Try to imagine being someone who endlessly glories over extrajudicial killings by private citizens for non-violent offences at every opportunity. Someone who really really wants the opportunity to kill someone trying to take his tv rather than stop or incapacitate them, who believes that they themselves are the rule of law.

Will the PM and Premiers fix the health care system?
herbie replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There's a million ways to make things more efficient and technology is #1, I live where they're still 'faxing' things back and forth, taking days to get results from the hospital lab to the doctor's office 1,000 ft away and no one ever contacts patients back about anything. All results are on YOU to nag and pester and demand services. A central database that all doctors can access in an instant is needed, office staff should be required to take the results of every visit, enter them immediately with links to scans etc. instead of what I see - sitting with their thumbs up their ass reading the magazine that should be reserved for patients waiting in the lobby, THe database should spout a list to their clinic of who needs prescriptions renewed, has appointments there or is due at the lab and they should make an effort to call them to make things run smoother. Also, the doctor doesn't need to see you every time to renew an ongoing prescription unless there's new info or something changes. FFS I've been on metformin almost 8 years and they always tell me no appointments available for 6 weeks for a 2 month prescription renewal for something I'm supposed to take every effing day for the rest of my life. Just send an auto-refilling prescription to the drug store and call me and set up an appt. if a change is needed. -
Rallys against experimental vax, then ODs on fentanyl
herbie replied to herbie's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Don't drink, don't smoke, what do ya do? goodie goodie two shoes... no tetanus, smallpox, MMR, flu shots, Hep A, pneumonia either? Or just that one cuz some goober told you it was baaad ... -
The epitome of every anti-vaxxer I've ever met: anti-science flat earther, anti-isolate, hypocrite. Tries to convince others not to use 'untested experimental vaccine" and then kills himself shooting up street drugs... if he was a 'sovereign person' he'd have checked every box. Prominent B.C. anti-vaxxer died of fentanyl overdose, coroner rules https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/prominent-b-c-anti-vaxxer-died-of-fentanyl-overdose-coroner-rules

Is it a Chinese weather balloon or spy balloon?
herbie replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The words "spy" and "200 foot balloon" do not belong in the same sentence. Talk about an oxymoron! List it beside George Carlin's "military intelligence". IE blow it up blow it up and then look for the pieces on the bottom of the sea to find out what it was, -
If you ever read a real newspaper, you'd know we're aiming to take in 400,000 immigrants, none the epitome of an Ugly American. Though with multi-culturalism any MAGAs here could still tongue bathe Trump and lament the loss of their 44 Magnums and silently loathe the very people who made the tacos they're stuffing down their throats.

Do you believe that Jesus really existed ?
herbie replied to Jean-Kevin's topic in Religion & Politics
Science is about the ONLY resource. Something you don't have to believe in, because it works whether you believe in it or not. If you don't know that, you don't know shit. -
Well hurry up and start up a draft. And BTW not the ones who need medical marijuana, we don't want the sick and infirm. The healthy ones can just go to the Pot Shop and buy real weed with their own money like the rest of us. We'll put in an order for a couple hundred thousand non-MAGAs right now. New Zealand will most likely take some too.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Once again you present the same critiques of battery power as if problems aren't already being, can't or ever will be addressed. And not the issue of Ontario, where cars are made investing in them. -

herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
sounds more like you'd like people to believe that. Now how about coming up with an actual reason that Ontario should'nt be investing into EVs. Do you want it to lose auto manufacturing jobs? -
I'm not arguing whether this quota system is good or bad. I'm making the same argument I always make that the people who are supposed to manage are useless f***s interested only in blaming something or someone else fpr their incompetence. We talked decades ago about the Peter Principle, now we're living with the consequences. The top levels of everything are fully staffed with people who can't or just won't. Not just gov't bureaucracies, everywhere!

Chinese Spy Balloon Invades US Airspace.
herbie replied to Infidel Dog's topic in The Rest of the World
Yeah I heard the 'talking heads' claim they're maneuverable too. Duhh that thing underneath must be a propellor... duhhh Like you ever in your life see a commercial blimp or balloon that was completely round and had no outboard engines? Never heard of hot air balloons going off course? Contests trying to land them close to the X, with a pilot onboard? FFS the entire USA believes in conspiracies before they'd believe in f***-ups. Besides, it's shot down over the Atlantic -
It isn't the problem in this case. How the f*** do you go 30,000L over your quota? Are we gonna take the same stance if someone goes 200 tons over their salmon quota? If you have a quota you try to stay within it, sell off a few cows, buy a few more. Not run a couple hundred or a thousand more than you need. They're there to maintain a steady price for the dairy farmers, and like fish, wheat and other quotas have been manipuated and speculated into selling quotas into massive conglomerates. It's the like TWO bread companies and TWO cheese companies shovelling in the money and hosing everyone in the country. How come I can buy two or three times the amount of CDN cheese at Costco, or imported cheeses subject to duties for less than CDN cheddar at regular stores? If every single corner store in the country didn't sell mo;k and bread you know damn well we would be gouged $7 a litre for milk and $5 a load for bread. Loblaws, Sobeys, SaveOn are completely innocent and blameless, just like Exxon. Chevron and Shell are, eh? You're all dreaming if you think any savings will be passed on to you - like all the the savings you got for self-serve gas, the 'savings' from ATMs that work 24/7, from the self-checkouts that put your kid out of work.

Biden allows Chinese spy balloon over US
herbie replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Maybe they wouldn't shoot it down because they thought the Chinese used acetylene in the balloon as the USA pretty much has a lock on helium.... that would be fun to watch! -

Hey c'mon! We can't afford B52s and ICBMs. And we still have that British 'make do' heritage. -

Yeah and that was SO effective wasn't it? SPY balloon my ass. Might as well put cameras on a wasp or hornet they're about as steerable and predictable as a balloon. -
If you're producing more than your quota, you're not running things right are you? It's not the quota to blame. Specially in a market where you have no way to unload it. Whenwe lived in the Fraser Valley everyone knew where to go and when to get chickens and eggs that were over quota. Even the odd place to get your illegal whole milk... The stereotypical "free market" response just works so well on other things in the supermarket... like a dollar more for everything each week and BS media releases claiming the almost weekly price increases as 'yearly inflation figures". Fix it! You don't just tear shit down and just repeat propaganda as a solution.
-
$7 a litre! Where do you live Nunavut? It's $2.39 a litre here and if the farmers are getting 90c that's not bad. The problem is wastage of overproduction, perhaps if cheese makers weren't charging like the colour of cheddar comes from mixing in gold dust we coould solve some of it. Or go back to buying it at a lower price. powdering it and giving it away as foreign aid.

Yes I read his post and "most" people would disagree with him. Accommodating one group does NOT impose it's values on others and every other thing he listed was a valid opinion held by many. But if you've set your mind to stone that discouraging hatred is 'stirring things up" you've bought the program of those so right they're wrong.
