  1. Everything is being affected by that. Nobody to take over the autobody shop, nobody to hire to do the work, no one to work at or take over the autoglass place, the cafes, the clothing store. Been looking for doctors here for decades, can't even get nurses for the new hiospital under construction. Started a nursing program at UNBC years ago to address needs seen 10 years ago, we needed 5x as many programs 5 years ago to come close to the needs today. School closures because there's no more kids in the neighbourhood my kids grew up in. More people & homes there - but a quarter the kids there were 30 years ago. Nobody planned ahead, let alone for the health & employment disaster of the last few years. One local doctor tried to retire 15 years ago, but had to keep working. Trued again to semi-retire and ended up giving up his seat on Council as he was needed again in the local practice. My own doctor came from Namibia, loves it here but he's past retirement age now too. Should be able to enjoy his hobby farm and slow down, but he can't.
  2. Yup a tiny town with few crimes was because of guns. We hear that a lot from people stupid enough to believe A happens because of B because they happened around the same time. If my neighbours have guns because they think they need one to feel safe, there's a problem with the neighbourhood and that is my problem. Fix it, don't stick your head up your ass pretending you're solving dick shit.
  3. The health care system was getting hit by the surge of aging boomers. Then we had a pandemic that flooded them, mainly with people too stupid and obstinate to observe the precautions. Which caused a huge backlog on treatments and surgeries. That kept staff working under pressure trying to catch up. Now it's hit with a surge of kids whose parents were those stupid and obstinate ones pretending to give a shit about their kids health, the rest getting nailed with 3 years of normal flu variants at once from observing the only precautions that could be taken at the time, on top of three years of delayed retirements of medical staff. And now we deal with the dupes, when federal spending on health care has never been higher cherry pick statistics to claim it has 'slipped to only'... , want it fixed tomorrow, won't commit to ensuring new funds are actually spent on health care, ignore announced federal promises of increases and want to Fed bash thinking action comes from more meetings. Maybe you can design the PowerPoints and cater sandwiches at those meetings to pay for private health care instead.
  4. That's how we pay for lower Hydro, lower car insurance, drugs for kids & seniors. We collect a Head Tax on people who move here. From places too effing stupid to collect their own carbon tax and give it back.
  5. Oh so brave. Let your town descend into Mogadishu, Just buy bigger guns. Retarded John Wayne wannabees
  6. Someone miss out in their youth? A hell of a lot healthier than having them doing it in the bush or the barn because they were told it was naughty and sinful. Poor little buggers don't even have barns and bushes to hide in these days.
  7. Every laptop I refurbish and sell is named "Hunter Biden's Laptop" by default now. Even made a custom USB install stick. Have fun, boys!
  8. Got my Hydro bill today. $6.07, six dollars and seven cents. That leftist bastard Eby cutting my Hydro and car insurance! Sending me rebate cheques all the time. We hates him, we does!
  9. I never said it's ok. But you're not likely to get your face punched in, which you seem to think is a "right" that you need protection from. I've told people in a social group that it's okay to punch the bastard's face, I'm not defending a bigot. Ask a couple S African scum who everyone in the lunchroom did the same. And held the bar door open for a bunch of East Indian taxi drivers to give the local biker's what they deserved. (that was better entertainment than the skank they had on stage)
  10. Beats blocking the mind of all rational thought and just 'blame the left' while you S.F.A. about things.
  11. This seems to be common among automotive legends. Henry Ford was an utter douche-bag too.
  12. You never cease to amaze me with utterly stupid beliefs.
  13. And to live their lives without persecution, to have a say in how things are run that affect them. Those ARE the Canadian values. Not just simply economic reasons. Afraid they might not vote how you do? To effing bad, this is a democracy and it's going to stay that way. FFS the boomers everyone whines about have/are now retiring, I know I'm a tail-ender of that generation and I have too. NO KIDS HERE are taking up the slack, the bakeries, the cafes, the retail shops, even computer businesses - HERE - we're handing you what was ours and you won't even take it. HERE - we're handing you a home but you want to rent in downtown Vancouver to go night clubbing, HERE - a completely functioning set of institutions and you won't even learn how it works, let alone try to run it. Of course we need immigrants, they're the only ones who can see opportunity. The bulk of "traditional" Canadian\s sure as hell can't.
  14. Because you said so? The values you mentioned are the very reasons they come here. So exactly what "traditions and values" do you really think they threaten?
  15. Well surprise. Mention 'free speech' and 2 residents immediately prove that's what they think free speech is. You can say it among your kind, you can't publish it, put it on a sign outdoors or post it. You can even say it to a brown person if you want to get your face punched.
  16. You're making yourself angry by repeating false beliefs to yourself. They're capturing his farts? Alberta can't make hydrogen if it wants to? And what's the relevance of what ancient people did? You're making up reasons to rile yourself up. There's been dozens of alternatives in this thread alone. *Gee on forums that didn't have babyish filters most adults would say they're getting p-i-s-s-e-d off....
  17. If you lived somewhere you thought you needed a gun, most sane people would move.
  18. Yeah just saw the prices and shortages of meat and bread at the grocery store. I guess all the ranches and farms in Alberta really have been dug up looking for oil sands, eh? - oh wait. I was supposed to believe when gas was $2.50/L that the oil in Alberta was used up because we couldn't get Russian oil just months ago.... I love how the ones who always quoting other's "fear" are the ones absolutely scared shit-less about any change at all in anything.
  19. Oh FFS and giant cooling towers look so much prettier? What a lame excuse. While converting coal plants to LNG will reduce carbon output, building more LNG plants sure as hell won't will it? Reducing carbon emissions is the goal, regardless if YOU like it or not.
  20. Yeah couldn't miss all the windfarms around the Pass when we visited friends. Seems more practical than just letting the wind blow trucks off the road. Converting all those remaining coal plants over to gas would be a huge step in the right direction. BTW isn't just trucks - we drove down southern Hwy22 in a 2dr Wrangler - what a wild ride!
  21. What point are you trying to make with this irrelevant overused denier sound byte? That they should attend world conferences by sailing ships and donkeys? That you if you have environmental concerns you shouldn't own a car, a fridge, a computer? If your bicycle gets a flat tire do you chuck it off the bridge into the river? Or do you FIX IT? Did you chuck it in the river because others told you only stoopid people fix things? Then you'd be dumber than they were. So stop telling people trying to fix things that they're the fools.
  22. Word filter makes us use baby talk like piddle....
  23. Only I don't cuz I've lived here for 35 years. None of the sitting Chiefs or Councils at the time supported it. Just like now when a couple "Hereditary Chiefs" oppose the LNG, but all the elected, sitting ones do. You think the Financial Post is going to give the whole story? You must believe the Fraser Institute as gospel or something. Just as you conveniently left out that there was no intent to send light oil thru Northern Gateway. Or that it required a 2nd pipe to send dilutent back to the oil fields so they could even pump the heavy oil, and that was even more dangerous to the environment should it leak. Over and done, too late to start now. Look at doing something instead of what might have been. Quit the sovereignty bullshit and get with it, if you don't like federal carbon tax, collect your own. They don't care if you give every penny back to Albertans as rebates or fix your hospitals and build your own damn refinery. You're still complaining when there's always been an option on the table. Jeez, collect it and piddle it away studying bridges and tunnels to nowhere like BC does. Build a Edmonton-Calgary Skytrain, whatever you want. You can already decide how to use the money but seem to prefer nothing but Ottawa bashing.
