Trumpees have already started the violence.

It was a riot that included breaking into the Capital building. There was an explicit goal of preventing the "peaceful" transfer of power. It's a little beyond expressing doubt, and to downplay it as such is to be divorced from reality. It was Trump supporters who initiated violence on the government on Jan 6. It's Trump supporters who create militias in backwoods to fight against government. It was Trump supporters who carried Nazi flags in Charlottesville. Who is prepping for civil war? Trump supporters, not the right, not the left.

It's like these objectors are surprised by the fact of POC in the world. They deny systemic racism, then complain when their expected all-white cast has a few POC included.

Maybe that was the motive for these two - prove that guns are no more dangerous than knives. Is that what you believe?

You miss my point - behaviour such as that shown by the Albertan oaf is something that female politicians are subjected to, more then men, around the world. It's wrong, regardless of who is in power or what gender it's directed to.

If a woman is in the military, why isn't she trained in close combat if that would work too reduce the incidence of assault/rape? And how, exactly, do you know that only untrained women fall victim? Maybe try blaming the people who act this way, instead of Trudeau. The harassment of female politicians is significantly higher than harassment of male politicians around the world, not just in Canada.

Not even politicians can please everyone all the time. If I think addressing climate change is the most important issue and you disagree, one of us isn't going to feel "listened" to no matter what government does. As citizens, we have to expect that our pet issues aren't necessarily going to be part of government vision.

Being threatened by someone 6" taller and 75 lbs heavier is scary. Women are beat up by men every day - even army women get raped by their brothers-in-arms - so to say that if women just stand up for themselves, they'll be fine is the height of ignorance. You've got no idea how it feels to be a woman and have some strange guy cursing and yelling at you. That guy was big and intimidating and I highly doubt the ladies were laughing about it. I know I wasn't when we had a deranged neighbor who behaved aggressively; I was afraid to go out the front door. Jeez, can't believe people are so willing to downplay this kind of behavior.
