was going to win and some polling data to prove it. Not much of a betrayal. Now - if he'd told the russians HILLARY was going to win.... Sure. the guy was unfairly targeted by the FBI. Trump hates the FBI. This is his way of stabbing them in the eye. That's very trump. Since Clinton.

There's stupid and then ^there is really stupid. You're just repeating what i said -
Nope. First nations stopped being 'colonized' years ago. They're canadians now. They vote, they get medical benefits, when they go abroad they take canadian passports, etc etc. And they're not negotiating soverignty issues. They're negotiating land rights and local self governance - just like a municipality isn't a 'soverign' nation. Where's the first nations pass ports? Wheres their currency? Where's their embassies around the world? Where's their immigration offices? When a first nations person is born, do they get canadian citizenship? Not a soverignty issue. You don't think they're discusssing land use issues? Tell me you don't understand this stuff without telling me
-
they actually got convicted of committing forgeries and falsefying documents in the investigation. That's a 'mild critisism'? This is a scathing report that spells out a horrendously unprofessional department doing borderline criminal things (and sometimes over the border) because they didn't like the current president and wanted 'regime change'. This is really really bad.

you having no evidence in the slightest that it was used for anything inappropriate doesn't make it "hot". Some guy brags to his contact that trump, his boss, is going to win the election and shows 'proof' of it and somehow that's a crime? Get real. Well that wouldn't be russian collusion would it. Sooooo - yoiu're saying the FBI didn't investigate him thoroughly? That Trump is some sort of criminal genius? LMAO indeed - sorry kiddo. I'm sure you can find all kinds of reasons to dislike trump but this one was a huge lie from teh beginning
-
TrUmP iSnT PRes NoW - StIlL NoT charGEd. Duh. Nor were any charges ever recommended. In fact - mueller specifically said there was no evidence of wrongdoing. So no - it wasn't barr's policy The closest they came is mueller claiming trump tried to interfere but also had to admit the investigation wasn't hindered in any way and pretty much every legal expert noted that it didn't amount to a criminal offense (except of course the 'experts' on CNN) So that'd be a big 'nope'. Sorry - i mean ThAt'D Be A Biig NoPe.
-
nope. Sorry but that may have been an issue during the colonization process but now it's just two groups, canada and the first nations. No colonization. Gov'ts negotiate land use issues with all kinds of people all the time. I understand fine. Is canada a colony? No. Is canada currently working out land ownership and custody issues with a group? Yes. So - is that colonization? NO. We are a stand alone country. IF an agreement is reached it will be between CANADA and a first nations group - not a colonial gov't on behalf of another country. Colonization is long since over. We HAVE THE LAND. It is in our possession. We've built on it, we've taken it over. it is now part of CANADA. So now all we're doing is looking at deals in a FEW PARTS of canada to straighen out land ownership issues that go back many years. Not colonization. If i do - i won't be a colonizer. And unceded doesnt' mean it's not Canadian.
-
Nope. Sorry but you're wrong. Again. Colonization ended long before anyone alive was born. Now "colonial" and "settler" are just derrogatory terms like "chug" and 'squaw' . Weak minded bigots and racists use it instead of real terms.
-
Nope. That's got nothing to do with colonization. That's just land ownership issues. No it isn't. That's just building the country - same as every country does. Colonization is long in the past. We have problems today for all kinds of reasons, and they all need to be worked out as best we can. Hopefully we can make changes today that make for a better tomorrow. Pretty much every country in the world can say those things and mean it. We are not a colony.
-
Nope. Sorry but that's not got shit all to do with 'colonialism'. Rapes happen at many schools not just residential ones. Sorry. And reconcilliation is about correcting issues of the past - the far past not yesterday. Yeah - neither of those are true but it sure sounds great. Colonization ended a long time ago. Canada has been a stand alone country at the VERY least since confederation and arguably for at least 100 years before that. But now people just use it as a dirty word to mean 'people they don't like' without sounding racist. Which it is. So now canada has to be responsible for the decisions it makes now. And so do the first nations.
-
Riiight - so just to be clear - you're comparing someone saying "our plan to win the election is to go after hillary's weakness" to providing advanced long range artillery, guns and tanks. That's pretty much the same thing. Well - at least now you've left no doubt in anyone's mind how deep your delusions go Hyuk!

Border crossings for some but not for others.
CdnFox replied to taxme's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Side note - not sure you can make that claim. As far as people and cities destroyed as a percent of the total in existance at the time i think the mongols and the huns would probably get that honour, followed by the persians. Of course - you could play with the definition of 'war' a little to make any of them fit or not. Edit - and if ww2 was one of your 'most destructive wars' i think you have to give the japanese equal credit with 'whitey'. -
Its cool even if he does do it personally. It's his data. Manifort wasn't charged for turning that info over to the russians. In fact what he was charged for tends to prove his innocence in this case. He was acting FOR the russians to launder money and such. Which had nothing to do with trump. So he was MOST likely bragging that he would be close to the next president and look their plan is workign and check out these polling numbers to prove it. He was selling himself. So trump can turn over that info no problem. There's nothing wrong. Now - if he says 'here's the data so you guys do this illegal thing on this date and then i'll do this and we'll win", then there's a problem. But he didn't. They found no evidence of that at all, and nothing showed up in teh campaign that suggested he did. And here we are back at your little logic leap. "Oh but he MUST have becuase MUH FEEEEELS!" Sorry kiddo. The only one being dishonest here is you. No evidence of collusion, no conspiracy, no charges for trump and the investigation was inappropriate and illegal in some parts.

