  1. Here's a copy/paste from a recent job listing I came across. This appointment is open only to qualified individuals who self-identify as members of one or more of the Four Designated Groups under the Canada Research Chair program: women, Indigenous/Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities and racialized persons/visible minorities. This is in bad taste at best, but leans more towards outright racism and sexism, with a big dose of stupidity.

  5. Ok so it's unconstitutional. They were the grits and the torys if I recall. Those who sat to the left and those who sat to the right of crown or monarch. Was just an idea. Just sayin, is all. The idea was to remove the influence of inheritance, whether it be by the king or by party back-benchers. The shadowy people who actually run things. Trudeau himself is just a brand name.
  6. You are just counting the ones who didn't get vaccinated, not including those who were forced to do so or no longer be employed such as myself and my colleagues. My opinion isn't only that I think these experimental pharmaceuticals are dangerous, but that people were having them forced upon us. I understand if the benefits outweigh the risks, as is often the case with old people. When they demanded it for kids, and even pregnant women, that kinda raised my eyebrow. But hey, you want another shot for yourself who am I to object to that. Does that make me an antivaxxer?
  7. Ok, look. Let's say we elect a sort of Executive Officer of the week... but all the decisions of that officer... You get the picture. Ok how about this. The whole left/right thing is a false dichotomy, in that most "ordinary" human beings are a blend of these views, based on their personality, upbringing and local/ regional values. Anyone who's completely one-sided on issues is a partisan. In reality when you meet such a person you might consider them as "nutbar". Excluding those who work directly in politics of course, since it's their job to BE partisan. And they, are the ones who are pushing their brand of bullshit on us. All these divisive issues? Government. Bad health care? Government. Bad economy, prices, wages, infrastructure? Government, government, government... you get the picture. Therefore absolve the party system. Parties are the problem, because they are... partisan. All candidates become independent. The present themselves and their "team" as in cabinet, as a model for the public to vote on. Most of all, they MUST present a platform, at the bare minimum. That way no more Doug Fords can come in at the last minute and mesmerize the public due to a false political "emergency".

  9. You extended my thought to the extreme, which does make it ridiculous. I asked a question that is about the reality of politics. Go after Trump, if you have the right to do so. But then I would insist you must go after them all, by the same right. Then what... how far does one go and where do you cross the line. There's a thing called opening a can of worms. Pandora's box. You people want to create a civil war for yourselves, go right ahead. It's a pity to see the world's best hope for democracy and freedom tear itself apart because emotional pap-smears have been incited to spout off their superlatives, people who don't know history and don't understand that corruption is part of the very fabric civilization is built on. Again where do you cross the line and stop making excuses for them. From what I understand with this here document shit, doesn't look like much. If you people have a security problem with your classified docs you better clean that up.
  10. You exemplify why facts are not the only thing that matters in politics. There's the law as written in books, and then there's the application of civics in the real world. To be more clear, I know and accept there is corruption at the most high levels. In truth there must be, for things to work. That is the nature of duality, and it especially applies to politics. The bigger you are, the higher you go, the more you must accept it. If you understand why it is, you would also understand it has to be hidden from the public for them to have "faith" in so-called democratic structures. Every president, every national leader has to face certain reality and do things that are illegal for anyone else to do. So while I cannot dispute your facts because they might be true, it doesn't necessarily equate to the need to press charges and actually go through with it. It depends on the specifics of the case. At what point does executive privilege cross the line? I don't have the answer to that. Depends on the consequences on society as a whole.

The whole issue is being pushed by government, where we already have made the important changes to our laws and attitude towards gays two decades ago. Do you not think right-wingers have gays in their families? Of course they do. So maybe tone it down, take a deep breath, relax your sphincter. There we go, baby.

  15. Sorry but didn't Turdeau say exactly that in his campaign? I bring you transparency, and sunny ways? We see how that turns out. No, campaign platforms mean absolutely nothing and anyone who's been around long enough knows, when government promises something, it usually means they are the complete opposite. Like Ronald Reagan was purported to say, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help." And THAT, typifies what it means to be a right winger. Less authority for the authoritittys. My opinion there is no trust in government. They should not be trusted. They need to be disempowered, put into a place where they can do their job and do the least amount of harm while doing it. We need to change the system somehow.
  16. Facts of the legal case... what facts are there other than complete obfuscation of the issue. I do recall reading early on that Trump's lawyers said they had tried to notify relevant authorities as to the possession of these documents and their location, but no one would listen. Presumably they were already getting the knives out. I'm no expert on US politics but there is a thing called presidential executive privilege. I would defend Trump by looking at comparable cases involving former presidents. Finally in the end it's not the case that's defensible, because they've gone so far out of their way to frame Trump with anything and everything they can. So the question is kind of non-sequitur. Bigger issue is what's next. As if no one knows this is all about making him look as bad as possible prior to the next election run. Even if the charges don't stick, they will drag the case out so that he will still be facing these charges while running for president. That's the real motivation. Fact, the Dems look the other way for the president if he's from their party. What do you think will be the reaction if almost half of Americans support Trump, and he's thrown in jail for something like documents? You people are simply nuts, from a Canadian perspective. Keep that shit away from us.

  19. That's the main issue, and the problem is bigger than just the wiring on your street. The overall power generation of the province has to be increased, possibly doubled or tripled. Essentially all the energy from petroleum, which is a high energy density fuel has to be replaced by electrical power generators. A very large amount of power is needed. The only clean source of sustained high-power that can be added is nuclear, and these things cost untold billions and take decades to build. The new paradigm is SMRs, or "Small Modular Reactors" that futurists envision as sprinkled in every community. A little plutonium here, a little U-235 there. These power plants are the size of a large factory building, rather than massive complexes like Pickering or Bruce. But SMR's still have problems. They may not present a hazard on a planetary scale like Chernobyl, but the effect of a meltdown would be quite serious, though more local. You'll see some outcry from the "not in my neighbourhood" types. They present a security hazard as well since they become a target for terrorism, just as the big facilities need security against that. That's ok, every neighbourhood should have their own surface-to-air missile silos anyway. Ask the folks living near Zaphorozizia. They produce nuclear waste that to date cannot be recycled, only sequestered and it presents a hazard to the environment for thousands of years. Even after our civilization is gone. The production of nuclear fuel creates hazardous toxic substances that pollute the environment as well. There is no free lunch. Bigger issue is when are we going to start making them, if we are serious about banning sales of ICE vehicles in a mere few years. Answer, we're not serious about it. Hair boy is just stroking himself.
