  1. Defamation requires harm. An anonymous poster on an internet forum isn't being harmed. The families of the murdered children were harmed because Jones claimed they were part of the conspiracy, which resulted in Jones' believers to harass and threaten them.
  2. I think the words "turn the waterworks off mah" is the key here - minimizing the effect of Jones' lies on the families involved. No compassion or even understanding for people victimized by the massacre, or the harassment and death threats they endured afterward - thanks to Jones' lies. "Turn the waterworks off" - so heartless.
  3. What, you can't handle the idea that 10-year-olds might be curious about romance and sex? Let me give you a story from the very rural area in which I grew up: 1. No rainbow flags in sight, they hadn't even been thought of it; 2. No sex ed in school, nor with parents ; 3. A sleepover with about 8 other girls; 5. Practicing kissing for when we get boyfriends; 6. I was deemed a bad kisser, so was relegated to holding the lantern; 7. I don't know how far the other kids went in their exploration; 8. We were between 10 and 12 years old. I have other stories; that one is the most tame. Kids are sexually curious and will experiment from a young age - even without rainbow flags, even without any mention of sex from parents or teachers. Your idea of an idyllic, sexless childhood is about as far from reality as it can be.
  4. Bullshit. My kids regularly came home talking about their boyfriends and girlfriends, starting in Grade one. When I was 10, I was learning about sex from other 10 years-olds - and it was more than just talking. Young kids are not oblivious to the world, themselves and how they fit into it and that includes sexuality. BTW, I assume you and the mother of your kids never expressed any physical affection in front of your children because you didn't want to ruin their childhood with anything that could possibly be construed as sexual.
  5. The point is that these people didn't ignore it. If I go tell your friends and colleagues that you are embezzling money, and they tell your boss, who fires you and has you charged, am I responsible for the damage done to your reputation and your job loss? Or can I use the defense that it's not my fault what other people do based on my lies? I don't think so; you'd be able to sure me for defamation and likely collect damages. No different for Jones - people got hurt because he lied about Sandy Hook, about the kids who died. It's ridiculous that people defend this behavior.
  6. I guess we know where your moral compass is - lying is ok and accountability is for other people, not you or your heroes.
  7. You clearly have no idea how communication works, nor any idea how ideas spoken translate into action.
  8. It's not a witch trial when your heroes have to pay for using lies for clickbait.
  9. You really are out in left field aren't you. The parents of a kid who was killed in a massacre bought a civil suit against the person who defamed them by speaking lies. The lies were believed by a certain really stupid demographic, who then threatened and harassed the parents. This isn't left/right, this is tragedy speaking out against an opportunistic, lying POS.
  10. He had a fair trial; jury and everything. Is every judgement you, personally, don't like some kind of political statement. Why do you support a lying jackass anyway?
  11. It was a civil suit, not a criminal charge. He was found guilty for defamation, which is what his lies were. Then he was assessed damages against the people his lies hurt.
  12. Nice to see you finally admit to some negative political activity by conservative/republican politicians.
  13. You extremist types hate to take responsibility for your actions, don't you. His lies had a direct influence on these assholes, kinda like handing a gun to a guy who says he wants to kill someone.
  14. People lost their children and were then harassed by a$$holes who believed this POS. Why must everything be about your extreme political partisanship.
  15. I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope she's better soon.
  16. Little bit extreme, imo.
  17. Life means so little to you, unless it's a blob of cells inside a woman.
  18. Conspiratard gets what he deserves.

Alex Jones will be paying millions for the lies he told and the damage his lies caused.

Yeah well your excessive compassion and empathy doesn't make you a better, whatever the heck it is you're trying to be.

So excuse me if I don't like it when I see you people giving each other high-fives and piling on your latest cause de jour. Another demon for you to point your fingers at, and say, "There goes a bad man."

      So as to purge yourselves.

How strongly do you identify with Alex Jones, anyway?

      Now that’s a good one.

  19. In BC, my niece works for the Ministry of Education. They were not required to get vaccinated, and so she didn't. There are a few private businesses around the province who also chose not to require vaccination for their employees. Maybe it is/was different in other provinces, but in BC, except for certain ministries and private businesses, vaccination of employees was left up to the employer.
  20. You don't actually understand polls, do you.
  21. It's the interpretation the UN uses. Look it up or refer to the link I posted earlier in this thread.
  22. Perhaps voting their conscience means not voting for Poliviere. Ever think of that?
  23. Right and as soon as "leftists" swoop in to take your kids/ grandkids to schools where they are beaten for speaking "right-wing", and right wingers are herded on to a reserve for which you need a pass to leave for a day, while your women are systematically sterilized - well then you'll have a point. Sir J.A. McDonald, who said "take the Indian out of the child" was a conservative.