Child sex offender Donnie Snook granted day parole "We understand fully that this is a case that has caused — and rightfully so — shock and alarm to the community," Ian Mackenzie said as he delivered the decision on behalf of the two-member board, reversing a rejection of Snook's application last summer. Snook attended the virtual hearing from Mission Institution, a federal prison in Mission, B.C., where he is currently in minimum security. "Even though these offences occurred many years ago, there were many, many victims," Mackenzie told him. His sentence doesn't expire until November 2030, but he became eligible for day parole in December 2018 and full parole in June 2019. More of Justin's Canadian justice at work

Of course it's medical. Genital mutilation is abhorred by legitimate medical people as well but it's still medical. Doesn't really matter which one you prefer. You're really proving my point tho and this one is perfect. Two medical treatments - both seek to make alteration to a person's gender, both are contentious, both are to treat mental concerns, neither are actually considered to be effective treatments for the underlying problems. Both have physcial and psychological elements to the treatment. They're almost identical. But - you think the gov't SHOULD interfere with one and think gov'ts should NEVER interfere when talking about the other. ANd you seem to be standing by that. Well - bad news is that makes you a hypocrite. And that really diminishes any value in your opinoon - you're not basing your opinion on facts or logic, just 'muh feels'. But hey - free country. So if you wish you can do that. -

You're not making much of a case for a better model to be honest. -
So ... absolutely zero then. Trump didn't get charged with anything. Gotcha. You're proof of that You keep running into the same problem. The report doesn't indicate any collusion or cooperation and only notes that a person involved with trump passed along INTERNAL information with not even a hint of collusion or the like. You want to turn it into more but you always come up with that same gap where you have to say 'well OBVIOUSLY that's what they did" without any evidence. Sorry kiddo. No collusion, no charges, no nuthin for trump - and the investigation was improper. That's the fact.

So bc alberta and sask as seperate countries? And quebec as a seperate, and ontario and presumably manitoba and possibly the maritimes. Wouldn't that leave sask and alberta both landlocked? They'd be dependent on the good will of 'ontariotoba' to get goods to water in one direction or bc in the other or the states. And a separate currency for each of those would likely result in each currency having the value roughly equal to the peso wouldn't it? The populations would be pretty think as a market base. The maritimes would be screwed no matter how you slice it i think. I dunno - that doesn't sound entirely practical. -
Well - i don't know who watched the debate but it was very interesting. Having just two debaters was great First off - HOW THE HELL DID THEY WIND UP WITH EXACTLY THE SAME OUT FIT IN THE SAME COLOUR?! Oh - notleys was a white blouse under instead of blue but for EFFS sake -it looked like they were trying to go as twins or something! Yeash. CBC is suggesting slightly it was for notley, which is not surprising considering they hate smith with a passion. But honestly - smith probably took the win. The talk was mostly fluff - but she looked more put together, more confident, and she actually seemed proud when she spoke of her accomplishments. Notley looked more flustered and disjointed. She did better in teh second half but she didn't get any real body blows in and she needed to. Her one thing she got was the 'smith committed a crime' thing -but i don't know if that's going to sway very many voters and honestly her insistence that smith would charge user fees just came across as desperate and over scripted. Was notley's performance enough to move calgary? Which is what it all boils down to. I'm thinking probably not. I don't think she sold anyone on the economics, i don't think she convinced anyone she can bring in investment, and i don't think she sold anyone that her healthcare is going to be substantially better than smiths plan or that smiths plan isn't working, and i think she needed to do those things, We'll see. Most people don't watch debates, they read the paper's accounts of who won and the highlights after so it'll take a couple of days for the full impact to be felt (and by then it's election time) so we'll know one way or another soon.

So how many charges did trump wind up with during or after the investigation with regards to this matter? Oh that's right - NONE I guarantee you would NOT be saying trump was a 'nothing-burger' if he'd been charged with three things and found guilty on one. Three indictments and one guilty in an investigation is TERRIBLE. This is the fbi - not sherrif roscoe p coltraine and boss hogg. And that doesn't account for the stuff which wasn't criminal but was definitely inappropriate and outside of normal procedures. Trump didn't do anything wrong - the FBI did in chasing him. End of story.

Of course it is medical . And it's almost the same thing - changing how you were born to something different for various mental reasons. But - as expected, you are fine with gov't interference with people's medical choices provided it's something you approve of. You defend it, you try to claim "Oh but that's different!!" as an excuse - but that's all it is. An excuse. No more excuses. Either you're ok with gov'ts making decisions about medical treatments or you're not. We can debate the merits of various decisions specifically but you can't just say you like gov't interference when it suits you and its' terrible when you don't. -

Ok - and so how would it look if you had a magic wand and could break it up appropriately. What would the 'countries' be.
