  1. Because it shouldn't cost more. Right now the battery costs a lot, the car costs more because ONLY Tesla is in serious mass production. You don't drive for 6 or 7 hours 99% of the time You don't need to go anywhere if you plug it in at home. On top of that it doesn't need engine tuneups or oil changes or transmissions or clutch work or pollution inspections so it's more convenient. And if you really do drive long distances often you buy a PHEV. If you're a family man, you probably have TWO cars. One can be electrified for running around town and the other for your Griswold vacation in the family station wagon that nobody does anymore. All cars are 'too expensive' - this thread started with someone who thought it was still 2000 and you could buy new cars for $20K. Carried on with naysayers owning $90K-$100K pickups and complaining EVs were too expensive. Not seeing charging stations popping up on their own block because they never use them. Insisting cobalt can only be mined by enslaved African children not the mine 200 km from their own city. IOW repeating 2015 arguments in 2024 as if nothings changed and refusing to accept 2035 is gonna be a hell of a lot different. Try stopping to dig up every reason not to and start thinking of what you're options will be when your current vehicle wears out.
  2. Yeah like how all 3 territories share the same MP and PEI only has 1. F*cking m*ron.
  3. So long as the price of housing increases homelessness will keep increasing. You want the govt to fix that? Then you better bite your tongue and vote for an actual Communist candidate cuz no one else will actively control the real estate, construction and financing markets. Even a revival of postwar veterans housing programs would cost $trillions and still no one could make the mortgage payments at today's values.
  4. Why so many MPs based on our population Because it isn't. Never was. Otherwise in order to be 'fair' we'd need like 1600 MPs.
  5. I'm not. I was asking how you decide resources are fading when we're discussing CANADA. You responding about Bangladesh's pollution problem, which isn't exactly a resource at all. To someone from BC where the population is against oil tankers, offshore fish farms and irate over slaps on the wrist for failed tailings ponds. Huge fights to keep the Fraser and Skeena watersheds and old growth forests pristine. Resources are normally defined as oil, gas, wood, fish, and mineral resources which they're begging BC to produce more.
  6. What makes you say that? We've got shitloads, most of it untapped.
  7. About as hard as expecting an intelligent, to the subject, post is from you.
  8. Pig farmer mass murderer Robert Picton got attacked in prison Sunday night and is currently in hospital on life support. They say another inmate skewered him in the head with a broken off broom handle. How come no one seems to have picked this story up? All our lefty hearts are bleeding for the poor scumbag.
  9. Does Hunter hold any elective office or govt position? Then Who The F*ck Cares about him other than a Trump bag licking Russian Troll?
  10. Sodium batteries are great for large storage options. Wind, solar and tidal alternatives would benefit from those. So would ships and large commercial and construction vehicles. Lithium is lighter, so still preferable for regular vehicles. Although sodium ones could be fully charged in as little as 15 minutes, the weight reduces range and the trade off point has not been discovered. Add on only the Chinese are producing a car with sodium batteries and you won't get to buy them. Not with 105% tariffs. The Chinese subsidized BYD $3 billion to produce EVs, that's bad. The US subsidized GM $34 billion that's good. Canada just shelled out tens of billions too. But even if someone makes an EV that goes 500 miles and recharges in 15 minutes and sells for $25.000, the same guys are gonna complain it doesn't go 1000 miles and fill up in 3 minutes and doesn't cost $10,000 so it's no good.
  11. Trump leads Biden as steward of democracy What an incredibly stupid claim that only the most oblivious, ignorant, brainwashed dimwit would believe.
  12. Youth are buying the climate message because they're not bone stupid. No one's gonna convince them that what they see with their own eyes is fake news and unsupported figures some unknown goof claims are true and the ones with actual backing are lies. Appealing to the wallet about climate isn't gonna work on a 21 yr old who remembers filling up for $2.00/L a couple years ago and pays $2.00/L today (or less) after all the Carbon Tax whining and snivelling. They're not old farts that remember tossing out Joe Clark over paying 20¢/L instead of 16¢. So vote for the guys who'll spend $0.00 on climate change and wants to enter yet another election without so much as an alternative plan and print opinion articles of condemnation as they're not able to either. Uhhh... vote for them guys they're just like us. Can't think of dick shit but keeping everything the same regardless of consequences.
  13. Reason? You expect that from someone who quotes the contents of a book to verify the truth of that same book. Yeah, the sky is blue because it is the sky.
  14. It's a book. Do tell me what qualifications one requires to read and interpret a book. Blindly accepting what someone else claiming to be more qualified tells you it means certainly isn't anything at all.
