The many problems with Electric vehicles.
Aristides replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Actually they won’t because oil companies will just reduce production to match demand and governments will keep piling on more taxes to replace the fuel taxes they are losing to EV’s which pay no fuel taxes toward infrastructure and transit. -
Putin doesn't like to drink blood in spite of the fact that those who stand up to him wind up dead. He even goes after them in other countries. It's based on the fact Putin invaded a smaller neighbour because he wants to resurrect the Russian Empire. He is a calculating monster, not a rabid one.

Trump doesn't own many properties outright so will have a tough time using them to secure a bond when there are other owners or creditors. Trump Tower in NY is a good example, much of it is residential condo's that are owned by their occupants, not rented. He never owned the towers in Toronto or Vancouver and they couldn't wait to dump his name after 2016. Who knows now much of an interest he has in other Trump properties or how much of their value is owed to banks and other institutions.

Maybe you should watch the actual interview.

Canada lost their share as well. I knew a couple of people who flew them both in Germany and instructing at Cold Lake. They figured on losing at least one pilot per tour. The problem with the 104 at low level was its small wing, they were pretty much flying a thrust vector and had to be way ahead of the aircraft to avoid terrain.

BC to sue producers of "harmful" products.
Aristides replied to betsy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Well it would help. While Swiss reservists take their weapons home, ammunition is kept at armouries. The US has a culture that is willing to accept a high body count. -
Apparently Musk thought Lemon was his employee and the interview was just going to be another Carlson/Putin suck up session with a few softballs thrown his way. He obviously doesn't know anything about Lemon.

Regulations need to fit the culture, not the other way around. -

That's part of the well regulated militia you guys ignore. Swiss have mandatory military service and a lot of these are service weapons. Yes they have high gun ownership but they also do a lot of things you refuse to do. https://switzerlandadvisor.com/switzerland-gun-ownership-facts-and-regulations/ Also, in 2013 Switzerland had a referendum on conscription and 73% voted in favour of keeping conscription. So yes. the difference is cultural. -

I guess we will see. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-appeals-court-revives-mexicos-10-billion-lawsuit-against-gun-makers-2024-01-22/ -
BC's carbon tax is just another exercise in wealth redistribution. When it was first brought in, carbon tax revenues were supposed to be offset by reductions in other taxes. Now it just goes into general revenue.

It's not just single seaters, simulators are so good now, the first time transitioning airline pilots fly the actual aircraft there are passengers in the back. When I was in the airline biz we used simulators all over North America and even the UK but we always used our own instructors training to our own procedures.

The BC NDP once again spending millions on lawyers for nothing. You can sure tell there is an election in the fall. -
One way China controls its population
Aristides replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Totalitarian governments exercise total control whether they are communist of fascist. Pinochet in Chile and Galtieri in Argentina both overthrew socialist democratic governments to establish military dictatorships. All the totalitarian governments in the middle east are neither democratic or socialist. -

Interesting that 10 of the top 13 ahead of us on the social mobility list are EU members and the other three are part of the Schengen zone.