  15. Blackbird said: that changing sex is not natural and is unproven Chopping down trees, grinding them up, bleaching and pressing the pulp into sheets so you can wipe your bum is not natural either, but you prove it everyday after your morning coffee. What's 'natural' got to do with it. And your gripe seems to be how scientific theory can adapt based on new evidence yet the words in an ancient committee written book were, are, and ever will be the absolute truth. IOW you criticize theory without knowing what it is.
  16. Are you posting with "that cultist's" operating system? Cuz you're too poor to afford a Mac or Linux is just too hard for you?
  17. Pandering to anti-vax id1ots is the #2 reason they'll never get my vote. My youngest sister died from measles as she was born just before the vaccine became common. Went to her brain and it took years of a slow horrible decline that was a trauma for the entire extended family no one wishes on anyone ever again. Reason #1 is an utter refusal to say exactly what they'd do on any issue, climate, housing, medical crisis. drug overdoses, homelessness etc. other that saying what is being done is no good, and they will have a better plan.
  18. Why not? Those exact people have destroyed the entire concept of conservatism by insisting it must be so. To the point of denigrating their own who were actual political conservatives. Just listen to the yap, how many times have they threatened to use the notwithstanding clause to impose socially conservative shit, despite the fact it wasn't put there for Ottawa to use and admits openly that any such act violates the existing Constitution? Now social conservatism has become a rallying cry for populist gut issues that only distract from the real political issues?
  19. See what I mean. Boiling down to wanting an actual dictator. Democracy is too inefficient. We'll just fprget who set Hitler and Mussolini into power will we? How convenient.... Not really, so we have a Head of State that doesn't do Sweet F*ck All but wave when he visits. The Governor General does what very little about anything they can do on the Monarchs behalf. Beats the snot out of a President that tells you what they're going to do and how you will act any day. Unless you actually want a dictator but scream loudly that anyone who can't dictate to you is one. And it's impossible to change the Constitution at this time. So why bother getting your panties in a knot about the Monarchy. Be happy that when they do get Chucky on the coins it will be a side profile, otherwise the coins will have to be changed to oval shaped to fit his ears in.
  20. The candy on the clearance shelf was $3.00 on Weds. it's remarked to $6.69 on the same clearance shelf today. The jelly doughnuts that were 6/$6.69 Thurs. were 6/$7.99 today. Shit like that is what's making shoppers irate. Like I said before you can buy the Family size pack of sausage rolls and pay 4¢ more if the big sticker fools you. They ALL pull every sales trick in the book and thinking a different govt would change anything is stupid. Don't bu it and use your feet to shop elsewhere. if you have that choice.
  21. The UK won't even have Chucky on its money for another couple months. WTF does Trudeau even have to do with it? Does he personally decide when the mint redesigns and issues coins and bills? Once again showing you think the PM should, praising democracy as you bellow for a leader who will tell you what you will have for f*cking breakfast. Call PP and tell him to take up the highly important issue of WhoTF is on the money so he can outrage too. He can order the trains to run on time as he wishes away the glacial speed of bureaucracies. As for you tradionalists, replace the $20 with Terry Fox and all the coins with the Maple Leaf from the old penny. You can still wave at Chucky when he visits.
  22. Just say out loud you abstain without these bullshit excuses. You have the right not to, Every excuse I quoted is bullshit. And yes, lazy is a big one. Walked into the room and there were 8 kids smoking dope. They asked who won the election so I told them "The guy who will NOT legalize pot. By FOUR votes. You're all over 18, don't you wish you'd gone to vote?". But I bet even now decades later none of them ever have. Probably think the people that do vote are the stupid ones that don't matter. You aren't too busy when you've had months to prepare. There ISN'T a religion that bans you outright from voting Your Boss is required by law to allow you the time to vote, union or non union. The party I like can't win anyways the most common excuses. Rather than admitting I don't want to I don't feel qualified to decide I don't like any of the choices The guy's suggesting stamping your thumb like voting was held in some third world country for the very first time or like admission a night club. Zero reason or benefit. I proposed a suggestion, are you not able to do the same? Rather than grovelling about for some semantic interpretation to claim every poster is really claiming something other than what they said and arguing to that point?
  23. But you who can't comprehend the meaning on a stop sign, know it all better than those stoopid elitist nurses and doctors.
  24. an he uses big wurds too! Vote for the guy who won't tell you nuthin about nuthin, just repeats wut you whine about on TV.
